This was the best intro/summary of Blue Protocol I’ve seen so far! It was honest and objective, well paced, informative about all the relevant things, and had all the relevant clips/visuals edited in, and all that without interruptions. This deserves to be the most viewed Blue Protocol intro video. Thank you for your work. 🙇🏻♂️
Fantastic stuff, not overhyped, incredibly informative, and basically answered all the questions I had. It seems to be a culmination of a lot of what I want in a game, here's to hoping it lives up to our expectations. Hope to see your channel grow, regardless of whether the game booms or busts.
Phenomenal overview, I've watched several BP videos and this one is the most detailed and answered a lot of my questions. Looking forward to what content you have in the future!
Thanks for the neat video. There's one thing that I want to point out with the mass amount of upcoming MMORPG/ MMO/ games in general is that I care a lot about the end game difficulty. I know that I will enjoy this game for sure with the info we got so far but If the end-game difficulty is not there then it wouldn't last a month for me. I was kind of scare of the part where the dev said "you can clear the game with low-roll gears". Genshin is the epitome of chilling where the dev just focus on exploration and stop giving an f about endgame content and I think I had enough of that.
100000% agree. a huge reason why i still hold onto Lost Ark despite what a horrific grind it is, is just for the new raids that come out because 90% of my interest in the game is the difficult raid encounters, and specifically learning them on item level when they are the hardest. i hope blue protocol endgame is challenging to not just feel like a chore!
thank you so much for the kind words! i mainly stream so i've been really neglecting my youtube until very recently, so comments like these make the work worthwhile
Thank you for the super informative video, well paced, thorough, simply superb. I wish the top MMO news channels put *half* the effort you did in this video, instead of dully reciting generic baseline articles that someone else wrote (cough mmobyte cough), or posting a half-assed uninformed "first impressions" vid. It's a breath of fresh air.
So you mention there are 2 possible future classes cause of the trailer and the 2 people in game, what about the Big Plate wearing dude in the City part of the trailer with the big 2 handed Crescent blade thingy. Is that beholden to just who ever that is or could that also be a class?
11:52 Blade and Soul gave me a sad moment like this kind of intro... one person who help the MC (your character) dies along the story. I hope its not the case on this one xD
Game is closer to warframe than a traditional MMO imo which isnt exactly a bad thing as games like Tower of Fantasy make this type of monetization look tame.
Ik I'm late to the party, but before I finish the vid I'd like to say for me the BIGGEST thing I look for in modern MMORPGs is how it's Monetized First, then the Gameplay Loop & Systems(more or less Horizontal being mixed in there as well) involved. So long as this game doesn't hit a content draught after 2months of playing(this will vary depending on how You play games in general) Edit: Well if Amazon is handling the West's Monetization I suppose our best example to look to is Lost Ark and New World. Fingers crossed they don't fuck this up Edit2: fuck me...Hidden Unmarked Quest?! YES YES ALL THE YES!!!!!! Giving me FFXI vibes, thank god. That's all I needed to hear, def jumping in day one! Edit2.5: GPOSE!? BUT BETTER!? Edit3: So far, the Monetization seems like it will be a very watered down variant of Lost Ark(that's being hopeful) more than likely with Reroll potions in the shop for those lazy to re-run stuff and of course the BattlePass. If they tackle it that way, it SHOULD be fine. Should....lol and like ya said around 11:20 is true. Right now they're doing the whole song and dance to bring players in, saying all the "right" things to make it into a huge success. Which you can't blame them for, they are a company afterall. Lets just hope they keep up that drive once the game is out, and provide us with a much needed Roadmap of what's to come what's the game is out. Hopefully they target Months that are in FFXIV's "down time" as that will create not only player retention, but keep people playing overall imo. Cause lets face it, it's no big shocker XIV is now the Crowned MMORPG, they really need to focus their patch cycles based around the "Big Fish" in the pond or else they will create a dilemma amongst people interested in BP, and currently FFXIV. And it's obvious their target audience is the XIV crowd via tryna draw them in. Just look at the direct inspiration with the Photo Mode system, UI Customization, and Party Finder. Anyways, Roadmap and clearly stating how the Patch Cycles will run( and then sticking to that aka start building a pattern for the players to follow just like XIV players can damn near determine when a Patch will drop months before it's even announced) when the game launches; or next dev stream, are an absolute Must.
I have not thought about this game in years and this kinda popped up which was a nice surprise. It's got some interesting features. You gave a great overview and also enjoy your chill vibe. While I have suffered often with altitis, I like being able to switch weapons to change classes instead of having multiple characters. It is funny how much they tried to stick to that awful mount strategy. They may have a vision for something, but you always need to ask is this mechanic fun. The heavy rng on weapon crafting does sound like a chore. Mmo's I suppose need something to grind for, but I could see building the same weapon over and over (just like looting the same weapon over and over in games like destiny) to grow old real quick. The gameplay will have to be really fun to balance that.
i agree. i think sometimes developers can have tunnel vision when focusing on a very specific objective. i think in this case they just REALLY wanted to make the world feel really large and push the exploration/adventure aspect of it, completely missing the quality of life that mounts bring to the table. i'm glad they changed their mind.
OMG ANOTHER BLUE PROTOCOL TUBER! YES! SUBBED AND LIKED! XD Edit- I hope that, since BP is an online game where we don't need to buy it, the game will have constant updates where they will add or remove some changes like Genshin/League of Legends updates lol...
Very well done! I watched another person's YT breakdown of classes abilities from CBT to the Dev update. It was concise and informative, just like yours. Which is bonkers, cos it's been hard pressed to get good info on BP. So, finding you both, back to back was dope AF! You two should team up, make vr babies, and possibly hold hands whilst in town on BP! 🤣 I jest, but not about the awesome video. Thanks, ma'am! 🙌🏽 P.s. Wow, a very very good, calm and seemingly neutral review. Got a new subscription. Anybody a clue how it compares to genshin impact ?? As much as I love (and sometimes hate) genshin impact I think blue protocoll could have exactly this what I miss in GI: Real multiplayer, gacha for skins only, less grinding because you grind for 1 char only and eventually a bit more realism in some tearms but it could have a p2win tendency. From anywhere the money has to be generated for the company.
i didnt play genshin for all that long but I'd say the biggest similarities are the art style, the "gear" being similar to artifacts in genshin where they just provide stats and dont change the visuals (aside from weapon) and the feel of the combat. aside from that I'd say blue protocol is an entirely different kind of game as it's a true mmorpg with a fleshed out social system!
yep! great comparison actually, almost identical to that. your "gear" appearance is just skins, and the only appearance change you get from gear itself is weapons - their visuals change and are inspired by the area from which the materials come from. this was such a great analogy, i can't believe i didn't think of it and went with blade & soul instead LOL
I'm so excited for this game, ow wait im from SEA. I'll wait for the SEA release, ow wait when it's released in SEA we SEA people are already over about the hype and playing a newer/better game.
weapon has plug slots (think of it like gems, or materia) that give very basic passive stats. beyond that skills themselves are unaffected but the more you level up the more they evolve with you
Hmmm. I'm kinda concerned about what exactly the end game grind is, looks too shallow to me. But will give this game a try anyways. Thanks for the concise vid.
well there will be other types of endgame crafting weapons is just one thing, there will also be an arena where you can test your mettle against waves of enemies either solo or with a group, there will be a tower climb dungeon, there will be raids, you can do repeatable missions for rewards, you can fish, level other jobs, or make another character or roleplay if you so choose. but devs have said they want to add in much more an make this game with various slice of life activities so you can really get that feeling you're having an adventure and apart of the world of blue protocol etc 😃
no timers or stamina systems like that, level and grind away all day if you want! some players have complained about some bottlenecks where before progressing with the main story quest it is recommended to grind your gear up a bit, but no direct cuts to your EXP or anything of the sort. this game fully supports co-op, it's just like any standard MMORPG like WoW or FFXIV - you see other players in the world, can invite them to parties to share mob kills, and create lobbies for dungeons! release date so far is a mystery :)
One thing I've been wondering is how the server situation is going to be. Will there be individual servers that you have to pick with your friends? Or regional mega servers with a shard system
Thanks for the great video. Do you know if there is a marketplace, like between players? Also, what are the servers like? Is it like ESO, with just a mega server per region, or is it more like New World? Thanks again.
thank you! for some reason looking through the comments a few days ago i didn't see this! so far, no marketplace whatsoever. not for consumables, or items, or anything like that. i played in the network test too and there was quite literally no marketplace at all or any trading. i don't know if it will stay this way or they just disabled it for the time being, but as it stands nothing like that in the game at all.
i wanna ask if game will be open world or it will be like genshin where friend must to join my world to do something together , next one is if there will be some raids or something challenging to do it
The world is similar to FFXIV, there are large zones you can explore but you have to phase inbetween some loading screens. The endgame so far seems to have dungeons with a tough boss at the end, open world bosses, and raid bosses!
From your explanation this game is starting to sound like TOF or Genshin and bro if this is another time gated Glorified Mobile game on PC, i will officially give up on Anime type MMORPG games.... A day doesn't go by without me wishing we can go back to the OG Maplestory, RS, Ragnarok, Endless online, Wow days.... Money and greed will ruin and kill the art in anything and everything it touches and unfortunately it has knocked on Video games door. The Golden age is over, but hopefully i am wrong and Bandai hits it out the park.......... Who we kidding it's Bandai
@@N0ZU. i get what you are saying but it makes more sense to make a game more accustomed to people who can spend time on playing it, people who don't have as much time respectfully would be the exception and game that focuses on their casuals usually fails because the base of the game is usually held up by its core player base.
i completely share your skepticism about the MMO genre man. fingers crossed for this one but yeah, i've crossed my fingers for so many mmos by now they're starting to hurt LOL
I agree with that WHOLE first part! And I think the one main common denominator is that TOF and Genshin have very high and nuanced limitations by being mobile friendly. Blue Protocol is a PC and Console ONLY game and I was SUPER happy to hear that for the very reasons you initially stated
@@camfreed9829 thatis the soul reason i have hope for BP since its console and PC it should be avoiding the mobile genre curses, lets hope they do good by us
i'm genuinely curious to know what about a battle pass turns you off? again, genuine curious question because i personally tend to really enjoy battle passes haha
For the very moment they give up the mount stamina they started to make other changes that no one ask for like the Gacha and personally I think they are lost their vision of the game anthe Bandai pressure got them and finally they decide to go with Amazon because how hard Gundam Overwatch failed. I think people will like the game but will become another game that will be alive only because the big Amazon Monopoly is ambitious in the gaming industry and will keep alive any game they have in their hands even if the game have no soul at all, but Chinese companies show the world that you can make a game like that a success with infinite content and Disney like constant marketing budget. I wish I had to play the game they wanted to deliver 2 years again even with the bad things they have
i feel conflicted about the gacha cosmetics i know it will be free to pay but i still hope it changes in the western version even if it expensive like in ff14
if you haven't played Lost Ark before, it's also published by amazon and KR had a gacha system for a certain kind of skin, and it didn't make it to us because of some EU laws, so there's a preeeeeetty good chance the gacha might get reworked for us! fingers crossed, i'm not a big fan of it either.
@@Laufie really? Thats the opposite of what I heard, alot of bad news about how desperate monetisation is being implemented in the English version of lost ark. Was that just naysayers?
My biggest concern is them pulling a Genshin on this. That is to say they build this over all progression system allowing us to build up our characters and seek those rare items only for them to be entirely pointless. It makes me worry that they have no real plan for higher levels and continued game play beyond (insert current end goal here) for whatever patch the game is on. I'm not saying pvp necissarily, but a level of challenge and value to players once they've managed to grind out all those peak stats on gear.
The big question I have is where do they lead the game to in order to fulfill their objectives for monetary sucess. In typical gacha games you have whales who bring the money so the standard gamer is cross financed.
i agree. i think the mmorpg genre is largely about getting those stats and refining your gear (the rpg part) but i feel too many titles nowadays kind of neglect the mmo part of it. social systems, events, solo content, horizontal exploration content, puzzles, etc., are all things that can give a game a lot more flavor, considering the fact that mmorpgs are high time investment games, so its important to make players feel connected to the game itself and not just to their own character's gear.
@@martinmcfly5405 I don't think the monetization is going to be nearly as strait forward and open as they want to present or otherwise depict to people this early. Accessories I'm sure are going to be increasingly monetized and expensive, the plugs thing is clearly going to be an early nudge for money in the cash shop, and I'm about 90% positive we'll see an endless rotation of "chest" sets that include bundles of these limited purchase items as well. We've seen it in pretty much every game of this type and I have no reason to believe this will be any different. Couple that with the battle pass and other areas where they don't explicitly say they DON'T have monetization, I get the feeling that they're trying to avoid the whale hunting problem the industry gets bagged on for and more try to pull a Warframe type of metric where they're lowering the payment scale to make it more affordable for the average player to drop a moderate amount on the game with out noticing.
no trading or marketplace or anything of the sort so far! no mention of it anywhere and when i played in the recent network test about a week or so ago there was no trading functionality at all in the game
@@spearki there is a closed japanese beta next week that you need a key for. western beta doesn't have a date yet, but it's supposed to be happening sometime this spring :)
Hoo, nice i guess the class, customization, gacha, weapon enhancement is following how pso2 doing. I hope they didnt recruit dudu for doing weapon enhancement
So players can only play as 'themselves' with no ability to play as any other characters in-game? Also, a weapon can only have 1 element? If so, then must grind a lot if want a particular weapon to have all elements means must having multiple copies of it in different element each? More grind cos you said the stats are RNG?
yes, this is just like your standard MMORPG like World of Warcraft - you make your own character and play as that character. visually the game looks similar to genshin, but there are no characters - you play as the character you created and can play any classes on that character, the classes aren't locked behind any gacha or anything, they're free and available to play anytime. elements aren't tied to the weapon itself but the class, so yeah essentially. no matter what weapon a twin striker has, because twin striker's SKILLS use fire, you will always be fire. hope that makes sense!
@@Laufie Hmm come to think of it, it's kinda restrictive. For example if archer class is only a specific element then an archer can never shoot arrows of other element. I guess it should be ok if gameplay in the game is designed around that restriction.
to my knowledge so far, Bandai is launching the game in Japan, and Smilegate will be the publisher for Korea, with Amazon handling the West. I'm not sure about other parts of Asia. hopefully they grab more people to make the game available in more places.
the way you said that crafted gear can have a better version of itself is kinda problematic. Having to run the same dungeon over and over again, only to get the best versiono of a weapon can get boring fast.
yep yep yep, huge concern of mine as well. we don't know any of the percentages behind these things, so if the chance of crafting a great success is fairly high this is a non-issue for me. but if it's something ultra rare in the game, that almost definitely means a giga grind. have to wait and see :>
Haizzz, i was really hope this mmo doesn't have too much artificial time waste bs like wow and lost ark. i would rather pay 20 dollar per month to ff to have whole baked cake ready to be consume, than layer upon layer of Rng base bs that give you a raw dough and expect you to get x100 same ingredient to make a slice of cake. Such a shame
you are certainly not wrong and i can't say i disagree. we have yet to really get our hands onto the true endgame and see just how engaging (or boring) it is. time will tell!

thank you! for some reason looking through the comments a few days ago i didn't see this! so far, no marketplace whatsoever. not for consumables, or items, or anything like that. i played in the network test too and there was quite literally no marketplace at all or any trading. i don't know if it will stay this way or they just disabled it for the time being, but as it stands nothing like that in the game at all.
When will be this game come out laufie
There should be a western beta in spring this year :) so soon tm?
clear video, easy to understand. thanks and subbed!
thank you!!
i wanna ask if game will be open world or it will be like genshin where friend must to join my world to do something together , next one is if there will be some raids or something challenging to do it
The world is similar to FFXIV, there are large zones you can explore but you have to phase inbetween some loading screens.
I actually like time gated content it keeps things balanced a bit more for those that dont have much time to play.
@@N0ZU. i get what you are saying but it makes more sense to make a game more accustomed to people who can spend time on playing it, people who don't have as much time respectfully would be the exception and game that focuses on their casuals usually fails because the base of the game is usually held up by its core player base.
i completely share your skepticism about the MMO genre man. fingers crossed for this one but yeah, i've crossed my fingers for so many mmos by now they're starting to hurt LOL
I agree with that WHOLE first part! And I think the one main common denominator is that TOF and Genshin have very high and nuanced limitations by being mobile friendly. Blue Protocol is a PC and Console ONLY game and I was SUPER happy to hear that for the very reasons you initially stated
@@camfreed9829 thatis the soul reason i have hope for BP since its console and PC it should be avoiding the mobile genre curses, lets hope they do good by us
So there's a battle pass... Well, now I will have to think twice if I really want to play this game.
i'm genuinely curious to know what about a battle pass turns you off? again, genuine curious question because i personally tend to really enjoy battle passes haha
Do you know Fiesta Online? If so, do you think Blue Protocol is like the improved, newer version of the game? :)
The question is, do we have a market to sell those crafted itens to other players?
no trading or marketplace or anything of the sort so far! no mention of it anywhere and when i played in the recent network test about a week or so ago there was no trading functionality at all in the game
I mean seeing how amazon montized Lost ark does have me concerned
amazing breakdown video. thanks
thank YOU!
I didn't know a lot of this stuff. Thx for getting me even more hyped for it (will pray for 2023 release)!

14:39 age rating immediately just spiked
HAHAH
good work laufie!
pretty good video game looks decent but ppl are for sure gonna mald over the rng crafting as always XD not sure i would personally play it tho
yeah, large amount of rng isnt for everyone
@@Laufie if there is an open beta test or i get to test it i will try it out tho always fun to try out games before you make a final decision
@@spearki there is a closed japanese beta next week that you need a key for. western beta doesn't have a date yet, but it's supposed to be happening sometime this spring :)
Subbed and Liked, the Video is very well put together so i shared it to my Discord!
thank you!
LETS GO!
Looks cool. I reaaallly hope they add PvP..
same here!
Helpful overview.
Good content, congrats.
Wow thankyou so much , ❤ when they will release on mobile ?
i don't actually know much about other platforms! we don't even know a PC release date yet haha
Will there be an assassin class in the future
nothing official yet, but i am sure there will be!
Hoo, nice i guess the class, customization, gacha, weapon enhancement is following how pso2 doing. I hope they didnt recruit dudu for doing weapon enhancement
"no alts needed" music to my ears
HAHAHAHAHA LETS GOOO
How about pople planing to play from ASIA?
to my knowledge so far, Bandai is launching the game in Japan, and Smilegate will be the publisher for Korea, with Amazon handling the West. I'm not sure about other parts of Asia. hopefully they grab more people to make the game available in more places.
Wait so is it not Genshin style open world then? Instead more like classic MMO instance zone worlds? Dang
Yeah exactly, although the zones feel quite large!
I know Ryker is here
HUH
hello elshishe
When's the JP final beta?
there's one next week but im not sure if its the final one!
Amnesiac MC here we go again....
hahahaha
the game is going to have world launch in 2023 right?
Sometime in second half of 2023!
@@Laufie ty alot me and my mmo guild ar hungry for a decent mmo to play together Xd
good video
my queen
When will it be released?
we don't know yet! Western beta should be soon-ish (end of spring maybe from what ive heard)
the way you said that crafted gear can have a better version of itself is kinda problematic. Having to run the same dungeon over and over again, only to get the best versiono of a weapon can get boring fast.
yep yep yep, huge concern of mine as well. we don't know any of the percentages behind these things, so if the chance of crafting a great success is fairly high this is a non-issue for me. but if it's something ultra rare in the game, that almost definitely means a giga grind. have to wait and see :>
As long as theres no gender locks and not p2w ill play. Is it coming to p5?
Nice video, don't think I'll be playing.
it's free to play if you change your mind!! appreciate the kind words :D
Is this game going to be cross platform?
yes sir!
depending on what amazon does im gonna try to play the JP version even if that means using a vpn and playing on a high ping.
too bad it's not releasing in SEA :c
every new MMO that comes out i find myself feeling awfully bad for SEA players :( you're welcome in my parties over on NA at least
Cool
Nice video
thank you!
edgy villain who is kinda hawt~
TRUEEEE
