Mw2012 wasn't supposed to be a "burnout" clone. Early versions of the game were actually closer to Mw05 and was going to follow up from carbon. Unfortunately the game ended up being the game that we got due to being rushed out because of a strict deadline, or Ea toning it down to appeal to a younger audience? No one really knows why.
That was the worst decision they've made. Big part of Burnout is mayhem and great damage model as you see cars getting crushed and fall apart on impact. It can't be replicated in a game with licensed cars, damage model sucks. Having to watch a boring cutscene when my bumper cracks a little bit after head on collision at 300kph was so annoying I couldn't finish the game.
to be fair, there was alot of cut content and it was supposed to be developed much different than tha final versions, just look at early Beta and u'll see why
This game was my childhood and I enjoyed it a lot, it has some issues like having all cars from the start but overall its a crime to call it a bad game tbh, just the name most wanted is the worst thing about it, otherwise its a very good game
Right @ 5:46. I'm a huge Need For Speed fan-I'm even collecting scale diecast that match the cars from the first several games-but for me the brand wasn't about street race culture or customization, and they never had stories; NFS was about racing factory supercars and concept cars in awesome locales across the world, set to a 90s psytrance original score, not licensed pop music. Its tone was more Top Gear special, than Fast and Furious movie. I miss it
I really miss the focus that the old games had on the cars, like with the showcases, cockpit view and stuff. It's a shame that anything that came before and a bit after UG/MW2005 is kinda ignored. Also, that Lotus Esprit v8 theme is such a banger
Not exactly the worst NFS game at all. This game is just like Burnout Paradise, so it's much enjoyable to finish the events and Most Wanted races, obtain cars and engage the pursuit, while others will be kind of boring, such as the Speed Points used for the player's total score instead of currency, no safehouses or tuning shops, annoying multiplayer events and crash camera.
In my head-canon the protagonist in Most Wanted 2012 is Zephyr (The racers' protagonist from NFS Rivals) who lost the plot and now dreams of supercars standing around in the open for the taking, these whacky cutschenes and the Most Wanted as a concept. (He despises Ryan Cooper, who destroyed street racing in Rockport and Palmont with his Blacklist-climbing and Territory-claiming antics). Also he hates the cops, so he dreams of outsmarting them with self-reinflating tires, bodyshops that repair cars in a flash and paint shops that chang a car's appearance in a flash. That also explains why there are no consequences for being busted. It's all in Zephyr's head.
I hated the physics in this game. The cars felt extremely heavy yet shattered like glass if you so much as tapped a traffic car. There was so much forced input lag that you’d steer and only start to turn a minute later. If they had kept the high speed boost model from previous burnout games I’d say the game wouldve done a lot better
As half-baked as the game is, i really enjoyed just cruising around the open world, you got the longass highways from the classic NFS games mixed with cities from the UG era, and the game encourages the player to go and explore with all the crazy stunts you can pull, cars to find and maybe mess with the police (very fun if you have a mod that makes them more persistent). Also, can you do a video on NFS Rivals? (um salve de Goiânia btw)

I did try the original MW a few years ago for a few hours and that’s when it clicked on me why this game dissapointed many ppl back then (also the comparisons to burnout paradise have made me realize I probably should play that game some day) Also the intro in this game is indeed goated
This might be a bit late to say. But some of the Blacklist cars from DLC rubberband really badly. At least the ones I’ve tried. The Venom GT is in the DLC and it rubberbands so badly, that it flies off the road and slams into a wall, wrecking itself. Or, it slams into you and wrecks you. I’d honestly say it’s worse than some of UG1’s rubberbanding.
I wasn't disappointed in the game when I got it for free in the PS store on my Vita in 2015 while also buying it on a sale on PS3 a few months later so I can play its dlc too and just kept having a complete blast. I never really enjoyed burnout paradise, but I absolutely love this game. I think a lot came from nostalgia as I played it when I was a kid and couldn’t beat a lot of it so it was amazing to play thorough and get achievements in a game I used to play
Fun fact: In this game u can bind esc to "exit menu" (idk how its called in the game) instead of backspace and then u cant do anything in the menu at all because it will open and close at the same time.
You do lightly mention it but this game was going to be a direct sequel, there is footage of the build going back to November 2011 build. Criterion needed more time but when EA execs saw it they asked it to be done by E3. This led to them messing around in January-May of 2012 with UI and story elements before EA demanded they removed this story and kept some of the gameplay for DLC. Then DICE and Bioware cleaned it up, Criterion worked on the E3 trailer and ended up cutting the Hummer that was literally shown in the Czech Republic trailer for the game. The game is entirely EAs fault. If EA didn't force a deadline on Criterion they could have had the next best seller in the franchise but nope.
(5:02) this is the perfect explanation why this game is so hated. It is great overall, but just because they called it Most Wanted, people hate it. Honestly, this makes me mad. Also, 5:56 the real NFS formula is just driving exotic/very appreciated cars in fast paced races. Just and only that. So, throwing this concept in Burnout's physics and an open world is an actual upgrade over the true essence of Need For Speed. Actually every game that makes something about the original formula better WILL be an upgrade, so i think none of this games built in the original formula will be worse than the original concept but stil... And, don't get me wrong, this is technically worse than Paradise and other Burnout and even NFS games, but still far from being as bad as people think it is
Need For Speed 2012 was a joke. It was a incredibly uninspired game which had no redeeming qualities whatsoever. That said, the Beta version of this game was actually far more incredible and was supposed to be a sequel to the 2005 game. It was called Need For Speed Most Wanted 2. In that game, you have to complete a series of insane challenges set by a kidnapper who kidnaps Mia. Meanwhile, you are considered the Rockport fugitive that is also "Most Wanted". The pursuits with cops are all or nothing affairs that could ruin you in more ways than one, and it's also intense. The cop AI was ruthless and wanted you to pay for any chase. They set up roadblocks, cleared the roads for public safety, and would even act like a real police force. Like in carbon, you can upgrade your cars in your safe house; that is unless it becomes compromised, and you have to flee from it. Unfortunately, the only thing we have to show this prototype existed was the gameplay was available is those two trailers....
I hated this game so much at launch, having played Underground 1 and 2 to exhaustion, and having liked Most Wanted and Carbon, when I saw this game I thought, "hey, this can be quite good!" Then I started okaying it and was like "WTF this is NOT NFS!" After a few months I played Burnout Paradise and saw that Criterion had made it and understood everything! But I still hated this game, because the experience was nothing of what was promised.
This was my first NFS game. It wasnt really that bad, I have over 400 hours on the game, I spend a lot of time in Multiplayer, which still some people play today.
This game was one of my first games when I got a ps3, Rivals was the first, and I found this one later on. But as a teenager, I loved playing this game, it was fun since I didn't have much games to play. It was interesting in a way even if it does have its flaws. But it also introduced me to my favorite car in the whole world, the Lamborghini Aventador. So oddly, this game has a place in my heart. I remember almost every Friday night after school, I would stay up until 2 am playing this game. Also, I loved fighting against the police, the Bugatti Veyron SS was the ULTIMATE cop killer. It got to the point where the game stopped loading opponents until I moved to another area.
The 2005/2012 most wanted games are my favorite in the series, the PC version has issues though, the controls have input lag. Its possible you can fix them with mods, and the game looks great at high resolution and frame rate. There is a mod to make all the effects and reflections higher resolution.
I love when games make fictional car brands. Beamng and burnout paradise are prime examples. I would have loved to see criterion do that again with this game 😢
I actually loved this game as a kid. Granted I never got to play the original Most Wanted. I also played Burnout far more than NFS, so maybe thats why I liked this one. I guess being a 7 year old let me forgive its obvious flaws. It was also the first game I ever 100% completed. Also, have you ever played Need For Speed: Rivals? Might be fun to talk about
I remember wanting to buy this game for so long then when I saved up and got a copy I barely played it because black ops 2 was so good and popular. I actually enjoyed the game as well still remember drifting that huge section off the hwy to I love it blasting. game just lacked so much content though.
i really enjoy(ed) this game and have a lot fun driving around (have approx. 190h in it since 2013). Its an generic open world racer, buts its the vibe and style that brings be back everytime even 11 years later. I had/have more fun driving in this game than in every nfs after it. Its the last nfs that (from my point of view) i dont get bored after 10 mins and fell asleep (for example 2015, heat, unbound).
The point of having to find cars in the city is that each car has its own races for upgrades and to earn sp, and u can use different types of cars for different stuff and find fast cars to taken on high tier most wanted racers
I ended up having an epiphany on why this game was called Most Wanted. This game was the first to introduce Speedwalls in the open world, and as such, further deepen the integration of Autolog and embolden the desire to hunt your friends. The whole idea of being "Most Wanted" in Fairhaven was being better than your friends. It's basically a competition between your friends, which was ultimately the downfall of this game, as most people who played probably don't bother filling their friends list with their actual IRL friends, so it becomes more or less a glorified Burnout.
This game was practically a Burnout Paradise sequel disguised as NFS, especially knowing some locations that we're planned for Paradise we're reused here. My only thought that why it wasn't called Burnout was because NFS would sell more copies.
This was actually my first exposure to the NFS series when I played it on my brother's PSVita. I kinda love the game to this day, maybe nostalgia but I don't know for sure. There is one thing to it that makes it one of the best playing NFS games for me, on a moment to moment basis. What I mean with that is the RacerS mod because I can finally play a NFS game with good police chases with my Steering Wheel.
I want a bigger and better Carbon, that's what I want from NFS. All it takes is to actually give the cops some kind of meaning so their presence is an actual threat for Carbon to be another great like the '05 Most Wanted. That, and maybe an updated car list... And better music choices compared to what we have now...
I quite liked this game growing up It was when I was still a kid and didn't have much experience with racing games but it really did start my love for racing games
I love how the mobile version has everything to be the main version. A more creative blacklist, better progression, an actual currency, beta content, a bit more competent police and more elaborated customization, with the iOS version even having liveries (if the information i got vas correct, i use Android)
I was team Midnight Club and never played the OG Most Wanted. I bought the 2012 version thinking it was just a remake but now I realize that I was wrong for so many years.
If this game just simply had some visual customization and some car progression so you didn't have high end cars from the start; it would've been a really good NFS game. It's good on It's own but I do wish we could've got the original idea finalized where it was a true sequel to MW05 and Carbon. Taking on a new blacklist and having weapons from Rivals and Hot Pursuit, would've been really fun to me.
I remember returning to this game and the most annoying thing that there were dlc cars in the street that you coudn’t unlock unless you paid and the bugs were a major reason why i never went back to play this piece of a game
Dude, this game was the bomb for my childhood. Don’t know how this game was the worst, this game is actually really fun to mess around with cops and experiment with the cars. One of the best.
Its crazy cause this was my first NFS and without it I wouldve never gotten into NFS, seeing all the videos recently of the Most Wanted hate has blown my mind
The game would probably be more loved if it wasn't called "Most Wanted" It's not a bad game, but it certainly isn't NFS Most Wanted.. just like how the Mustang Mach E isn't really a Mustang just cuz ford pud a horse badge on it
I played and enjoyed this game like 9 times on pc and then did it again when I got my xbox 360, and that was even more fun for a little period when they used to do Free xbox live days. My biggest issue with this game was that you couldn't do barrel rolls and that so much content was online only or DLC

I never really enjoyed burnout paradise, but I absolutely love this game. I think a lot came from nostalgia as I played it when I was a kid and couldn’t beat a lot of it so it was amazing to play thorough and get achievements in a game I used to play
This game is the Cheapest EA excuse to play burnout with licensed cars.
Fun fact: In this game u can bind esc to "exit menu" (idk how its called in the game) instead of backspace and then u cant do anything in the menu at all because it will open and close at the same time.
amazing lmao
EA named this game NFS Most Wanted cuz 'Money Bro'
(5:02) this is the perfect explanation why this game is so hated. It is great overall, but just because they called it Most Wanted, people hate it. Honestly, this makes me mad. Also, 5:56 the real NFS formula is just driving exotic/very appreciated cars in fast paced races. Just and only that. So, throwing this concept in Burnout's physics and an open world is an actual upgrade over the true essence of Need For Speed. Actually every game that makes something about the original formula better WILL be an upgrade, so i think none of this games built in the original formula will be worse than the original concept but stil... And, don't get me wrong, this is technically worse than Paradise and other Burnout and even NFS games, but still far from being as bad as people think it is
R.i.p the silly cartoonish design.
Welcome back the 3d donkey Kong country style design .
The newest burnout... That's sad.
We had the same reaction. I bought it, played for about 10 minutes, felt the bitter taste of disappointment, then immediately refunded it.
If you want Most Wanted 2? Just playing the Pepega Mod
Most Wanted 2012 apart from the name most wanted is actually a really good game with a dope af soundtrack
I must say as a 9 year old when this game first came out, I absolutely loved playing it back then
The 2005/2012 most wanted games are my favorite in the series, the PC version has issues though, the controls have input lag. Its possible you can fix them with mods, and the game looks great at high resolution and frame rate. There is a mod to make all the effects and reflections higher resolution.
I miss the old blue tag model
I love when games make fictional car brands. Beamng and burnout paradise are prime examples. I would have loved to see criterion do that again with this game 😢
I actually loved this game as a kid. Granted I never got to play the original Most Wanted. I also played Burnout far more than NFS, so maybe thats why I liked this one. I guess being a 7 year old let me forgive its obvious flaws. It was also the first game I ever 100% completed.
Also, have you ever played Need For Speed: Rivals? Might be fun to talk about
I did, but as much as this one
I'll definitely take a look at it!
@@BlooTeg don't do it as worst nfs game tho.
@@BlooTeg Don't even think about calling Rivals one of the worst, despite the bugs and glitches, it's an underrated game nonetheless.
My thoughts exactly upon playing: this feels like a burnout game!
The world record runs for this game are insane. Incredible how you can drive the whole map in under 3 minutes.
I remember wanting to buy this game for so long then when I saved up and got a copy I barely played it because black ops 2 was so good and popular. I actually enjoyed the game as well still remember drifting that huge section off the hwy to I love it blasting. game just lacked so much content though.
totally feel you on that, having better games to play might have been just another reason why I dropped it
Kinda funny how people force themselves to shit on this game and purposely ignore the graphics and obviously good but inaccurate car sounds
Just noticed the avatar being back for April fools
i really enjoy(ed) this game and have a lot fun driving around (have approx.
This is nothing like a burnout game!!!
i was, and still am, a burnout fanatic, playing this NFS title was basically just playing an early version of paradise.
This is my #1 NFS title.
Nostalgic for this game, and I hear its music lost a lot. Very different from most NFS but still very enjoyable in-game and outside.
The store is down but its because they are getting rid of the origin stuff and you need to buy the DLC through the new EA launcher
The PS1 intro felt like I was going through space🫠☄️🚀
I just loved the way your picture was up on the billboards you held the record for. Like your actual face. Brilliant.
I remember this game coming out around the same time the 1st Forza Horizon came out which blew me away compared to MW2012
I want a bigger and better Carbon, that's what I want from NFS. All it takes is to actually give the cops some kind of meaning so their presence is an actual threat for Carbon to be another great like the '05 Most Wanted. That, and maybe an updated car list... And better music choices compared to what we have now...
I quite liked this game growing up
It was when I was still a kid and didn't have much experience with racing games but it really did start my love for racing games
4:18 Holy crap I can hear the song going higher and higher while this Aston Martin is screaming down the road
definitely worth checking it out on TH-cam!
I remember playing the Kindle version of Most Wanted in 2018, until I played the Xbox 360 version. Love this game.
In short, it just a Criterion cash grab MW 2005 knock off and I remember that in those years Criterion was marketing it so hard.
Haven’t even started the video yet but it caught my eye as me and my friend always called this abomination NFS: Most paridise…
The Worst NFS Ever: NFS Unbound
Guys, remember suicide cutscene? That one reaaaally surprised me.
A remaster of this game with a popular online would be a godsent, like the 2018 burnout paradise remaster
the only reason why i still play this game is because of the sound the cars make while in the air after like 10 seconds with nos
The only 3 things i love of this game is, the soundtrack, the graphics and the car damage model, amazing for a 2012 game
I didnt mind the each car had each race.. which was a different concept. I enjoyed it.
boy: mom can we get most wanted?
mom: no, we have most wanted at home
most wanted at home:
I remember returning to this game and the most annoying thing that there were dlc cars in the street that you coudn’t unlock unless you paid and the bugs were a major reason why i never went back to play this piece of a game
Dude, this game was the bomb for my childhood. Don’t know how this game was the worst, this game is actually really fun to mess around with cops and experiment with the cars. One of the best.
Its crazy cause this was my first NFS and without it I wouldve never gotten into NFS, seeing all the videos recently of the Most Wanted hate has blown my mind
yeah I can see how that can be very disappointing:/
The game would probably be more loved if it wasn't called "Most Wanted"
It's not a bad game, but it certainly isn't NFS Most Wanted.. just like how the Mustang Mach E isn't really a Mustang just cuz ford pud a horse badge on it
Can't believe this game is 10 years old now
I played and enjoyed this game like 9 times on pc and then did it again when I got my xbox 360, and that was even more fun for a little period when they used to do Free xbox live days.
My biggest issue with this game was that you couldn't do barrel rolls and that so much content was online only or DLC
