Hey techless. I got mine in germany and installed the Firmware update right when i got it. i have no flickering so far and i use gSync for everything. Even in Warzone, because i Like the smoothness of gsync/vsync and are prepared for a Bit of an unnoticeable delay (for me). I use the blurbuster guide with vsync on nvcp, but ingame off and reflex is Capping my Frames, tho i rarely Hit 240 fps at 4K in warzone. Lower fps titles like alan wake without frame gen feel a bit choppier, but haven‘t done enough testing. A Bit annoying is the switching of the hdr formats from true black (brighter Games Like warzone) to hdr peak 1000 (darker games like diablo 4), where it goes black for a few seconds and sometimes online registering 120hz max, but After a restart, it works normally. Thats my experience so far.
there is definitely vrr flicker but it's much less noticeable with hdr true black on if you don't believe me try turning off all hdr in windows and warzone and then jump into firing range. i find the higher and stable the fps the less flicker i see.
OLEDs don't have flicker, it may be brightness fluctuating when you drop from lets say 150 fps to 60 fps but that would be considered by some people as "flicker" when something this happens you will see 1 frame flicker in 1 dark shadow area place which is extremely hard to catch by naked eye. There is no PWM flicker.
All OLED’s will flicker unless you have a GPU that matches the performance you want, the content you are playing is well optimized, and you have a consistent fps range that does not have sudden lows of more than 20-35, thats my estimate but the idea stays the same, does flickers happen when theres fluctuations that the technology cant match fast enough both the tech and content need to be synched perfectly to never had flicker

Unfortunately, motion clarity at 240Hz is not even in the same ballpark as motion clarity for a strobed IPS with something like ULMB2. 4K 240Hz is really cool, don't get me wrong, but we have a long ways to go until "endgame".
Ulmb2 looks impressive in something like TestUFO but in actual games you won't be standing still trying to read text flying by or look how sharp an enemy is in motion
@@MiscoJix I totally wish it was like you said, but unfortunately the clarity difference is actually *very* easy to see in-game as well. With controller-based games I want to be able to walk around while rotating the camera (relatively slowly even!) and looking at things in the background, and 240Hz just can't keep up unfortunately. It looks very *smooth* , but everything looks blurred like my glasses prescription is wrong by a couple clicks. If you're just playing games like you've always played, with fast adjustments of the camera but otherwise a stable camera position, 240Hz will be totally fine since average object motion while moving forward or strafing is relatively low, but I want to be able to do something *new* that I couldn't do otherwise at low framerates, and unfortunately 240Hz unstrobed doesn't allow for comfortably consistently turning the camera. 360Hz I find to be "good enough" and a decent compromise given strobing's lack of HDR and effect on brightness, so I'm still very happy with my MPG271QRX (a 27" 360Hz OLED) purchase. But we're certainly not in end-game yet.
@@andrewmorris3479 It's definitely getting close, but even when slowly rotating the camera it feels like I'm just barely holding the blur at bay on my MPG271QRX, while strobed on the PG27AQN felt 100% comfortable (at least, on the upper half of the screen; the lower half was a crosstalk mess lol). But 360Hz feels like the right compromise given everything else these panels are great at!
You’re overdoing it my guy seriously! Oleds have have the best motion clarity than any panel and it’s 240hz which makes it even better at 4K! Now that is endgame! It’s cool you like 360hz but to say it’s clarity isn’t in the ballpark of a strobed ips is just crazy

Sadly you would still get blur if the game can't reach those framerates. For a game with stable 125 fps you would need the panel to only be active 1/8 of the time. And given that these OLED monitors have brightness issues, that BFI mode would be very dim.

I can't wait for AOC 24G4 test. Seems like its new king for budget.
@@fayezelomari well after m104b the new update i got flicker as well, before I did not notice any 🫠
Could you set your camera shutter speed to 1/1000s and check if you see any flickering?
OLEDs don't have flicker, it may be brightness fluctuating when you drop from lets say 150 fps to 60 fps but that would be considered by some people as "flicker" when something this happens you will see 1 frame flicker in 1 dark shadow area place which is extremely hard to catch by naked eye. There is no PWM flicker.

Just learned of VRR flicker.. is this still an issue? Or do I gotta wait a few more years.
It may be inherent to OLED.

4k 360hz is end game for next 3-5 years until 8k 120/240hz start making an appearance. You have to think that 4090 can achieve 4k 100+ fps in majority of the games and in few generations of gpus, 8k will be do able around 8k 100fps, if not with DLSS atleast.
Based on steam hardware surveys less than 4% of people have 4K monitors. So what are you even cloud dreaming about. 8K is diminishing returns compared to 4K and viewing distance / screen size. There may "be" some market for higher resolution monitors but that would be production/photography/film making not for every day "joe" because every day joe won't see any difference with their worsening eye sight vision anyway.

@@jaszjsz DisplayPort 2.1 does support the resolution without DSC. So it's possible if you pay 2 dollars more per device. ;-)
Nvidia cards don't have DP 2.1 yet.. Reason manufacturers are still using the cheaper spec port.
Completely pointless unless you game with AMD.
Also $2 across millions of units ads up, especially when supplier cost drops on older DP1.4 ports. IE: They continue to get cheaper.
@@jaszjsz I do use an AMD card. That being said, if nVidia wants to cheap out, it's their thing. DP 2.1 would work and even if some customers wouldn't use it right away, it would be backward compatible. Alienware just didn't want to use it because they wanted to 'save' a few bucks. Disgusting ...

The AW2725DF feels about the same as the PG248QP without ULMB 2 which is very impressive.
