I've been looking into crafting my own gear alot more this league and this guide was great, straight to the point and easy to understand. I feel like I could go on craft of exile and craft some insane gear if I just watch this video a bunch of times to soak in all the info. I'll likely not be able to afford the insane expensive min max crafts but I can definitely take this info to make some solid mid to end game items.

A lot of people have been playing for years and years so the investment for gear and even regular items is a lot higher. Newer players generally have a harder time in standard because they are trying to 'compete' (In terms of market items, value, etc) because they have a lot more currency stacked up over years of play. Leagues put everyone on level playing ground as everyone starts with a fresh character. That and it adds new mechanics that freshen up the game. After 90 days you start again with another league and another character.
I like how I started off tonight thinking "I wonder how to use that crafting bench in my hideout" - then find out how horrifically expensive "real" item crafting is. Awesome to see, bc I doubt I'll ever get to do this myself.

Nice video, honestly it feels so much better to make currency and spend it on your own projects than hunting for overpriced stuff on trade that isn't exactly what you're looking for. The whole process is clunky and unintuitive, like most of PoE, but once you understand it the game opens up considerably. Side question: Craft of Exile wont let you reforge fire on chest once it has a low tier fire mod- is that just a bug? I don't see why Harvest wouldn't reroll over it but wanted to check.
Another little tip when you have one good suffix that you really want to keep, you can use multi mod and prefix cant be changed to significantly increase your odds (commenting mid video dont know if this gets adressed) :)
Some ways to do crafting is pretty niche and heavily depends on your knowledge on past league mechanics like betrayal and beastiary which I have real trouble with. Basic fossil and essence crafting seems to be the most accessible but i appreciate these videos for when i do master the mechanics. I guess its difficult for a reason.
Escpecially with Curse on hit Rings and +1 gem mods on weapons you can use "cannot roll caster modifiers" to give you a better chance at anulling... if there is an open Suffix ofc
Another option for rerolling prefix without changing suffix (alternative to buying harvest craft) is to use searing exarch implicit and hit it with an eldritch chaos.
And remember, in order to actually start doing this, for those recently reaching end game. Is that you won't even have that many resources to burn anyways, so keep on farming. Then check the video again.
Crafting seems prohibitively expensive. You admit that catalysts are really expensive but you dont mention that the keep suffixes crated mod costs 2ex alone.
Rule of thumb is only craft gear if it's cheaper to do so, any craft that requires 2+ suffixes cannot be changed will on average cost 8-10 ex. This crafting guide is for giga end game items, like 25 ex seismic sceptres etc
new to crafting and this is still super helpful. the only thing outdated which i dont know how to work around, is the keeping suffixes harvest reforge. what's the alternative? annul or pre/suff to suff/pre and pray?
PoE is a fun game. I hope that PoE 2 tones it down a bit though... there's no reason that you should have to go to a website to do anything in a video game
So they deleted "reforge keeping prefixes/suffixes" :( Is there a good replacement for that, when I fill up with six modifiers, or do I just have to pray for a good orb of annulment, and if it bricks, start over from the beginning? I haven't been able to find a video addressing this since 3.19.

i have yet to combine anything good. I am pretty deep on trying to make myself a even better RF helm , RF weapon , RF rings and amy and it just does not work at all. Left and right people are combing insane items and for me it just pops out the most garbage stuff possible every single time.
"you can easily create", yeah easly is not the good term for this, easely would have been like a reciepe and you can craft whatever you want on the bench and improve the percentage of the modifier on the bench also while spending currencies. Like for instance, you can spend 1500x Orb of Fusing to create a 6 link. That easy and not unecessary complex. You can spend 100 chaos orb and you craft +life or +% damage fire, etc. Then you can spend 100 chaos to improve the modifier by +1%, etc. That some easy straightforward craft. Your video is a testimony on how difficult it is. Yet you manage to explain in a concise way and I thank you for this. POE is a good game but the crafting design is horrendous.
Great guide. Really sad (but good to know) newer players are fully locked behind all the crafting and gear required to get further. Been trying for weeks to buy a shield for a build from a guide as I can't craft it and can't farm gear for it. Can't do anything over T6 maps with current gear. Starting to think end game is only for masochists and sadists.
The problem ain't "how to craft". The problem is "I can't be bothered buying all this harvest shit, and having all the currency to craft in the first place". I wish TFT wasn't needed too.
Harvest reforge in yellow maps is free and gets your gear good enough to farm currency with alters and good sentinel rewards. You can't craft really good items in this game for free, obviously there needs to be a cost associated with really good gear.
Hi. Great video! I want to start out crafting some 4-5 mod good gear. Just to be clear every metacraft "cannot be changed" will cost you 2 divine right ? When you dont hit what you wanted it is try and remove the new mod, fail go back to step 1? And then pay 2 div every time you dont want the affixes to change ? Seems to get expensive fast. Maybe I am missing something. Are there other ways to get 4-5 good mods without having 2 metacraft every time ?

I come to see a man craft a ring instead i got a man with a excell sheat rappid fiering combinations of suffix and prefix at me, you need to remake the video and show your self going to the npcs with the correct mats in the correct order tell us where the npc is and what the mat looks like as you are doing this explain what the mat is for and where you got it. Ive played 200 hours of poe i know what a suffix is i know what a prefix is what i dont know is is how to get them onto the item in the correct order so that it doesnt brick and which npcs i should visit to do that, my crafting knowledge so far is this, find lvl 85 item clean it, use a essence with the main stat i want, add a suffix with oil, exalt it to boost stats then finally corrupt it, you mentioned much more mats wich i have alot of but no idea who to speak to in what order to use them.
I don't understand. At 6:00 there is "Suffixes can't be changed" craft. But then "Reforge Chaos" wanishing it away and cnanging one of the suffixes. How does that works? Not a beginer's guide for sure.
it didn't change a suffix, it added one since there was an open slot. And the reforge got rid of the "suffixes cannot be changed" because that's not a suffix
Crafting is easy. If there was an auction for consumables and crafts. Stalking in TFT - no. I'd rather play a game than play a small old town craftsman simulator.

If prefixes or suffixes are full, an easier/cheaper way to remove one could be using Eldritch Annulment Orb.
So easy to click the buttons, but some of those button clicks are 1-2 ex each.

That doesn't work on jewelry though. Only on Helm, Glove, Boots and Body Armor.

Always try and spot good crafts for other builds. Could literally worth a lot

if the item can take eldritch influence, you can use eldritch chaos, so that helps on helm, chest, boots and gloves at least :/

So, in short, to craft you need currency? Each non-suffix etc, is 2EX... yea, crafting is so easy...
