Seen a dozen of this kind of combo, but this is the first one that actually explains it in the slightest detail, there was always one detail i couldn't figure out to get the max amount of dmg. Thank you for making this one so crystal clear, i'm looking forward to the next one.
Reason you need to wait 3 seconds is because there's a cooldown on triggering the same elemental reaction multiple times on one enemy. Since you proc Vaporise for no damage with the first hit, the Vaporise reaction is put on a short cooldown before it can happen again on that enemy.
This is the correct answer. The same thing applies for other elemental reactions. The reason why enemies don't literally get nuked to 0 HP from Venti's burst + reactions, is because there are cooldowns on said-reactions. If there wasn't, it would be very possible to kill extremely large HP enemies with no prep, and in mere seconds, for just clicking one button.
@@behi-u5w I believe it's 2 seconds simply because Sucrose's ultimate lasts for 6 seconds and ticks 3 times. I'm almost (?) sure she procs elemental reactions every time her ult ticks so that's once every 2 seconds. I can't confirm this without testing, it's just a logical feeling got.
@@PiFsc2 Different reactions have different cooldowns I believe. Vaporize and melt have the highest cooldown because of how powerful they are late game.

Very nice video For those who still struggle to get it: => Vaporize proc'd by fire hit to burst bubble result in lower damage, so in order to avoid that; debuff them w/ fire first, let the first stella hit remove both elemental debuff, then hit with fire again to get vaporize proc'd on water (blue number instead of orange)
For the new audience here, Barbara's book buff already wore out by the time Mona's Q dropped. So be careful with timing when you're trying it yourself. Edit: please don't blame the video owner for this as this was created in a fairly early stage of the game when everyone was still testing and getting used to the system.

Some things I thought that could help improve this method: 1- Bennett instead of Barbara. 25% ATK Bonus, plus a crapton of bonus while Ult is active. 2- Sucrose instead of Venti. She always increase damage dealt by 20% with C6, where Venti needs at least 17% enemy resistance to Hydro to beat beat her with his C6. Against enemies that have 0 resistance to Hydro, he'll only increase damage dealt by 11%. Sucrose also uses a Catalyst, meaning that you can use her for Trilling Tales instead of Barbara. She is also a 4* featured on the current banner, so that's your chance at it. 3- Xiangling instead of Diluc. Ok, if she somehow fails, don't use. But in case you can manage to make her work (don't fucking use her ult near trapped enemies as it deals 3 ticks of Physical Damage during the activation, you donkeys!), she offers delayed Pyro Damage, so you can swap back to Mona in order to get the bonus attack from Bennett ult. The proccess is about the same, with some details. 1- Use Mona's Hydro to wet the target. 2- Use Sucrose Burst or just Skill to proc Virisdecent. If you have C6 and use Burst, you'll get extra Hydro Damage later as well. 3- Quickly swap to Mona to give her Trilling Tales buff. 4- Swap to Bennett, and use his ult to both create the Inspiration Field and apply the Pyro afix to the target. 5- Swap to Mona and use her Burst. 6- Use Xiangling's bear. 7- Swap back to Mona. 8- Enjoy. 9- Clear the other enemies with Bennet Skill (no field bonus here, sorry...). I wanted to point it since people may have otherwise had the impression that you need any 5* other than Mona to do this, which is neither true nor the optimal way.
before trying this method my mona only crit 7k~ dmg at fire plant, now my mona + amber deal 22k dmg to fire plant!! this is crazy, i'm only AR 30 with trash artifact and only using mappa mare..

I find Mona hard to use. Sometimes her elemental burst causes lots of damage, sometimes not. Thanks a lot for the video!! I think I should do this: 1. Add pyro. 2. Mona 3. wait 3 second 4. hit
So his order is for this: hit with pyro first to add pyro. Second, hit with Mona - her burst will proc vaporize for no dmg but that takes both debuffs off. Finally, switch and wait 3 seconds and hit with a Pyro. You have to hit with pyro because: Pyro will hit and apply the debuff, THEN the bubble will burst and apply Hydro, proccing a Vaporize with the BUBBLE's damage, since the bubble is bursting AFTER the pyro user's attack. The point is that the bubble will likely do more damage than whatever fire user you're using, so you absolutely want the bubble to burst when the enemy is affected by fire. That means you have to get rid of Hydro debuff Mona's burst applies when you use it, or any attack you use to break the bubble will interact with the first Hydro debuff and the bubble bursts on no debuffs, triggering no combo. That's why he hits with a Pyro first and THEN uses her Burst so it procs that no damage vaporize and gets rid of the hydro debuff, setting up for the big burst damage.
@@seanpierce4566 as noted by the OP, we could try this with Xiangling but her elemental skill is clunky. So would a low level Amber work? Or would we need to level Amber up to make this effective? I'm not sure how much the damage is dependent on the pyro vs the hydro character in this reaction.

@@soba1180 you can farm nobless & gambler top left corner in liyue. Actually I even See a 4 star artifact and 25% crit Chance is not high. The weapon is really nice, but that's not an "op" mona doing lot of dmg, it's a good mona doing lot of dmg.
@@soba1180 yes, with higher crit rate, it procs more often, ergo the 90k dmg in this case is procing more often) on some chars you want high crit rate and on some high crit dmg, for mona ofc dmg is important, crit rate is more important. On diluc crit dmg is more important, on fischl crit rate on dps Barbara crit dmg. Always depends on the char an the build. I just saying that this mona is not even close to being op (stats could be better) and still manage to deal 90k dmg which is impressive. This means everyone with this understanding can ez make 100k dmg c0 mona

Sooo I just pulled Mona. Team : Bennett - Mona - Sucrose (4th could be Klee / Xinagqiu / Barbara / Xiangling / Noelle / Fischl ?) 1. Use Hydro (Mona AA or any other hydro character if so used as 4th character) 2. Use Sucrose E/Q + Venerer set for swirl dmg and minus RES to Hydro 3. Swap to Mona for Thrilling buff then swap to bennett 4. Use Bennett Q for applying pyro and buff dmg 5. Swap to Mona, drop her Q 6. Swap to Bennett (or Klee / xiangling if so used as 4th character) and use Pyro skill again (wait 3s for internal vaporize cooldown) 7. Profit ? Someone can confirm those steps or I'm missing something ?
@Dannathos shes doing fine. Lvl 70. Im still figuring stats around. Im not grinding much. A vit everyday. Just hit ar41 and focusing to level my klee first. I gotta figure out Mona soon! Her talents arent leveled up still.

Im really confused in using mona cuz i dont know if should i use artifacts with attack%, crit rate%,crit damage% or hydro damage%..can you pls tell me whats the best for her and if i use this build is it ok to make her my main dps or is it just for the ulti combo
TL;DR at the bottom On the cup always use the characters element(Hydro% for mona) for catalyst users (mages) since it multiplicative instead of additive (like ATK%). The other stats are up to you most of the time, but for mona I personally would got with ATK% before level 70 and Energy Recharge Rate after level 70. I got for energy recharge after level 70 because mona get a passive that converts 20% of her energy recharge into hydro% and energy recharge significantly increase the amount of uses of your burst. Its possible though that around level 80 or 90 it would probably be better to go back to ATK% instead of energy recharge (keep the hydro% on the cup though) as your base attack might be high enough that 80%-100% ATK increase is a higher damage increase than 20% of your energy recharge as hydro. Since I don't know the damage values of that level range though, I can't really tell you if thats the case. Before level 70: Cup with hydro%, rest either of the stats you mentioned (depending of preference) ATK% will probs still be your best damage Level 70: Hydro% on cup and Energy Recharge on as much of your other artifacts as possible because of Mona's "20% of Energy Recharge as Hydro%" passive At (maybe) level 80 or (most likely) level 90: Hydro% on cup, switch back to ATK% on the rest. (Your Base attack will most likely be high enough to be worth more than 20% of energy recharge as hydro %)
Yeah, that's basically it. But you have to wait 3 seconds or so before doing the last pyro. There's a cooldown between triggering some elemental reactions, like vaporize (not sure if this is intended or a bug). So it's pyro-->hydro (mona burst)-->wait (3 secs.)-->pyro
@@timothynguyen8343 Not ideal to use either. You don't have to wait the 3 secs to proc for those, but they don't really boost Mona's damage. Electro + Hydro does damage over time. Anemo (first) + Hydro does NOT do anything, since for Anemo to proc Swirl, the other element has to be applied first, it can't be the other way around. For Venti's case if you use Q, what would happen is Anemo will start doing Hydro damage AFTER Mona's bubble bursts, and the additional damage would only be based on Venti's Atk and Elemental Mastery, so no benefit to Mona. The reason Mona + Pyro works is Pyro + Hydro (in that order) will cause x2 Hydro damage, in this case it would x2 Mona's bubble burst. It doesn't have to be Diluc, the important part is to trigger the Vaporize reaction on Mona's bubble bursting, there are videos that use Amber at level 1.

well you won't reach that level of dmg with any characters until they have a decent set of artifacts. Once you get there even solo diluc can crit for 100k ALSO very important Elemental DMG scale highter than normie attack% so invest on those.

i cant even understand the first situations your Mona Q is 719% dmg total , your auto attack deal 1248 . The bubble damage should be " 718% of 1248 = 8960 " but in the vid it went all up to 17K without any effect or crit

So basically use burst on an enemy afflicted with pyro, wait 3 seconds for the debuff cooldown, then use pyro skill again. Ideally use barbara to switch in for damage and swirl to reduce hydro res.

Your last hit also needs to be a pyro attacks so the bubble can proc vaporize. If you hit with anything else, you're doing it wrong @@

Mona supp vaporize: mona q first without any reaction -> pyro

@@soba1180 you can farm nobless & gambler top left corner in liyue. Actually I even See a 4 star artifact and 25% crit Chance is not high. The weapon is really nice, but that's not an "op" mona doing lot of dmg, it's a good mona doing lot of dmg.

@@soba1180 yes, with higher crit rate, it procs more often, ergo the 90k dmg in this case is procing more often) on some chars you want high crit rate and on some high crit dmg, for mona ofc dmg is important, crit rate is more important. On diluc crit dmg is more important, on fischl crit rate on dps Barbara crit dmg. Always depends on the char an the build. I just saying that this mona is not even close to being op (stats could be better) and still manage to deal 90k dmg which is impressive. This means everyone with this understanding can ez make 100k dmg c0 mona

Sooo I just pulled Mona.
Team : Bennett - Mona - Sucrose (4th could be Klee / Xinagqiu / Barbara / Xiangling / Noelle / Fischl ?)
1. Use Hydro (Mona AA or any other hydro character if so used as 4th character)
2. Use Sucrose E/Q + Venerer set for swirl dmg and minus RES to Hydro
3. Swap to Mona for Thrilling buff then swap to bennett
4. Use Bennett Q for applying pyro and buff dmg
5. Swap to Mona, drop her Q
6. Swap to Bennett (or Klee / xiangling if so used as 4th character) and use Pyro skill again (wait 3s for internal vaporize cooldown)
7. Profit ?
Someone can confirm those steps or I'm missing something ?
@Dannathos shes doing fine. Lvl 70. Im still figuring stats around. Im not grinding much. A vit everyday. Just hit ar41 and focusing to level my klee first. I gotta figure out Mona soon! Her talents arent leveled up still.

@@krack-a-lacker I have Sucrose so she helps. With that 48% dmg boost and the 4 set Virisident something that reduce elemental resist. I play around Energy Recharge for her, so my Atk only around 1k, 250%+ Energy recharge, 95% Hydro dmg. 2 Nobless 2 Exile artifact set.

Dont use ATK% on a cup. Use hydro%.
TL;DR at the bottom
On the cup always use the characters element(Hydro% for mona) for catalyst users (mages) since it multiplicative instead of additive (like ATK%). The other stats are up to you most of the time, but for mona I personally would got with ATK% before level 70 and Energy Recharge Rate after level 70. I got for energy recharge after level 70 because mona get a passive that converts 20% of her energy recharge into hydro% and energy recharge significantly increase the amount of uses of your burst. Its possible though that around level 80 or 90 it would probably be better to go back to ATK% instead of energy recharge (keep the hydro% on the cup though) as your base attack might be high enough that 80%-100% ATK increase is a higher damage increase than 20% of your energy recharge as hydro. Since I don't know the damage values of that level range though, I can't really tell you if thats the case.
Before level 70: Cup with hydro%, rest either of the stats you mentioned (depending of preference) ATK% will probs still be your best damage
Level 70: Hydro% on cup and Energy Recharge on as much of your other artifacts as possible because of Mona's "20% of Energy Recharge as Hydro%" passive
At (maybe) level 80 or (most likely) level 90: Hydro% on cup, switch back to ATK% on the rest. (Your Base attack will most likely be high enough to be worth more than 20% of energy recharge as hydro %)

Yeah, that's basically it. But you have to wait 3 seconds or so before doing the last pyro. There's a cooldown between triggering some elemental reactions, like vaporize (not sure if this is intended or a bug). So it's pyro-->hydro (mona burst)-->wait (3 secs.)-->pyro
@@vincenttan6533 have you tested it with fischl or venti, instead of diluc? Do you still have to wait 3 secs?
@@timothynguyen8343 Not ideal to use either. You don't have to wait the 3 secs to proc for those, but they don't really boost Mona's damage.
Electro + Hydro does damage over time. Anemo (first) + Hydro does NOT do anything, since for Anemo to proc Swirl, the other element has to be applied first, it can't be the other way around. For Venti's case if you use Q, what would happen is Anemo will start doing Hydro damage AFTER Mona's bubble bursts, and the additional damage would only be based on Venti's Atk and Elemental Mastery, so no benefit to Mona.
The reason Mona + Pyro works is Pyro + Hydro (in that order) will cause x2 Hydro damage, in this case it would x2 Mona's bubble burst. It doesn't have to be Diluc, the important part is to trigger the Vaporize reaction on Mona's bubble bursting, there are videos that use Amber at level 1.

well you won't reach that level of dmg with any characters until they have a decent set of artifacts. Once you get there even solo diluc can crit for 100k ALSO very important Elemental DMG scale highter than normie attack% so invest on those.

your Mona Q is 719% dmg total , your auto attack deal 1248 . The bubble damage should be " 718% of 1248 = 8960 " but in the vid it went all up to 17K without any effect or crit

thank you for your explanation. I watched a lot of videos for support Mona but never understand how to utilize her burst until now. I've been using her burst wrong for the longest timee ( i'm already ar 47 TT)
So basically use burst on an enemy afflicted with pyro, wait 3 seconds for the debuff cooldown, then use pyro skill again. Ideally use barbara to switch in for damage and swirl to reduce hydro res.
