    Scotty, move over. Finally, someone like Martin comes along and talks to me without shouting and I'm a two-year-old. Great video, informative and a solution all in one. Thanks, Martin Two thumbs up and I'm subscribed.

    Good job on the video, we use a long bolt and a 1/4 thick piece of flat steel and pull it in with the impact wrench.

      Thank you Brian, yeah after it's all said and done I was thinking I should have used one of those totally spaced it. An air hammer probably would have drove it out of there a lot quicker.

    hi martin, i mounted those inserts last year and had a very bad experience, after less than 1 year they were already in bad shape.since i don't know what happened to wear out those so quickly I made 2 new metal bushing with tighter fit with the lathe to give them another shot. not happy also with prothane as company since they are almost impossible to contact.
    hopefully now they will really last forever, it knot i will go back to OEM design

    D.W. here. Martin, Questions :1st- In the title, you say this fix/mod is for the 93-98 ZJ and WJ. Then you mention that its for the V8 engine mounts so, could you clarify please. Will this motor mount mod work on 1st gen. ZJ'S with Inline 6-4.0L engine's? Specifically, a 95 ZJ GCL 4wd? Also, someone in comments asked if it will work for the 42re transmission mount? Can I get an AMEN? Looks as though I'll need to do all three myself and this looks like a good bit of effort for a long term result so Im gonna give this a go. I'm new to building/restoring Jeep ZJs and have been following your channel to learn. Thanks for the great content and cheerful demeanor. Your attitude and presentation goes a long way to keeping me cheerful while tackling these challenging diy repairs. Especially when, being in my mid fifties, contorting into unnatural body positions to get toloosen and tighten bolts and using muscles I forgot I had, causing "motorhead aches" I never experienced in my 20s thru 40s. Oh well, we gotta still, "git er done". Keeping an attitude of gratitude. Thanks again for all you do Martin!

    • @martinbuilt
      @martinbuilt  4 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      after looking at the 4.0 mounts for the ZJ it looks like the Prothane mounts should work for motor and trans with a 4.0
      I am in my late 50's and I know what you mean. Thanks for watching.
