My bedroom. I want it to be a place of rest and simplicity.
I just recently went through my desk drawers and realized how many colored pencils I had! I was able to pass on three different sets of unopened colored pencils and still had about 100 different colors left. That alone is plenty for a lifetime, so I added them to my no-buy list

Can't believe you found things to declutter after having just moved into a new house. You're reminding me to keep on decluttering because it is a continuous process. Lastly, now that you have spread out plants thru out the place it looks so beautiful and cozy... even if your personal taste is a simplified space. It's nice to see minimalism can be homey, cozy, welcoming, and beautiful. Congrats to you. 😍

I want to do a general declutter. I feel like I’m always doing this which helps. Give a quick look through of my bathroom cupboards and drawers every so often. I’ll look through a random drawer in the kitchen etc. Great idea on doing a full sweep!
Since I still live with my parents, my decluttering is kind of limited to my bedroom and bathroom, but occasionally I'll go through our extensive movie collection or some other room in the house. I like to follow the same rule as you and ask my parents if they can see themselves using a certain item, and if they say yes, I won't do anything with it. Like Christopher, they don't consider themselves to be minimalists, but at least they try to put forth a little effort every now and then haha ^,^
I have to do the same thing with my family because I hate all of the stressful clutter and so does most of my fam but they don’t know where to start so...😆😂

On the note of gifts, I fell rude decluttering gifts but there’s comes a point it’s too much! I’ll usually keep it for 6 months, if I don’t use it, I’ll then declutter it with hope whoever gifted me it has forgotten about it 😂

I went through my jewelry last week. And by listing them on Facebook to sell, because still new and perfect. I was able to get everything sold and sent off within a week. Some of the pieces were picked up at my house. 😃

Before getting rid of things, see if you can repurpose it! I like to cut up older towels so i have multiple wipes to clean tables, windows, sinks, etc.

You can purchase just a left or right airpod I believe. I'm not sure if it's listed on the apple website, but you can contact support and they can replace it/charge will apply.

My husband and daughter don't throw anything away. My husband has his garage to be a slob, and my daughter can keep all her stuff in her room. The rest of the house is mine! After 15 years and about to do our 4th move which is across the country, my husband is finally downsizing a ton of his stuff. I feel your pain.

Look at A Slob Comes Clean(who has books- "How to Manage Your Home Without Losing Your Mind", and "Decluttering at the Speed of Life") has helped with mindset stuff immensely, she started decluttering her house with no one else on board at all, and they slowly got on board.
The Minimal Mom has a lot of great tips, as does Clutterbug.
The combination of these ladies have helped me so much!
I recently discovered the Hoarder's Heart! I discovered her with the collabs they've all been doing, and it's been helpful

So I know this is possibly counter productive but that soap dispenser? I’d toss the soap dispensing part and keep the glass part as a cute vase/ propagating container. I’m imagining it with a cute green shoot of some sort! 🌱
Apple will take back old stuff. Check their website for details. I have recycled through them before. 🙂🙂

@@lunaleavesme lol!! We currently live in a small 1 bedroom apartment so I definitely relate to what you went through. Our living room is basically a kitchen/living room/office/spare bedroom combo so we have so much stuff all over the place. Whenever we move, we’re definitely looking for at least a 2 bedroom place so his stuff can be out of sight, out of mind 😂

Ha-ha-ha! So funny! I had the same problem with the hair spray bottle as well. (I have exactly same type of hair spray bottle) - min 14:27. Anyway, problem was solved by sinking the top of the spray bottle, for a few seconds, in a pot with hot water. Planet was saved one more time! :)

I find watching these videos so inspiring, but when it comes to it in reality I keep a lot of things because "if I need it/similar in future it's a waste to throw it now and rebuy later" - any advice for this kind of thing?!

Do you know if the right airpod is just having an issue charging? If that is the issue you can gently clean the charging case with a QTip.
I’ve tried cleaning both of the AirPods and the case many times. Unfortunately I think it’s beyond saving 😅
for future reference, you can buy a single airpod by going to apple support :)

I was wondering if you could do some cooking shows… Minimalist of course… Like maybe three ingredients per dish… Those are quite popular, no one wanting to spend hours in the kitchen. It would certainly be appreciated by myself and others.

Awww Bless you Joy. Some things take longer to declutter than others. I hope each morning you wake up you notice that your heart heals a little bit more.
That is sad. Have a day for yourself, offline, focus on yourself, do some things that make you happy. Maybe that will help you clear your mind. Or maybe see therapist , that is also useful
