My grandmother had lots of pictures frames that we kept after she passed. I finally took the pictures out of the frames and donated the frames 🤗

I recently decluttered old “backup” gift soaps, old sunscreen, etc. We never actually use them, and they’re now so old that I wouldn’t want to use them. Working in a food pantry last fall and winter, I realized they’d definitely be tossed out if donated. Even a bag full of hotel soaps were often kind of sketchy. We appreciated getting new, full-sized products a lot more. I opened up space for actual back stock of products we use, and it feels great!
I moved into my mom’s house six years ago and am finally ready to let go of some of her things, as well as some of mine. I’ve been living with two households’ worth of belongings and it’s very draining. I’ve been decluttering most of the summer and it’s feeling really good!
same here and it's so hard bc when i declutter my main home, I think hmmm??.do I need this for the other house so I dont have to pack when I go back and forth...ugh very draining, keep both houses bc one is a vacation home

We are having a baby this December so I have been decluttering every room of the house to prepare. It feels so good to go through everything and get rid of things we no longer use or want!
I have a 1 year old and regret so badly that I didn't do all my decluttering before baby arrived. Instead I spent postpartum frantically decluttering and it wasn't fun! So keep going, it'll be so worth it and your postpartum period will be so much calmer and more enjoyable because of it ☺️

Everytime you upload a decluttering video I immediately start decluttering (doing it right now), you always bring that final boost of motivation I need.

Thanks for another great video Ashlynne! I've been trying to declutter my possessions for over a year now and keep getting bogged down by it. I watch all these decluttering videos, which are so inspiring, but then when I try to do it myself I just feel like I'm making no headway and feel like I need to keep everything 🤦 I know I need to get over that mentality, I just don't know how.

I love your decluttering videos Ashlynne! I could watch you declutter your house every week 😆 It goes to show that decluttering is much easier when you live more minimally and have a smaller place. We are currently in the process of getting rid of about 80% of our stuff - it’s exhausting but also so liberating and empowering! And thanks for getting rid of your stuff so responsibly - recycling textiles, gifting to friends, selling and donating are such great options to move stuff on 🙌🏼💕
Boll and Branch bedding is THE BEST quality bedding. I've had mine for years and they still look brand new. Highly recommend. Price point is a little pricey but it's so worth it for the quality.
P.S. I have one of your watercolors and it brings me so much joy!
Because you said you need new sheets: the brand Peach Skin Sheets--it's an independent business just outside of Atlanta, and the prices are reasonable, the sheets are VERY durable, and you'd be supporting a regional independent business just a few hours from your home!
Thanks for inspiring me with every video! I love the idea of “ruthlessly” decluttering. Just taking 10 minutes and walking around the house with a box - being ruthless - can really make a difference!

🤗I just love how your always trying to sell the items first. My experience with selling was when I jumped into minimalist living back in 2017 and I remember that I was not into the amount of time it took me to sell my big ticket items. This is why I think very long and hard before buying anything no matter how small.
I enjoy my creativity, I don’t keep every little thing I do or make. I hang tight to my experiences and let most of the actual things go. That way I have room for the creative energy to keep finding me. It’s fall where I’m at so I’m looking at the garage / multipurpose room for some declutter and organizing

I am going to declutter my apartment next week, and I will be focusing mostly on clothes, books and papers. I have a really hard time parting with books and papers, so if someone out there have some good tricks or use a special mindset (that works!), I would really like to hear about them.😅

Obsessed with red land cotton sheets in the natural shade. Super soft and they wear really well. Just replaced the fitted sheet and pillow cases after 2 years. We only have one sheet set so they have been used daily and stood up to the test of time. Also kind of local to you and decently sustainable as they keep their whole production to the south Eastern part of the US. I also have the duvet cover and can say enough how much a like the classic ticking pattern.
I struggle to keep my car clean 😓 I was wondering if you could do a video about that.

Someone already commented this, but I really love the brand Peach sheets as well. My husband and I bought 2 sets when we got married in December, we love ours and they are super soft. I think they are a smaller company which would be nice to support as well!
Same thing happened to me. Bought some Brooklinen sheets and they are wonderful. Soft, luxurious and easy to wash.
Cozy earth bamboo sheets are amazing!

Yes, recently I got rid of my IFB washing machine and LG double door refrigerator since I felt those were consuming electricity and space hence I thought washing by hands won't be time consuming and I started to eat fresh food rather than storing 🦋. Got rid of my samsung hd 32 inch television and stand too since it was consuming space.I gave up all even those sparkled joy.
Moving into my home as of today from a caravan so will be decluttering as I go and start a list of my needs and wait till I purchase maybe a month away

Target performance sheets are amazing and a great bargain!
In the process of going through stuff as will be moving so going through each room and clearing out and getting rid if duplicates and clothes that havent been worn or dont fit or dont match the image I want in the future.
The Citizenry has the BEST linen sheets. They're definitely pricey but absolutely worth the cost. We've had ours for years and can't imagine having any other bedding.

I have been on the hunt for the perfect sheets for months. I really wanted 100% Tencel sheets and almost had it settled between West Elm or Ettitude. Today I discovered that Kassatex has a set that is 60% Tencel and 40% cotton and I thought those would be the perfect combination of durability and softness without being too slippery/silky like 100% Tencel. I don’t have personal experience yet, but I have really high hopes that they will be great! They also have a 60 day return policy so there is no risk :)

Try American blossom sheets. They are the best! They take a bit to soften up but it’s worth it.

I use the MyPillow Giza sheets, I have 4 sets they are so soft and comfortable, and they run alot of sales cause they are very expensive but I think worth it

I would highly recommend Canningvale, super nice quality or there is another company called Lorraine Lea, Lorraine lea have a hefty price tag on some of their options, but both companies are great for quality bedding, I'm not sure if you can get them shipped where you are as I know Canningvale is Australia based, but in my opinion, they are worth looking into :) great video! I love going through and decluttering the items I don't use or are warn out, it always makes me feel refreshed and that my space is comfortable for me, great video Ashlynne :) I hope you are doing well :)

You could try "sheets & giggles" sheets that are made with lyocell, a low impact fabric.

We'll be moving (hopefully in October), so I've been decluttering in prep for that. I don't want to take things I don't like or use to our new place. It's freeing! Yesterday I went through my closet and will be donating a lot.

1. I have been watching your videos for a while now and I really thing that you are getting better with each video. I liked your early videos, too, but especially the newer ones are great with the sound. Just one thing, filming bathrooms is great, but filming into an open-lid toilet feels weird..
2. How long did it take you to get your home to this point where you can declutter everything in a pretty small amount of time?

Serious question: How do minimalists balance a life ethic of ongoing decluttering with waste and possible addiction to having the least of everything; is that a thing? I do mean "minimalists" and not you in particular. I'm weighing all this for myself as I've been decluttering (since 12/2020) and making a lot of progress. Hopefully, that makes sense. I'm thinking you have more shorts you didn't show, for example, so you don't need two of the same kind. There is the possibility of wearing one and having one in the wash. Thanks for responding!! 😁

I had no idea H&M did clothing recycling. We JUST had an H&M open up where I live so I'll have to see if they do that. I always have jeans that are too worn to donate but I hate throwing them out and American Eagle doesn't do their Jean recycling program anymore.

I clicked on this video thinking ‘yeah right, Ashlynne is a minimalist, who moved less than 1 year ago. She won’t have anything much to declutter’. Well I was wrong and actually found this inspiring. Although I am concerned that you may miss some things in future, including the travel tripod.

Do you have restless leg syndrome? I do and wear holes in my sheets from my kicking legs every night. I get new sheets at least 2x a year and I do taken medication for it.
