this is why i miss music videos. this is one of the most underrated bands of all time, and underrated music video. to me, i think this video is about the journey of life, from childhood to adulthood, how we get lost in the chaos of expectations (grumpy coach), noise of the world (train), the turbulent atmosphere (rain), that we forget to dream, that its okay to be chase those dreams, and be youthful (exercise movements as a group), and get dirty from time to time (the mud), and fall in love over and over again (girls in red). at the end of the day, you get to the finish line, even if it makes you sick (the vomit at the end), it will be all worth it.
As far as I am aware, this is not Temper Traps music video. There was a competition in which people would make a music video that would eventually become the official

This is what I see: The girls in red occur during these lines: “Keep me in mind. When you're ready, I am here to take you every time.” For me it describes the common relationship between men and women. Women are more often seriously during a relationship than men. In this video the artist describes a man what doesn’t know what he wants while going through many phases (wat you described). Love lost, because the man/boy needed to go through different phases to find out what he needed/wanted. Love was lost, but back founded. Back to the girls in red: when they sing, those lines, they describe the position of the woman/girl in the relationship. They are ready, they are there. The women sing that men need to keep them in mind, because they will wait. Men need different necessities than women. This video describes the phases a man needs to go through, to achieve the same level as the woman to find back love. Running and falling through dirt (disappointments and strength, but also because the women’s walls are up through distant behaviour due insecurity) and therefore showing persistence because they persevere to be on the same level as women (finding back love). Well that’s my view, lol. It shows exactly the differences between our interpretations

I love this video clip, it's one of the best. The way Blink Productions uses the 1970s English school physical education regime is masterful. Lasse Frank really brings the whole thing to life. The clip teleports you back in time and uses the beautiful emotion on the children's faces to stir our feelings as we endure their hardship with them.

Can't remember when was the first time I heard this song but I love it since the beginning and till today, this music and video clip, that it's one of the best video clips I've ever seen, always makes me cry. Been looking for this video for years. I had seen it as a quite little child, now that I'm 19 and I found it again I can't hold back tears. To find again a memory of childhood like this is an overwhelming emotion
I stumbled upon this song back in officer’s school about 4 years ago. It was in the middle of the desert in a place called “valley of the winds”. We had routine fitness tests and whoever ran the academy’s course faster than a certain amount of time got a tiny pin for “fitness excellence”. I got really into running to get that pin, and I would listen to this song in almost every run. Most of all I remember long runs around sundown in the desert track. I’ll never forget the pause at 2:35. Suddenly I could hear my feet crunch the gravel and my breaths and my friends’ breaths and everything else was silent. Just you and a couple of friends making your way through the valley. I’ve never felt so present in my life. Beautiful moments.
My gf of 4 years broke up with me a week ago. Initially I felt upside-down, but surprisingly relieved. We changed throughout the years and she realized it first. We listened to this song when when I was courting her as we were fresh from a breakup with our previous relationship, she complimented my taste in music. Never knew I'm gonna listen to this again, but will hit me differently. I loved her as a partner, and now hopefully as a friend. We're on new grounds but optimistic on finding love again, together or not.
I think they are meant to represent kids who have lives that are too hard for kids to have, from things like abuse or other trauma and hardship, and the adults they grow up into, going through life with a traumatised inner child. The song is about reconnecting with and healing a traumatised inner child, reparenting yourself because you didn't have adequate care as a child, or trying to rehabilitate and heal another child going through the same things. The storm above them is the troubles and chaos in their lives, the run is the hardship of going through life, and they are sort of made to do the song and dance of putting up with everything and trying to do what they are suppose to do. The coach represnts the bad adults in the kids lives, and the sadistic adult critic we have in society and ourselves. The kids at one point suddenly shut down and stop moving and the coach yells "get a bloody move on!".
I do think a part of the inspiration came from the movie "Kes" about a schoolboy in a grim Yorkshire mining town: there's a whole scene where they do PE with a PE teacher who's a total Bully.
This song is a part of my childhood, my mother used to listen this, I'm french so when I was younger, I didn't understand one word of this. But now, this song makes me sad because it reminds me a lot of things. This song is amazing!😊

I stumbled upon this song back in officer’s school about 4 years ago. It was in the middle of the desert in a place called “valley of the winds”. We had routine fitness tests and whoever ran the academy’s course faster than a certain amount of time got a tiny pin for “fitness excellence”.
I got really into running to get that pin, and I would listen to this song in almost every run. Most of all I remember long runs around sundown in the desert track. I’ll never forget the pause at 2:35. Suddenly I could hear my feet crunch the gravel and my breaths and my friends’ breaths and everything else was silent. Just you and a couple of friends making your way through the valley. I’ve never felt so present in my life. Beautiful moments.

My gf of 4 years broke up with me a week ago. Initially I felt upside-down, but surprisingly relieved. We changed throughout the years and she realized it first. We listened to this song when when I was courting her as we were fresh from a breakup with our previous relationship, she complimented my taste in music. Never knew I'm gonna listen to this again, but will hit me differently. I loved her as a partner, and now hopefully as a friend. We're on new grounds but optimistic on finding love again, together or not.

The concept of the video is really brilliant, I have no idea how someone could come up with that kind of idea.
I think they are meant to represent kids who have lives that are too hard for kids to have, from things like abuse or other trauma and hardship, and the adults they grow up into, going through life with a traumatised inner child. The song is about reconnecting with and healing a traumatised inner child, reparenting yourself because you didn't have adequate care as a child, or trying to rehabilitate and heal another child going through the same things. The storm above them is the troubles and chaos in their lives, the run is the hardship of going through life, and they are sort of made to do the song and dance of putting up with everything and trying to do what they are suppose to do. The coach represnts the bad adults in the kids lives, and the sadistic adult critic we have in society and ourselves. The kids at one point suddenly shut down and stop moving and the coach yells "get a bloody move on!".

I do think a part of the inspiration came from the movie "Kes" about a schoolboy in a grim Yorkshire mining town: there's a whole scene where they do PE with a PE teacher who's a total Bully.

This song is a part of my childhood, my mother used to listen this, I'm french so when I was younger, I didn't understand one word of this. But now, this song makes me sad because it reminds me a lot of things. This song is amazing!😊

It's incredible, I recognised this brief spot of land, as someone else pointed out It's springfield Park/hackney marshes. I used to take my son blackcurrant picking here. This made me cry for some reason. I miss you.

I first saw this video at 3am on rave. I was entranced. The radio started playing Fader shortly after but this will always be my favourite song by Temper Trap because of the memory of this odd and oddly soothing music video.
