His vocals on Valley of the Kings were outstanding. Also, a fantastic live performer, He had it all, the talent, presence and looks. Sadly, when his Blue Murder band hit the scene the hair metal and hard rock scene had run its course. He was 2 years too late. He exuded rockstar. RIP John!
Magical player, one of my faves from the 80s, him & Gary Moore, monster musicians, love the first Blue Murder album, if you love 1987 you'll also dig Blue Murder. Rest in peace John.
I first saw John Sykes with Thin Lizzy in '83 and he made a huge impact with his flair and energy. Then later with Whitesnake on the remix of Slide It In and the monumental 1987 album. It was a tragedy he was fired from the band and missed the tours and applause he deserved for his brilliance. I saw the video of Rock In Rio from '85 and he and Cozy both blew David Coverdale off the stage, such was their power. I've never met Coverdale but I wonder if he was jealous of John? Perhaps fearful of being overshadowed by this genius. John was a guitar hero, and also a fine singer/songwriter and his loss leaves a huge empty space in the world of music of any genre. RIP John, you amazed us.
He was David jealous and the story goes John’s band Blue Murder was on same label as Whitesnake so David told the label not to push John’s Band it’s also why I lost all respect for David. How he was constantly going behind his back in firing and getting John’s band to try and fail! It happens look at Dio and Vivian and pay and royalties! Ozzy and Jake E Lee it’s also why Randy wanted to leave Ozzy the money! A lot of greats got screwed and Sykes unfortunately was more gifted than all ! He could Sing better than Coverdale wrote and ripped on guitar he was the triple threat!
Sad it’s crazy looked on TH-cam one other report I had some texts from people I know that knew him. I did not was a fan of blue murder and whitesnake thin lizzy!
So sad.....I saw Thin Lizzy in 1983 at Masten's party venue Kristianopel Sweden. It was the tour Thunder & Lightning. John Sykes joined and played with Phil Lynott, Brian Downey, Darren Wharton. A very good gig with Sykes on guitar. Melodic and seductive feeling on his black Les Paul. I had the privilege of talking to them after the gig. Sympathetic lovely group with a slightly drunk Lynott who still found the right notes in his significant way! A memory for life! Superb! RIP John Sykes
Kinda disturbing for me lol it brings up my mom and me having surgeries last couple years he is 7 years older I may do one later . Not sure loved thin lizzy and Whitesnake!
@jittboy1 I'm sorry about your mom man, no offense to her, and anyone who brings up family needs they ass beat, I was just messing with you. I'm sorry if I hit a nerve, anyways let's get back to talking shit about others opinions and playing skills 😂, I'm joking
@@jittboy1 yes, I lived both the exiting life of a professional musician, and my roots are rural VA, we had weird events happening here, then my family saw a UFO first, I never believed them, they had an up close sighting, I didn't, until I started digging around on my property, then noticed some strange things, then tapping on my windows, and seeing eyeshine and huge shadow figures in my yard, so I started this channel to try to document it. But I have had other music stuff with my bands, and channels, this was just to document my personal experiences only, nobody knows who I am, only a few
It’s him back under alias names lol after being banned references are in case people want to see harassment of comments. Trying to hopefully he goes away permanently! But I don’t think it’s appropriate video to this video after someone just died of cancer?
