Thank you so much for this tutorial! Watching it step by step I've been able to dismantle my Dyson headbrush, but in addition I pulled out the motor as well. Turned out the motor itself had got blocked somehow and even though it did receive current from the main unit, it wouldn't spin. What I did was pull out the motor unit as I said and on the head you have 4 gears, a central one surrounded by other 3 which should revolve around the central gear which in turn spins the rod which drives the brush. In my case the whole system was blocked - I don't know the cause as I ruled out the lack of grease because there was plenty, so I didn't need to spray WD40 or such. So I grabbed some long thin pliers and carefully fitted either end of the pliers into 2 outside gears (not the central one) and slowly forced them into movement and voila! the system got unblocked and now it would allow movement again. Then to check it further I plugged back in the 2 connectors at the other end of the motor and connected the main motor and battery unit and turned it on. The brush motor once again worked! Hope it helps someone.
the bearing on mine, right under the spring loaded thing looks to have gotten rusted out. it spins a few times and stops. is that replaceable? i cant for the life of me see how it comes apart.
