it was rusted on purpose, you can tell by the bright orange rust that it did not rust slowly over the years, this is more grainy form of rust meaning. something was used on it. makes it for a quick and easy video.
Wow! Amazing work! You created a beautiful gem of a piece. You almost have to be happy that Wilton doesn’t produce this vise anymore- it would take away from beautiful tools like this one.
Rusted.. but looks unused, even new. Not a dent in the jaws, the screw looks new. Nothing adverting of it being used for its purpose. Not even sure that was an old vise. Weird initial condition
I bought it from a small factory, not sure if they used it before, but when I bought it, it was in a rusty condition. Glad to be able to reply to you further
Very interesting vise design, I liked it. And I want to note the seriousness of your work, a very high-quality result. Working with files is the longest but most accurate process! Respect!
I can't say your vise is a fake but I can tell you it has several things different than mine. The Wilton font is completely different than any I've seen. The serrated pattern on the jaw face is different and the jaw screws should be Allen head bolts. The rear dust cover is held in with pins not screws. I could go on but you get the point. You did a fantastic job fake or not.
this video is a FALSE, the vise is new rusted on purpose. She has NEVER worked. The thread of the screws is perfectly new, not rusted, the jaws are perfect, there is no hammer mark on the vise body. FAKE video
sorry to give you that feeling... But this vise I bought from a mechanic shop, they don't use it and it's rusted like that... I don't know its history... maybe I was overdoing it with what I had.... Anyway, sorry for the bad feelings
@@mgamga9476 this video is fake as the vise is not naturally rusted: 1) natural rust is irregular, this is uniform even on different steels and in protected positions. 2) the rust that comes with time and from water is not brown / red like the one that has this grip but tends more to black / dark brown. 3) the threads of the screws are perfect, new. Usually these become blocked.

FANTASTIC!!! It is better than new. I have never seen a job done this well, and I have watched a lot of them, it's my pastime.
One of the nicest finishes I have seen.
the wilton is one gorgeous looking vise
Right. Wilton is a vise brand that I really like, but unfortunately I have a hard time finding them
Wow! Amazing work! You created a beautiful gem of a piece. You almost have to be happy that Wilton doesn’t produce this vise anymore- it would take away from beautiful tools like this one.
Thank you!! Maybe it's not the real Wilton, maybe it's the fake Wilton... but the shape of the Wilton vise is really nice.
Te felicito por recuperar del olvido una buena herramienta, buen trabajo 🇵🇪
Thanks bro!!
in the start it looks like a new vice that's been left outside. if you look at the jaws there is no marks on them.
You need the end dust cap, then it's complete. Nice work
What did you soak the vise in after disassembly?

for me this vise was made to rust on purpose with some acid solution.
Ten válec se nemaže, piliny a ostatní nečistoty to vtahuje dovnitř. Maže se pouze drážka. Jinak dobré.
Goodluck baby!!!!!
có cái gì đó sai sai
Thank bro!!! 😂
Ahihi 😬😬
Awesome 😎. Perfect restoration 👍

Yes, using a file takes time, but it's easier to be precise. Thank you for your positive comment❤❤❤

Que hermosura!!!😍
What's the magic solution that you soaked it in to remove the rust?
Nice work
Man you f'ed that poor Wilton up.
I want one of those vises 😢
Are you going to put the tail cap on?
Really nice job! What color and brand is that paint?
Made it to halfway through… then the 3rd or 4th “subscribe” bell went off and that was enough for me.
Làm ơn cho hỏi cái eto thuộc nước nào sản xuất sa nó
What iss the date code stamped inside ?
Need to put a washer between "swivel-locking nuts" and main vise body on the base.
What color did you use please?
I use metallic gray black paint
Metallic black over metallic gray? In any case it turned out absolutely beautiful! Great skills on display.
on the sticker of the paint says black gray metallic. Glad for your interest
Wow 🤩🤩

People could be real dopes sometimes. What a dope. "It's a fake video". LOL

People are morons. What would a new Vice look like after sitting in water for a few months? Unused and rusty.
Всю работу портит винт под крест - немедленно его удалить !

agree , but some product are hard to get in Viet Nam and pricey due to import taxes
Yes. This Wilton vise appeared in Vietnam as second hand. and a lot of collectors want it. it's a beautiful. thanks for watching
oh dear what a mess
