  • Join us in making a rosebud bangle! It's simple to make and uses only ONE piece of wire :) I taped this in real time, so you can see how easy they are to make. We do suggest tumbling them when you are done, to "firm" them up a lot more!
    Basic wire skills are very helpful to make this in larger gauges of wire, but we've had many beginners make beautiful first-time bangles in sterling silver, gold fill and my favorite: rose gold fill wire!
    Enjoy this bead snack, and we hope to tempt you into making some for yourself! As always, if you need assistance, stop in or give us a call or set up a class! If you do make them, please Facebook us with a picture- we'd love to see them!
    Supplies and Tools:
    12 gauge wire
    Flush cutter
    Chain nose pliers
    Bracelet mandrel
    Nylon hammer

    It would be nice if you would have the camera focused on what Amanda is doing.

    it's kinda hard to do this when the video is not focused on the bracelet? ?

    I made one in 16 gauge and one in 18 gauge. I gave mine texture with a ball peen hammer and then I used my nylon hammer about 4 times to harden the wire. I used a 3-way nail file that has fine, medium and rough. It worked perfectly.

      Awesome!!!! That sounds like you had fun AND made something wonderful :). Thanks for watching! We've been doing a lot of work with our brick and mortar store now that it re-opened, and with our website, so I haven't had time to make new videos this year. However, come catch our live show on Facebook if you can, and come say HI! aloha, jamie

    If this was an instructional tutorial, I couldn't see what they were doing. I could see them working, but no clear focus on the bracelet. Bad video

    Great simple idea ring/bangles. Some of the other rosebuds displayed a shell button back, but is a greag way to incorporate small spiral shells. Off top of my head, I can't spell it. I have full polished halves of different small ones I wanted to use as focal for jewelry. I don't want to damage the fossils. I have seen the larger ones with wire run in the center to top or free formed frame which showcased more polished area. I would think this simple rosebud ran in center and formed with a smaller gauge woul accent both.

    Appreciate your suggestion re the flush cutter - when you say a large wire do you mean large than 20 gauges?

  • @youngmuffin24
    @youngmuffin24 6 ปีที่แล้ว

    Would you advise to file down the cut ends and if so what tool should be used to do so? Just thinking the cut ends will be against the skin side and may irritate. Thanks for sharing and looking forward to hearing your advice.

    • @thebeadgallery
      @thebeadgallery  6 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hi!! Yes we do recommend using a half round flie to file the ends down. If you don't have that, then you can resort to using a really heavy duty emery board :) If you need a file, email us at info@thebeadgallery.com We have one that we love that's about $12 and will last a LONG time. Aloha! jamie

    Hi. If you make the bangle size of your wrist, how do you get it over your hand?

    • @kimlyons8550
      @kimlyons8550 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      I am guessing you already have your answer but you do not use your wrist size. You meet your thumb and little finger and then wrap a piece of paper or your cloth tapes measure around the widest part of your hand. That is your bangle size. If you plan on texturing you will need to make a smidge smaller as the metal will stretch.

      You can use all of those... perhaps not the 18 though, as that can "smoosh" easily... good luck!

    Love the idea but it was not a clear video and not close up. We couldn't see how she twisted the wires around making it the rose and where the extra wire was tucked into. Couldn't see her finished bangle.
