    I love the design but it would have been nice if she had talked about how much wire was needed for different length and how to measure for this bracelet.

      I would assume 9" or so to make room for the loop and the hook portion, depends on the size of your wrist

      this! i think i’ll bend it around a bracelet mandrel after making the loop, to give myself a rough idea, then cut down if needed before hammering and flattening the other end, with about 20mm for the hook

    A jeweler's miter jig is very easy to use and will allow you to file your ends perfectly flat with no guesswork.

    Love your videos! In the Gem Bangle video you are using a file. Where can I get that file? Have looked on Amazon already. Thank you much!

  • @thebeadgallery
    @thebeadgallery  7 ปีที่แล้ว +2

    Aloha!! Thanks for watching us! We use anywhere from 8" - 12"
    Depending on the size of the wrist and the size of the loop- but it's easier to start with a longer length than you need in order to have the leverage to pull the wire around the wrist mandrel. Good luck and have fun!

  • @sandyduell2396
    @sandyduell2396 2 ปีที่แล้ว

    Love the detail of the video. I would like to try this. I know you said 8" to 12" but I don't want waste. If I were to do a 6 wrist? 6 1/2 wrist ? 7 1/2 wrist ? 8 wrist? 8 1/2 wrist ? This wire is expensive. Could you share with me the sizes. Again, I love your presentation.

    • @thebeadgallery

      hi! We are using soft 12 gauge sterling silver wire. We don't recommend aluminum, but you can definitely try it! Aloha, Ellie

    Hi I love your video. How much wire do you use for this bangle? Greetings from Mexico 🇲🇽

  • @bethhoyle3033
    @bethhoyle3033 2 ปีที่แล้ว

    Is there a cheaper type of wire that you would recommend that would perform similarly to the Sterling, for practice?

    • @thebeadgallery
      @thebeadgallery  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      We've done it with copper, and it has similar behavior to the soft sterling silver, especially after you hammer it. Good luck and Aloha!

  • @laurieslater131
    @laurieslater131 ปีที่แล้ว

    Hi - I love this but I wonder how do you put on the bangle without distorting the shape?

    • @thebeadgallery
      @thebeadgallery  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Aloha Laurie, sorry for the late reply as I'm just seeing it now! If you use a thicker gauge of wire, like minimum 14 or 12 gauge (my personal favorites) AND hammer it to harden, it shall distort very little to none.
      You can make it round and large enough to fit over your hand, or if it's oval you can add a catch or hook and eye, so that it'll clasp on, and not stretch larger. I hope this helps!! If not, it looks like I could do a live demo!! Lmk! aloha, jamie

  • @laurenyoungs

    • @thebeadgallery

    Can you do this to shape an oval bracelet also?

    • @thebeadgallery
      @thebeadgallery  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      You can! It's a little more tricky to make sure it fits properly, as the round shape is more universal to fit most wrist shapes, but definitely do-able!! Good luck!

  • @sharingthebounty2488
    @sharingthebounty2488 2 ปีที่แล้ว
