Can the device now be powered from the USB-C and not just charged? I am thinking of using this for long-form events where even a 4 hour battery might not be enough. Also does the SIM card support North American networks?

Great video. I have a couple of ATEM switchers that I use. The Yolobox pro looks like it would work really well with the Mini Pro. You could probably feed the Mini Pro into the Yolobox. It looks like the Yolobox makes lower thirds, chroma key, and video clips much easier than the Mini Pro.
I've done just that ands it works beautifully! Four ATEM inputs and take them webcam out to the Yolobox USB input and you still have 3 additional HDMI inputs on the Yolobox!
...plus eliminates having to have mobile power (and extra space) for the atem and for an external monitor when doing on location Livestreams and/or recordings

Thanks so much for the video. I’m a teacher and I’ve been using the atem pro with my online classes but I saw so many things I can do with this device so I bought one. Truthfully I’m so intimidated by the software on the atem. Have you used the Yolobox with Google meet or zoom? I’ve been kind of waiting for your comparison video, but I guess I’ll just ask you. I’m really hoping to be able to save the settings too. Also, will I be able to use the usbc out to my M1 Mac like I did on the atem. What about monitor mode? @@DCAFlyBoy just a hole and a ⅜-16 bolt through it to attach to the ball head. The stand is raised off the table with little rubber feet. Can’t post a photo here but it’s very simple.

Great video! I was an early adopter of YoloBox, then bought the YoloBox Pro immediately the time it was launched. It's very portable and perfect for just about any multi-camera live productions. Definitely a game-changer.

@PhotoJospeph: Nice video! Some answers to your questions/problems: 3,5GB limitation seems to be a FAT32 file system limitation on the SD Card, with ExFat this should not be necessary. And the Blackmagic and Atomos recorders HDMI not working with it, seems likely to be caused by the fact that those devices dont just use the normal HDMI specs, but use their proprietary data encoding (they could not support RAW video formats from camera to video monitor/recorder; Also the reason Sony/Panasonic/Etc. and Atomos/Blackmagic need to manually support each new device for them to work together). A TV/PC monitor just uses the normal HDMI specs and data stream encoding.
@@photojoseph I would need to add that i am not 100% sure, as i dont have the devices in question to confirm this myself, so dont quote me on that alone ;) But as far as i can tell without testing it myself, both theories seem very likely. Great walk-through! I have used YoloBox Pro for multiple occasions and the ease of use always amaze me. I use it with 3 Canon 90 D's and the quality is fantastic. For sure a great streaming system for big and small events.
36:36 Devices running upto Android 10 automatically split the video at 4 GB, but version 11 did away with this. Perhaps the Yolo team were leaning on the side of safety and opted for 3.5 Gb.
@@photojoseph its not really only a android issue because of the FAT32 that some systems even android use - the file system can be replaced or upgraded but old systems does use old filesystems - maybe they will use extended fat or even ext3/ntfs but a usb key formatted with FAT will have the limit from the old days ;) maybe the box can handle extented fat but splitning recording and to smaller files is more secure specially if it records in h264/mp4 compared to matroska mkv (like obs default records in)

You said you didn't know what to do with monitor mode. I use it to record (using "rec" option) w/ overlays when there is no internet connection. I can then upload to youtube later once I have a connection. Also, the SD card management shows you recordings you've done so you can delete as needed and free up SD card space.

I am having a problem with multi streaming on TH-cam and my Facebook page. It won't connect. It only connects to my personal. I check my settings on the page, and everything looks good. Would you ease advice me.
Hey Joseph! I know I've said this before, but I'm going to say it again. You are a great presenter. You speak clearly, smoothly and with confidence. I don't own this device yet, but I do enjoy the way you present products. This is a very informative, full featured demo. Just like your GH5 training videos (which have been awesome and helpful), this is very easy to watch and follow along. As always, thank you for the well produced content! This device looks to be a nearly perfect, full feature, mid-range budget (>$5000) streaming device. The File size limit may be due to the way the SD card is formatted. FAT32 has a file size limit of 4GB.

It was an easy fix...I just deleted the current YT on the yolobox and it load a new one properly. When creating an account with YT, it takes 24 hours to be able to post a live stream. attempting to stream before the 24 hours created the error message. At least that is what it seemed to be. Thanks for you response....good job on your videos...jh
The HDMI output compatibility sounds like a HDCP issue as the devices listed that aren't working are ones that have recording ability. The problem here is Yololiv probably can't legally disable any content protection on the output, very frustrating for those of use using it for legitimate purposes.
Hey Joseph, you say that after creating an "Unlisted" event, I should be able to see it in my YT Studio and be able to edit the description, thumbnail etc. I just did exactly that and I don't see the event over on my YT Studio page. Should it really be working this way? Thanks a lot.
If that’s what I said then yes, it should. Make sure you’re logged into the same account and that the event was successfully created on the yolobox. You’d be surprised at how many people have multiple google accounts and don’t realize they’re logged into different ones on different devices!

Yolobox looks great. Maybe finally a replacement for the dying SlingStudio. I miss 1 thing. A more customizable split view. All my shows are Camera + Powerpoint. But I dont want these to be the same size. I realy need a 80/20 cropping so the camera/person only take up about 20% of the screen, and the Powerpoint the rest. Please take this suggestion to Yolobox. As soon as this feature is there I will buy the Yolobox Pro

Very interesting video for me that I'm new in this universe. I have a yolobox pro and if I want to add a guest to a live streaming show, the only way is to plug my computer as an input on the yolobox and use something like Restream or Stremyard or Zoom ? Maybe it's a strange question but as I mentionned, I'm new to this world. I have a Shogun 7 too but the problem seems to be the same if I want to had a guest.
That's a huge question… how is the guest coming in? Remote or in the same room? What platform or does it not matter? There's a lot of ways and none are easy. @@photojoseph Thank's for this reference. I think my best way is to plug the computer as a hdmi input and make it a two screen monitor as you teach on your video. Maybe with Restream or even Zoom, I'll be able to have a good synchronisation. Audio is on a Rode Rodecaster pro so it could probably be set as an audio source on Zoom or Restream the same way your Atem is. Do you think that Yolobox will add this feature on their firmware soon ? They could ask an association with a provider like Zoom or Restream, I think that is the thing missing on this machine, it could be added as a video source, just entering the login infos of my Zoom account and Zoom display is appearing as a duplicate display of the zoom conversation. I have so much to learn... thanks again for your videos, easy to watch and very straight to the point.
@PhotoJoseph ...After scratching our heads and looking for an upgrade for the aging ATEM Mini Pro, we bought the YoloBox Pro 100% based on your review, and anxiously awaiting delivery Friday. Nice! Yeah totally, go HDMI out to to an HDMI to USB converter, _or_ I think they are about to release an update to add webcam mode, so that’d help too!
26:35 an external mixer can be as simply as my micro mixer which is 4 x 3.5mm input jacks with a 3.5mm output and little volume knobs for faders. The whole things is the size of a credit card and is powered by a little micro usb port.
37:00 i notice that the dji drones also have this 3.5gb file size limit. It might be that they cater to the lowest common denominator of file system format like FAT32.
@@photojoseph I really hope they can address that. Many other streaming solutions can query TH-cam for scheduled streams. This is critical for using YoloBox for clients if they want the chat overlay. RTMP as a workaround doesn't work with chat.
Regarding the 3.5GB recording limit, is it possibly due to the FAT32 formatting of the SD Card? Yolo specifies FAT32 formatting and the maximum file size in FAT32 is around 4GB. Alternatively, it may be a limitation of the Android OS used in the device. Just some thoughts.

I use a Sennheiser AVX wireless. This video has the included microphone, but I’ve since upgraded to a direction lav, the Sennheiser MKE104S-EW Cardioid Lavalier on the AVX. It runs into a mix Pre 3 running the NoiseAssist plugin. This is all because my environment is quite noisy.
Amazing class…thank you so much. I have a question for you. I am working currently with a small budget and I am hesitating between Yolo an ATEM. I want to be able to stream on Mixcloud as Dj and make a live show. I want to be able to stream there with no issues and create on the spot something interesting and dynamic. I want to be able to record and stream. I have DSLR camera Canon and Webcam. I am a MAC user. To stream directly my Dj performance with these two camera device on Mixcloud which one is the best tool for me? Keep in mind that I must blug my mixer directly so that people could here my performance. (Sound) btw I am insisting on streaming only on Mixcloud because the pay all royalties to the artists. It is less hassle for me and I dislike the other platforms. Do you have any suggestions…please
Well, the webcam ties you to the yolobox as there’s no way to connect a webcam to the ATEM. I would have said ATEM wins for audio, however Yolo added an audio mixer in December that I haven’t played with yet. So it might be just as good. The Yolo is probably the better choice because of its portability. You need the Pro for the advanced audio features and line-level input. Those are my thoughts. I've been watching various videos on this device ranging from being released only a month ago to a year ago and it's amazing how quickly the videos get outdated because of how many updates yolobox does for the device. Just a year ago, I think they were on version 1 of the software and now they are at version 3.something. It's not that often you see a TH-cam creator say "they should add...." 10 months ago and watch a video that's only a month old and that feature has been added. It's refreshing seeing a company actually listen to their customer base and quickly add requests features to their product.
Great Product there, I will buy this, the moment we can input powerpoint inside the show. With animation instead of pdf. Also the green screen can it be a loop animation?
I wouldn’t expect native PowerPoint support; can a PowerPoint player run on Android? Connect a laptop or computer playing PowerPoint as one of the inputs. And I think you can key off a video playing from the SD but I haven’t tried!

Great overview of the Yolobox Pro. Answered many of my questions but I still have one: can you add a webpage as a source? I’m wondering specifically if it will work with some of the third-party TH-cam chat apps that are out there.
I believe so however it likely would not work for adding more USB cameras. It might, if there’s not much else going on. The USB webcams take quite a bit of power.
What kind of electric brick should I buy for the Yolo Pro. I bought two for my older-right out of the gate Yolos a few years ago and they did not work. So we've been using our computers. Any advice would be helpful. Also, did you construct your YoloPro Base stand? Thanks in advance and great video!
We need to be able to get more fonts, scoreboard for different sports,timer count down minutes and seconds control not just minute, a mode to see other video source without the delay on non active videos.
For the scoreboard features, tell them! Like I said in the video - they are responsive. But you have to ask them directly about it. As to the delay; I wouldn't expect that to change without a hardware upgrade. That's processing power and while the Pro is more powerful than the original, once you get a lot of sources in there, some lag does appear.
Before i run n buy this I would love to know if ur going live, does it record from the live stream or record from the camera itself Because if the internet is poor then the recording will be poor.

likely an effect done with fusion in davinci resolve. It alternatively could be done in the Davinci Resolve color tab with a layer node and the magic mask. Or a PNG cut out from a video still then overlayed on the edit page.

Basically… freeze frame, simple comp of two layers of video, careful mask around the “frozen” me, layered with an video of static, also masked around the frozen me. The light effect on the remote is the lens flare fx. I tried different ways of doing the static on me that were much more involved and not working as expected, so I backed up and simplified to what you see here.

@@photojoseph its not really only a android issue because of the FAT32 that some systems even android use - the file system can be replaced or upgraded but old systems does use old filesystems - maybe they will use extended fat or even ext3/ntfs but a usb key formatted with FAT will have the limit from the old days ;) maybe the box can handle extented fat but splitning recording and to smaller files is more secure specially if it records in h264/mp4 compared to matroska mkv (like obs default records in)
So it does everything my cell phone does with more inputs and no built-in camera.

You said you didn't know what to do with monitor mode. I use it to record (using "rec" option) w/ overlays when there is no internet connection. I can then upload to youtube later once I have a connection. Also, the SD card management shows you recordings you've done so you can delete as needed and free up SD card space.

Hi, Joseph, i have problem with the audio in my yolo box pro, I connect the cable from my mixer to my yolo box in mic but it doesn't work. How is the best way to connect the audio.
Use the “line”, not “mic” input. And make sure that it’s un-muted in the audio tab.
I am having a problem with multi streaming on TH-cam and my Facebook page. It won't connect. It only connects to my personal.
I check my settings on the page, and everything looks good.

I don't own this device yet, but I do enjoy the way you present products. This is a very informative, full featured demo. Just like your GH5 training videos (which have been awesome and helpful), this is very easy to watch and follow along. As always, thank you for the well produced content! This device looks to be a nearly perfect, full feature, mid-range budget (>$5000) streaming device. The File size limit may be due to the way the SD card is formatted. FAT32 has a file size limit of 4GB.

It was an easy fix...I just deleted the current YT on the yolobox and it load a new one properly. When creating an account with YT, it takes 24 hours to be able to post a live stream. attempting to stream before the 24 hours created the error message. At least that is what it seemed to be.

The HDMI output compatibility sounds like a HDCP issue as the devices listed that aren't working are ones that have recording ability. The problem here is Yololiv probably can't legally disable any content protection on the output, very frustrating for those of use using it for legitimate purposes.
Hey Joseph, you say that after creating an "Unlisted" event, I should be able to see it in my YT Studio and be able to edit the description, thumbnail etc. I just did exactly that and I don't see the event over on my YT Studio page. Should it really be working this way? Thanks a lot.
If that’s what I said then yes, it should. Make sure you’re logged into the same account and that the event was successfully created on the yolobox. You’d be surprised at how many people have multiple google accounts and don’t realize they’re logged into different ones on different devices!

Yolobox looks great. Maybe finally a replacement for the dying SlingStudio. I miss 1 thing. A more customizable split view. All my shows are Camera + Powerpoint. But I dont want these to be the same size. I realy need a 80/20 cropping so the camera/person only take up about 20% of the screen, and the Powerpoint the rest. Please take this suggestion to Yolobox. As soon as this feature is there I will buy the Yolobox Pro

Very interesting video for me that I'm new in this universe. I have a yolobox pro and if I want to add a guest to a live streaming show, the only way is to plug my computer as an input on the yolobox and use something like Restream or Stremyard or Zoom ? Maybe it's a strange question but as I mentionned, I'm new to this world. I have a Shogun 7 too but the problem seems to be the same if I want to had a guest.
That's a huge question… how is the guest coming in? Remote or in the same room? What platform or does it not matter? There's a lot of ways and none are easy. @@photojoseph Thank's for this reference. I think my best way is to plug the computer as a hdmi input and make it a two screen monitor as you teach on your video. Maybe with Restream or even Zoom, I'll be able to have a good synchronisation. Audio is on a Rode Rodecaster pro so it could probably be set as an audio source on Zoom or Restream the same way your Atem is. Do you think that Yolobox will add this feature on their firmware soon ? They could ask an association with a provider like Zoom or Restream, I think that is the thing missing on this machine, it could be added as a video source, just entering the login infos of my Zoom account and Zoom display is appearing as a duplicate display of the zoom conversation. I have so much to learn... thanks again for your videos, easy to watch and very straight to the point.

Can you connect a mixer to the Yolobox via a USB interface like the Focusrite Scarlett 2i2 to get stereo audio into the device?
Can you show two cameras at once? Such as have one camera fixed on a scoreboard putting that on the bottom corner of the screen?
26:35 an external mixer can be as simply as my micro mixer which is 4 x 3.5mm input jacks with a 3.5mm output and little volume knobs for faders. The whole things is the size of a credit card and is powered by a little micro usb port.

@@photojoseph I really hope they can address that. Many other streaming solutions can query TH-cam for scheduled streams. This is critical for using YoloBox for clients if they want the chat overlay. RTMP as a workaround doesn't work with chat.

Regarding the 3.5GB recording limit, is it possibly due to the FAT32 formatting of the SD Card? Yolo specifies FAT32 formatting and the maximum file size in FAT32 is around 4GB. Alternatively, it may be a limitation of the Android OS used in the device. Just some thoughts.

I use a Sennheiser AVX wireless. This video has the included microphone, but I’ve since upgraded to a direction lav, the Sennheiser MKE104S-EW Cardioid Lavalier on the AVX. It runs into a mix Pre 3 running the NoiseAssist plugin. This is all because my environment is quite noisy.
Are you able to connect 4 wireless mics and controll them independently??

Amazing class…thank you so much. I have a question for you. I am working currently with a small budget and I am hesitating between Yolo an ATEM. I want to be able to stream on Mixcloud as Dj and make a live show. I want to be able to stream there with no issues and create on the spot something interesting and dynamic. I want to be able to record and stream. I have DSLR camera Canon and Webcam. I am a MAC user. To stream directly my Dj performance with these two camera device on Mixcloud which one is the best tool for me? Keep in mind that I must blug my mixer directly so that people could here my performance. (Sound) btw I am insisting on streaming only on Mixcloud because the pay all royalties to the artists. It is less hassle for me and I dislike the other platforms. Do you have any suggestions…please
Well, the webcam ties you to the yolobox as there’s no way to connect a webcam to the ATEM. I would have said ATEM wins for audio, however Yolo added an audio mixer in December that I haven’t played with yet. So it might be just as good. The Yolo is probably the better choice because of its portability. You need the Pro for the advanced audio features and line-level input. Those are my thoughts. I've been watching various videos on this device ranging from being released only a month ago to a year ago and it's amazing how quickly the videos get outdated because of how many updates yolobox does for the device. Just a year ago, I think they were on version 1 of the software and now they are at version 3.something. It's not that often you see a TH-cam creator say "they should add...." 10 months ago and watch a video that's only a month old and that feature has been added. It's refreshing seeing a company actually listen to their customer base and quickly add requests features to their product.

I wouldn’t expect native PowerPoint support; can a PowerPoint player run on Android? Connect a laptop or computer playing PowerPoint as one of the inputs. And I think you can key off a video playing from the SD but I haven’t tried!

I believe so however it likely would not work for adding more USB cameras. It might, if there’s not much else going on. The USB webcams take quite a bit of power.

What kind of electric brick should I buy for the Yolo Pro. I bought two for my older-right out of the gate Yolos a few years ago and they did not work. So we've been using our computers. Any advice would be helpful. Also, did you construct your YoloPro Base stand? Thanks in advance and great video!

We need to be able to get more fonts, scoreboard for different sports,timer count down minutes and seconds control not just minute, a mode to see other video source without the delay on non active videos.
For the scoreboard features, tell them! Like I said in the video - they are responsive. But you have to ask them directly about it. As to the delay; I wouldn't expect that to change without a hardware upgrade. That's processing power and while the Pro is more powerful than the original, once you get a lot of sources in there, some lag does appear.

likely an effect done with fusion in davinci resolve. It alternatively could be done in the Davinci Resolve color tab with a layer node and the magic mask. Or a PNG cut out from a video still then overlayed on the edit page.
@@gibblsworthiscool you were right the first time. Basically… freeze frame, simple comp of two layers of video, careful mask around the “frozen” me, layered with an video of static, also masked around the frozen me. The light effect on the remote is the lens flare fx. I tried different ways of doing the static on me that were much more involved and not working as expected, so I backed up and simplified to what you see here.
