    3 things to improve in future firmware.
    1. Monitor out, change it to show only the 4inputs in full screen mode so you can actually see if something is out of focus, similar to BMs multi view out.
    2. Replays. Make it so when you hit replay all it does is save the clip, don’t automatically play a replay. In sports you wait till the round is over to show all the replays, you don’t interrupt the match with a replay. Currently i don’t see a way to disable replays from playing automatically.
    3. NDI, people that use NDI are going to use multiple NDI cams, correct me if im wrong but i only see 1 single NDI input. Its unclear to me if you can use an NDI controller to allow for multiple ndi cams, in either case publish a video on how to get multiple ndi cams working at once, or confirm if you can only use 1 ndi cam.

      @@frankfengzhu for the multi view out, no need to get fancy with settings. Just set it to 4 hdmi squares. The ability to also sub out an NDI source in place of hdmi would be great. Oh and audio meter if possible only showing up if audio is on for the hdmi input.

      @@frankfengzhu Be cautious with the Replay suggestion above as there could be unintended consequences of changing it. In some sports, we would like the reply to play automatically just as it is now, and not wait until the end of a round. If both options were available then great. Also great to be able to play the replay instantly in PIP mode as the game continues.

    Great job going over the Ultra, I found all the information extremely helpful, the only issue I have with the unit is audio sync, although they have made an improvement with the latest firmware update its still not 100 percent, that and poor touch screen sensitivity has stopped people I know from purchasing it

    It's a great concept and great technology but all of the YoloBoxes have a problem of jumping frames in the stream as well as the recordings. Not professional enough for a smooth video experience and honestly i'd not watch a stream like that. I taught with the new processor they'd be able to fix that but looks like it's still the same as the other. The smoothness of the video is the only thing holding me from buying one.

      Aaron or Frank.. what can you say about this?
      Since early Yolo days, I've heard ppl talking about stability issues or glitchy UI. But Aaron's demos look pretty solid, and the user base is growing.
      Is this essentially a solid product that ppl need to know limits on? Or is it less reliable and nobody is talking about that?
      Even the ATEM mini series has been plagued with reliability issues when streaming and recording in certain environments, but as a switcher it has been rock solid for me and invaluable (I just dont stream with it)... although some will swear it has never failed them streaming or recording.
      What can be said about Yolo, honestly, with regards to reliability/stability, and this claim of frame losses during a stream?

    Not buying until there's Streamdeck support with macros to make it on par with the ATEM Mini. Touching the screen, especially when it's attached to a tripod with a camera just introduces too much camera movement.

    • @VDeeO_Buff
      @VDeeO_Buff 6 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Seems like a great product and I would agree, Streamdeck support would take it up another level. I would also be a little concerned having to operate it via touch screen on a tripod or when up on a temp stage, etc.....better get those sandbags or tripod clamps out! Wouldn't be a killer reason not to get one, just an inconvenience to plan for. Am currently just reviewing various options before I decide on unit to go for, but loved the review. Definitely helps.....seems like it might even give the LiveU a run for its money.

    Hi Aaron!! I hope you’re doing well and navigating the end of the year without too much stress! I would really love some advice on how to create an at home setup. I am looking to be a freelance broadcast meteorologist at home. I want to know if there is any way I could use this to broadcast across tv stations around the country, but I know most stations use either LiveU, Tvu or Dejero. Those are the most popular, but I’m hoping this could replace all that and be a great alternative option!
    I want to connect the Ultra to my dslr my 5D Mark 3 camera and I have a wireless rhode mic, and green screen setup as well.
    However, I’ve read the Yolobox Ultra is mostly intended for social media live streaming like TH-cam, Insta, Tik Tok etc… and not so much for on-air cable tv streaming. I would love to know more about your experience with it, any help would really be appreciated on what I should buy!! I want to have my full setup my mid January, thank you so much!!🙏🏻

    Question: (Thank you for the review) I have access to an ATEM mini (original not the pro) that I use with OBS, I've been getting pro jobs for streaming conferences and seminars with virtual guests and on set guests, I need to upgrade my gear but the budget is tight since I am also upgrading cameras (I will be getting Panasonic Lumix S5 ii since I already work with panasonic cameras and also do video and photography work) I'm interested in a setup that can handle "supersource" or equivalent, and graphics, I have been thinking of getting the Yolobox Ultra since it offers a lot of features even 4K streaming for almost the same price as an Atem Minie Extreme ISO and it is ery portable and fast to setup, but I've seen very unfavorable comments on Yolobox's (Pro) reliability for streaming in professional settings, I don't mind audio issues with internal mixer since I mix audio externally with digital audio mixer, I'm interested in your (anyone) opinion about getting this Yolobox Ultra for this type of work or what would you get knowing the budget to be tight, or would you get something like the RGBLink Mini Edge or any other video switcher.

    May you can help with some answers.
    1. Did the audio form a local video automatically mute other audio sources? .... and will audio automatically change back to Audio with e.g. comes from HDMI ?
    2. Is it possible to fade in and out titels/graphics or just cut it to live?
    3.Understand right that you can only stream to ONE desitination .... if wanting to stream to more than one destinantion it is necessarry to sign an subscribe to psid Yolocast (which quite mor expensive tha restream, e.g.) for doing this?
    4. is there still a latency in the preview of the inputs?... which looks horrible and it is not practicable for professional broadcasting.
    5. What is the maximum bitrate for streamimng at H264 on 1080p/25?

    Ok but here's my question.. is the only camera input option HDMI? Can tou connect wirelessly through wifi, mobile hotspot, ndi hx? I stream kids hockey games from the rink amd have three cameras all around the rink thay currently run through my phones hotspot, but cell service isn't always the greatest in rinks... there's no way i can run 100ft of hdmu cable across the rinks everytime. If all they can take is hdmi that severely limits their use and is not worth the $1800 here in Canada! No way not even close

    • @aaronpk
      @aaronpk  7 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Yes, this is just HDMI input. You might want to look at wireless HDMI solutions, there are some affordable ones (tho I'm not sure if it would actually work at 100ft) th-cam.com/video/7gJA2BCSeY8/w-d-xo.html and there are some around $300-500 that would have no trouble at that distance.
      The other thing you could look at is a completely wireless kit like the Mevo Start 3-pack: th-cam.com/video/BLPmTRNJjyo/w-d-xo.html

    • @sibertiger17
      @sibertiger17 7 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@aaronpk that's actually what I use! Is the Mevo 3 pack... problem is the hotspot connection in the rinks is always spotty due to the metal buildings and they aren't the greatest quality, have to stream out at 480p or sometime 720p if it's a strong signal because the cell hotspot can't handle anything more. I was hoping this box would upgrade the whole solution allowing me to use actual cameras instead. I'll look into those options, but here in Canada it's always at least twice the price! I'm also about 60ft from each camera while I run the middle one. Thanks for replying!

We opted for the EMEET StreamCam One cameras, because we could get them in a three pack. The problem we’re having is that the Ultra can only access one of the EMEET cameras if I plug in more than one of the EMEETs into the Ultra. Do you have any suggestions for us to resolve this issue? Any idea what’s causing the conflict?

    As someone who has done many many many Live Streams for TV I can say that Yolo is just a toy. The fatal flaw is that everything is stuffed into one small box. IF... and I mean IF this small box freezes... for some reason... IF it happens 5 min before going live for a client that paid say 6000 euros... That means you are DONE as a streamer for this client and for the town you operate in...
    And I have seen reviews on Amazon that Yolo does freezes or bugs out occasionally. And it is normal because it is a digital device... They all act weird at times.
    The only workaround I see is having 2 Yolo Ultra devices and 1 extra Yolo mini with 2 inputs as a last backup...
    Moreover... it is simply uncomfortable to use touchscreen. You never know what will you hit - small "plus" icon or the title box underneath it...

      @frankfengzhu 8 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      There are two cables in the package. The USB-C to USB-A one is meant for USBC Webcam out feature and the USB-C to USB-C cable is meant for charging. (Sometimes our users mis-use them and creates the confusion. In some cases, the USB-C to USB-C worked somehow.) Are you in our facebook user group?

    • @JohnTrembley
      @JohnTrembley 8 หลายเดือนก่อน

      I am not on the Facebook user group.
      If you have a MacBook with only USBC ports, how are you supposed to connect for the webcam mode? I tried a USBC to USBA adapter and that did not work. I finally got it working by connecting the provided cable from the Ultra USBC 3.0 port to a USBA 3.0 port on my CALDIGIT TS3 Plus. I still experienced some issues with applications not seeing the webcam and having to reboot the laptop. This would not work for me long term as I want to be able to use it in multiple locations. I have to believe this is a strange issue related to my specific Ultra given all the reviews I have seen with people using with their MAC.
      Why would this not work using the USBC to USBC cable connecting into a Thunderbolt 4 port which is backward compatible to USB3.0?

    Great Video, a couple off things worth noting. I believe Yolobox Ultra now can support up to 3 NDI inputs and If you use get a USB C Touch Screen Monitor, you can make it a 2nd Larger controler with Touch input and the Preview. This feature is very appealing to me for making a cleaner desk. I could then put the Yolobox Ultra and all the cables off camera and just have a USB touch screen on my desk to monitor and control it.
    I would love to see an option come out for VFA (Video follows audio) So then you can have it auto switch camera depending on who is talking. (Assuming you put the mic on camera.)

    Will it stream at 50fps as well?
    If I replay the video around 46:34 in slow motion I noticed that 50fps is not shown as an option.

      oh yeah strange, there's no 50fps option! They have 25fps and 48fps, so I don't know why there isn't 50!

    Is there any way to use it with a stream deck? It would be useful for things like instant replay and scoreboard but I do not see any module in companion or stream deck plugin store.

      You mean the number of inputs and outputs. Currently only one input and one output and we are planning to add more soon. NDI is relative new for us and so far our implementation has been successful!

    Looks good, as an existing yolo box mini user though I would want to know if it’s best to upgrade or just add a black magic switcher to the existing yolo box mini I have

    • @aaronpk
      @aaronpk  9 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Adding an ATEM is definitely an affordable option. The main difference will be that you won't be able to make split screen layouts on the yolobox since all the cameras in the ATEM will look like just one camera in the Yolobox. And the split screen options are way more limited in the ATEM.

    • @elitepropertiestoronto2979
      @elitepropertiestoronto2979 9 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Only getting the ULTRA for 4K and portrait mode… the yolo pro couldn’t handle production without hiccups so I use the pro for live video editing not live-streaming, just a simple overlay and program out recorder. I use the atem extreme iso to do the heavy lifting … switching and iso recording. Saves me a ton of post processing work, and alleviates camera recording lengths at 30 mins although have 4 cams now with no limit but still super helpful Atems just run with little issue, the ultra I am hoping goes into a full 4K system but not sure which black magic system to run rack mount studio 4K or the broadcast tv 4K. Just hate BM. Sdi interfaces everywhere, and like adobe they make easy difficult so that they can sell you more crap. So car hound it depends on your use case, mixing the yolo and atem works extremely well negating both systems weaknesses.

    • @frankfengzhu
      @frankfengzhu 9 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Also depends on how many occassions that your live production doesn't need a dedicated desk. If I run a production studio, I'll have at least keep a Mini and Ultra.

    Hi Aaron, can you record vertical and horizontal video at the same time with the ISO recordings? Also, does the ISO recording capture the audio from the HDMI sources if they are muted for the Program feed?
