On another note, I read an interview where Ed talked about having to maintain his levels for shows like this, Mock The Week, Taskmaster etc and how much extra hassle and stress that can add on top of the pressure of recordings... yet he still manages to be a first class little shit 😂 I genuinely think it's quite impressive, though. Whether it's podcasting, panel shows or hosting, people are always gonna expect a certain level of energy from him which I'm guessing sometimes he simply doesn't have, yet you can never tell.
I think he's said adrenaline helps him a lot of the time but it does make me laugh/roll my eyes when I see someone claim Ed's on something on Taskmaster cos they notice his pupils are dilated in some studio shots 😂
Interesting never thought about that really. Does he have an insulin pump/ a patch-pump or is he doing it manually they seem very common in the USA now for type 1 diabetics? Ignore if this is too invasive!
@sophis9453 he's still mdi but he's got a g7 currently I think as he's done a lot of stuff for dexcom and helped with their campaign to make them available on the nhs. I remember him saying he tried to get a pump a few times but was told he was managing everything "too well" so was denied one🙄
I think you can tell sometimes on his radio show that he hasn't got the energy but that could also be due to the early mornings haha. He has mentioned he's having a hypo a few times tho!
As someone who hosts events and has had Type 1 Diabetes as long as Ed has, I can tell you that it is regularly both tortuous and terrifying to manage it in a public setting. Worse still because it makes absolutely no sense to the people around you, so you learn to keep it to yourself and do without a support system. I have absolutely no patience for jokes about it, and it's so tragic (and familiar) to see him quietly beg his comedy friends on national television to please understand that it is a serious condition. And even though they know him so well they don't just can't really believe him, because a big part of managing it is hiding it. I recognize that awkward, subtle plea sooo well. You can't be too insistent about it because it looks like you're making a big deal out of allergies or something.
wow. I can’t believe that bunch of old men mercilessly mocked that poor innocent little type one diabetic. In my day bunches of old men kept to themselves and would never think to mock a poor innocent little type one diabetic

Is this how you do clickbait? (No roast about Ed's type 1 will never be as great/brutal as Phil Wang's roast on roast battle and I am saying this as a type 1 myself 😂)
Mate the only thing remotely accurate about the title is the type 1 diabetic bit lmao Although if Ed's anything like me with my friends he will milk the slight age gap for all it's worth 😂
@@IsthisastepI mean it's not inaccurate. Ed is the youngest there. I think Ed is 36 nish and Acaster 39 and josh 42? Not 100% sure (and too lazy to look up 😋) and it's not much but you are technically correct I believe 😄
@SongaDay-pz9hd Ed's 38, he's only a year and a bit younger than Acaster and even less for Nish. Though yes if we're doing it by the logic I use with my mates, even a few months older means they are OLD BASTARDS 😂
God this is genuinely extremely offensive and it must be awful for Ed Gamble as a comic because he can't be a buzzkill about it. Worse is that he is *constantly* seen by fans as "deserving it" because part of this comic brand is to tease people about things that are not their disabilities.

"Ed every meal's a Gamble!" Is phenomenal
Poor Ed, he's never been the same since that fateful day when he fell into the Thames.
I have never been so aware of a haircut as I was of Richard Ayoade’s at 1:47.

biblically accurate title

"OLD MEN" 😂😭
CRUEL how could they do this to someone so PURE
My fav part is acaster's delighted point at 1:32 - just childlike joy at his mate getting mocked
watching this video made me realise how much acaster, (every meal's a) gamble and kumar are all a really tight friend group
Title giving major r/peoplefuckingdying energy and I love it
I'm diabetic and this is nothing compared to what I got in school. 😅
Comedians insulting each other when you know they're friends is so much funnier (also see Ed Byrne and Dara O'Briain)
Reminds of Jimmy and tax jokes.
Jimmy's Yearly Tax 🤝 Ed's Insulin levels
A problematically small amount
...what?
