The question on Pakistani migration and its impact on Pakistani children. Historically, Pakistan was the region where migrants came and went. The ‘Gandhara Civilization’ was called a bridge between East and West for a reason. Historical figures like Alexander the Great, Mahmud Ghaznavid, and Babar have come to what is Pakistan today first to go to India. This puts Pakistan today in a unique but disadvantaged position as our history and culture is influenced by ‘other’ civilizations. Yes, we have Mohenjo Daro and Harappa but our glorifications are aligned with the Delhi Sultans, the Mughals and even the British. Coupled with an unstable sociopolitical and economic climate, Pakistanis are forced to migrate to other countries. It looks like the tide is going the other way. The continuous moving has a psychological impact on the child as he/she cannot figure out a sense of belonging. Even moving from one neighborhood to another constantly creates a sense of lack of safety. Parents need to discuss with their children about their migration plans and give them the safety and nurturing environment they deserve. No child has to live in a one-bedroom crammed space in a foreign land.

1:07:08 : Will we always be migrants? Jab apna mulk strong nahi hota, toh ye har nasal ki migration hoti rahi gi to balance our values with the safety of our surroundings. This will forever be the burden we carry. I did my O levels in Karachi, A levels in the UK, have a British passport & currently reside in the US on a green card. I moved to the US because my husband is American. I've only been in the US for a couple of years & my husband and I are thinking of having kids in a couple of years & often think of moving somewhere in the UAE & also foresee sending the kids back to the US/UK for university etc. So if we do end up doing this, there will be this constant moving around that will span the generations. That said, there are lots of people in the US that also send their kids to Islamic school ( it's a private school that tackles the usual curriculum plus an Islamic education) but that requires being in a Muslim dense area and not every state has muslim dense cities & those same cities become targets for islamophobic violence during certain political phases & with the US gun culture that can get very scary. It's not easy. It's exhausting. All this moving around also disrupts the process of setting down roots in a place & keeps you in a frenzied unstable state where every generation repeats the same cycle of moving around a couple of times. I don't wish this upon anyone, but I also recognise what a privileged problem this is to have, since so many Pakistanis can't even get out of Pakistan and the way the country is going it's not looking good to say the least..

We are unkind to our Indian brethren and if this takes a solid mark in which we side with China altogether, it would not work based on the fact that we are unethical. Unkind. We share the biggest border with India. Our skin color and our language is similar. We have a history together. Dont vaporize it. We would not prosper. If we partner up, both the countries have a lot to offer each other. Would China allow its division? India gave us that part. We owe them in one way or the other. Done leave each other empty handed over petty issues. Logistically, it makes sense to partner up with India. Besides the ethical reason. Then you reach for the stars that is China and other countries. Walking away from India though would be a huge loose end.
