The only difference in this timeline is that no research would've been conducted on Sting. They wouldn't have known it's weakness or even it's existence. Eight Legged Freaks is safe, Sting sucked. Everything, or at the very least 60% of the entire movie is the little girl's fault. And there's a part towards the end where the girl goes "everything is my fault 😢". And the step-father goes "no, no it's not. none of this is your fault." Bro, WHAT? She raises it, feeds it even though it's obviously not normal, is told by a biologist that lives in the building "it could be venomous" and she's "No! No it's not!", the girl gets mad at the biologist for telling the father, gets mad the father because the father rightly says it could be dangerous, ...but somehow even though she doesn't know what kind of spider it is, doesn't look like any spider she knows of even after Google search, knows it's very hungry and grows BY THE LITERAL HOUR, is already the size of a large grapefruit, keeps it in the apartment where her infant brother also lives, ...but sure, it's totally harmless. I was very sad _SHE_ didn't die. Movie sucked.

As a stepdad myself I really related to Ethan, being a stepdad is a difficult road due to the potential lines you may cross. I was super surprised at how much I liked this movie, I didn't know it was an alien spider before I watched it. Highly recommend.

Exactly! I find myself saying "poor guy" every time the dad has a scene because everywhere he goes he gets tortured. From the landlord not paying him and evicting his family, his daughter lying and hating him for getting to know her, his wife blaming him when things don't go right and telling him to lie to his daughter, everything he try fix, breaks again and lastly getting paralyze and electrocuted to death and revived. This man is having a bad week and killing one giant spider is not fix any of these things!

The entire globe has military forces stationed in North America. Things like tanks are now fitted for less Anti-Tank purposes and soft fleshy purposes. New York is a hellscape of bombed out Manhattan covered in spider webs. Forrest Fires are being purposely made at this point. Signs of the spiders adapting, becoming stronger and more resilient. Reports of spiders being able to move across the oceans. Anti-Air spiders are made and flying spiders. I genuinely love the idea of a 80's action movie idea. Being made in the modern day, but with modern budgets.

(not too insane, he's just a little dumb) -Pyro: He or she is a menace a psycho, he burns everything and everyone down withour rumours mainly due to the goggles that tricks him into doing these terrible acts. -Scout: Probably the youngest in the group, he's fast, and wears a hat and headphones. -Engineer: Has a hard hat, creates machines with firepower. -Demo man: A black, one eyed, scottish man. -The tenths class (he was removed from the game after released to the public, I think) Two teams Red and Blue. Eight Legged Freaks had a short film on its DVD extras that uses a lot of the same techniques this movie uses, this movie feels like a worked out version of that short, but I still enjoyed Sting, it's a great movie for a rainy afternoon

Thought this was gonna be about a scorpion when I saw the title because it was the first thing that I thought of that could sting things and then I was pleasantly surprised to see it was a spider movie. I love spider movies.
Well then! I was set to totally ignore this one but a Spider creature feature WITH practical effects!? I guess I'm gunna have to search where to watch this one.

There are a few movies these past years that are good horror intro movies for kids. I would say this is a good one.

Think you’ll be doing a video on The First Omen (2024), Chris? I thought it was quite good, the unraveling mystery, the setting, and especially the use of 70s horror camera work! Excellent prequel to the classic Omen franchise.

You should cover pet from 2016 i don’t know if it’s a hidden gem but I don’t hear much about it online it’s a disturbing thriller/horror that really subverts your expectations from its name and premise

Only thing I didnt like about this is that it was a massive Aussie juncture with a mostly Aussie cast... yet we place it in New York! Just make it based in Brissi or Sydney
Eight Legged Freaks had a short film on its DVD extras that uses a lot of the same techniques this movie uses, this movie feels like a worked out version of that short, but I still enjoyed Sting, it's a great movie for a rainy afternoon
