The first minute of this video made me not even care to see a recap of the movie. But listen to him burn it for 25 minutes straight is totally worth it.
My issue is that the worst thing that can happen in a pool is that someone drowns/dies… yeah it’s scary but the stakes aren’t something unknown like in most horror films. Talk to me had the tension plus left us with the question of what was going to happen to our main characters if they fell in too deep. A lot of horror movies are missing that element now unfortunately.
This movie would've been so cool if it was about a pool that transports people to different places. It would've created some pretty good tension if say, the mom saw her kid swimming for one minute, then when she looks again, the kid is gone.
To be completely fair I have seen security footage of children drowning in very busy pools. People would notice and assume nothing was wrong and go back to their business. No one really expects anything to go wrong in a room full of people, it’s a weird contrary.
Yeah, years ago I noticed this child floundering around and bobbing under the water of a public pool during an open swim, so I jumped in and dragged the kid to the surface. He was 100% in the process of drowning, his parents were like a foot away but thought he and his sister (who was also just next to him) were playing around. It's super scary, people can drown in a pool full of people because swimming and drowning look very similar.
@@melodi996 100% this. Lifeguards don't look for waving arms and cries for help. They look for kids that crank their head backward, face to the sky. It's a panic response to keep the nose above water before they inevitably sink.
Haunted baseball field? That’s a good idea. Field of Nightmares. A baseball field built on an ancient tomb harboring a demon. When the stands reach full capacity, the demon will be released to consume their souls.
I wasn't really looking forward to it, but when it came to it and I went to a screening of it, I gotta say, Night Swim really is one of the horror movies that came out this year.

i thought the same thing about the spring water being released into the city water and thought it could make an interesting scenario where everyone in the town start to be influenced to make sacrifices for the water entity, kinda like "The Crazies" type event
As a fully disabled combat veteran, I deeply resonate with the sentiment expressed about the frustration of being unwell and feeling defined by one's condition. The filmmakers clearly did their research, as anyone who has faced illness or disability can attest that such experiences often shape our identities, at least for a period.
Everyone is talking about the Are You Afraid of the Dark episode about the ghost in the swimming pool, “Tale of the Deadman’s Float.” Nobody is mentioning that it takes elements from the episode “Tale of the Dark Music,” where you sacrifice a person to a demon in the basement to get your wish
This video should have just been "Haunted pool, bad as you think. Have a great evening." Roll credits. What an awful idea. The real shame is it will probably make money. Maybe enough money for them to make "Bad Pool 2: Kiddie Pool Boogaloo"
I'm sorry, I can't help but laugh over the fact the fact Rays sacrifice is supposed to be seen as heroic, when really he knew that without sacrificing El to the pool he'd never play baseball again, and since he wasn't going to kill El anymore he'd rather sacrifice himself and be dead 😂 he's still putting baseball above his family, and would rather be dead without it

I'm VERY forgiving when it comes to movies i see in theaters. If I spend money to see it and energy to get to the cinema, I'll find the bright side. So I'll say I enjoyed the acting, especially of the mom. Otherwise, "The Shining in Suburbia" was dead in the water. Also, I legit just walked out of "Imaginary". The exact same scene with the teenage older sister inviting the boy over to serve as the reason we see the creature in action is in that movie.
So how would the family explain the husband's disappearance in the end? Most horror movies just leave that up in the air. What will you tell the police or his parents? The haunted pool took him?
