These were the days.....best MNF crew ever, obviously. Man, this takes me back to childhood and the beginning of my love affair with football. Begging mom and dad to stay up a bit longer to keep watching...lol.
Right there with you… I still get goosebumps hearing the intro. SO GLAD I grew up in the 1970s. I basically only watch football from this era for the most part. Today’s game is extremely hard to watch.
Thank you for uploading. I know you sometimes don't have control over it, but it would've been awesome if it still had the commercials. There's nothing better than sitting back and watching a complete game as broadcast from back in the day. For 3 1/2 hours it's just like 1978 again. But thanks again for the upload, you got most of the game, the intro, and the halftime. That's still pretty sweet.
Walter Payton is easily one of the best all-time Running backs to ever lace up a pair of cleats. His "Sweetness" nickname only scratched the surface of just how amazing he truly was. I was so lucky to have been able to watch some of the most amazing and iconic running backs ever. Walter Payton, Barry Sanders, Emmitt Smith, and a few others who were great but not like these guys. My guys were John Brockington & MacArthur Lane, also Larry Csonka and Mercury Morris. Eric Dickerson was another. Also aside from the great NFL backs, I got to see some of the most incredible runners to play for the Wisconsin Badgers football team, and there were a lot of them! I know the passing game has "taken over" the NFL, BUT there was a great opportunity to see pure smash mouth, in your face, black and blue style football whenever the 🐻Bears🐻, 🦁Lions🦁, and the ⭐🤠Cowboys🤠⭐ played. Add the Washington REDSKINS with John Riggins to the mix and you had some powerful games! I forgot one of the guys in this game, Chuck Foreman! Another SMASH MOUTH RUNNING BACK! Great memories of some Hall of Fame caliber players!
Yes they were . I was 10 years old. Loved football, i played in Grammer school and high-school. Loved these announcers. Turn out the lights the partys over. Glad merridith stuck around long.
I never thought too much of this announcer group when I was young. Being able to watch these games again, I've come to appreciate them more. Gifford was not the greatest ever, but he did a fine job and I enjoy when Don makes Howard laugh. If Golden Richards had stayed healthy, that trade might have been one of the biggest steals in Bears' history. Dallas got two draft picks: 5th rounder Bob Hukill in 1979 and 3rd rounder Bill Roe in '80.

Sammy White clearly only gets one foot down. Don tries to discuss it and Howard says it’s clearly a touchdown. Different times back then for sure.
