I have one of these and it is great! Yout don't buy this because you want a big Suva, you get it for your family's needs. It's not a piece of shit, it's a family car and it supports my family's needs better than another car in this segment today. I would know I drove most of them.
I own a base Traverse (LS) and I love it. A little low on gas mileage, but this is a heavy vehicle. I agree with most of the comments in the video, especially the rear wiper button. But this is not a SUV, it's a crossover, i.e. it's built on a car frame, but because this frame was designed for this vehicle (unlike most crossovers or even small SUVs which are built on an actual mid-size car frame) you can tow 5000 pounds! I would recommend this vehicle!
I know I'm 10 years late, but bought one last week and I'm actually surprised of how it handles for it's size. I went from an old 2001 mini van which could only tow 2,000lbs to the traverse with a 5,000lbs and actually the Traverse does get better gas mileage than my old van.
I have a 2010. I wish i nevef bought it. I love the inside & it's plenty of room but in a long run everything is hard to replace. I do not recommend this car to anyone.
@ammomeister no, people buy it becuase its a reliable car good on gas and looks ver nice inside. fully loaded one of these is 38,000 plus tax 40,000 so this wont fade and crack under weather. 98% of reviews of this car is a 5.0 for every catagory including reliability. ontop of that people who take pride in there ride buy this because of the quality, this is not a cheap car you just pick up for 20,000 to 28,000.
My 2010 had its share of problems, 4 rack and pinions for one thing... but it has stabilized and has become a very reliable car that I hope I can keep on the road for several more years.
We are lo9oking at trading our 2004 Pacifica in about 2 weeks. We have 3 young kids, (ages 9,7, and 4), and we'd like to get a vehicle where we can have our 3 kids sit side, by side in the middle. Does the Traverse come with a bench seat, or 60/40 split seat in the middle?
My daughter-in-law has a 2009 and it's a piece of junk. The 3.6L engine has timing chain problems. GM used this engine for 10 years (2005 - 2014) before they did something about it. It has been in the shop numerous times for different reasons. Don't buy any GM vehicle with a 3.6 engine. It looks nice, drives nice, has plenty of room, but that's as far as it goes. If you want a GM 6-cylinder engine, find something with a 3.8. They're great. I drive a 2002 Buick Park Avenue with a 3.8 engine and over 183,000 miles. It still runs and drives like a new one and gets really good gas mileage. 30+ on the highway and averages in the 20s.
With my growing family I'm in the process of trying to decide which vehicle I want...I feel I'm still too young for a mini van (lol) so am down to either a Chevy Traverse or GMC Acadia
1st brand new car I have ever had and 130,000 miles on it and the motor is blown. Drove it out of town one day and the next it wouldn't start.Head, pistons, timing chain and broken spark plugs. It was paid for...never plan to buy another car and now have nothing. Tow guy told me 9 out of 10 cars he tows are Traverse 2010,11,and 12...all with motor problems. Sucks.
The Grand Cherokee is only a two-row SUV. The Traverse is a good family hauler. So, if you got 2+ kids, and you have to pick up their friends? This is the one you get.
dont buy this year 2009-2012, at least not without warranty. ENGINES are CRAP. and lots of recalls that you have to ask them to do. wire problems. just look at any forum
It's a terrible car on ours the seats don't go back in place easily one of the windows is broke it has power terrain management issues it makes a lot of electronic high pitched noises the ac went out and the dealership cough cough (stealer ship) wants 300 dollars to fix the window and ac these cars are trouble and all they do is give ridiculous amounts of money to fix the cars to dealers
@chevroletfan17 exactly these are for people who don't take pride of their ride just to get them from pt. A to pt. B. These plastics eventually fade and crack under the weather just like them cars produce in the 80s & 90s.
Until this guy stops reviewing cars, I am not watching consumer reports videos. I might not even buy the magazine or even I might not even read the magazine even in free libraries.
Biggest piece of crap I’ve ever owned. Problem after problem. From power steering to struts electrical windows head lights to timing belt all before 100,000 miles. Avoid this car!
just another ugly, piece of shit crossover, killing the mighty SUV, i gloat at these as well as aver crossovers and those gay Priuses when i drive my 99' Suburban

These still look good in 2021.

And so did Consumer Reports. It was ranked 2nd on the list behind the Toyota Highlander for best family SUV.

NOPE! that engine will shit the bed at 70k.
245 k on mine and still going
170 on my 2012. Haven't had one problem yet.
@@gradytaylor3940 Nice to know. I’m thinking about buying a 2012

Before the recall was made, our rear hatch would reach the top, then come crashing down on whoever was standing there. Scary shit
We love ours!

Jenn Rose well the traverse is basically a mini van with no sliding doors
You don't ever need to get an ugly minivan
Do anyone know which relay is for the fuel pump on the 2010 traverse
@jeffsandychelsea - Agreed, what difference does it make?
You forgot say Buick enclave is a luxury SUV
The plastic up there may be hard but who is going to touch up there every time they get in.

idk if it is just bc my traverse is an ltz awd but it averages 16mpg. gets 21 max. Still better than my burb though
Still a great bargain
I'm a music head and it sucks that i can't connect my amazon music to it.

aunt just bought this, good car
I don't understand why everyone is suddenly obsessed with soft touch plastics on the dash.

good review..
Why not just throw sliding doors on either side and call it a minivan?
Floaty boaty gas guzzler! We have a 2017 as a company rig for work! It floats its heavy and the gas mileage is terrible..
My mom has a 2009 Chevrolet traverse
Lambda base engine (traverse, acadia and enclave ) big pile of junk . I know coz i own one. I should got Highlander or Pilot .
poor gas mileage
Cherry traverse It is a piece of sh*#$ you are here to think about buy one don't do it

I've never traded in a vehicle in my life until this one
Really bad transmission issues also
My bf just bought this and think he won a prize. I’m just waiting for it.
@@Mercifulkingdom update,?
My choice this care
Not a reliable vehicle.
It is a piece of shit and it’s a Recall
Consumes say they are POS’s 🤷🏻♂️
Wow this car is sooo boring the camry of crossovers
it's a piece of garbage.

So according to you everybody should drive the ugly Suburban
Lol I feel you.
Get a Grand Cherokee, this "SUV" is so bland

no no thank,,,

Total garbage engine, electric systems. After 19 years driving Chevy, I'm done.
Chevrolet=part out/junk
