Yep. A trophy truck is reaching a cool million. Thing is, someone with a dirt bike can enter with hardly any cost overall.
@@brandoncaldwell95 On a dirt bike it gets at least to about 10k , with prerun, chase crews, hotels, etc.
@@Andres-lr2wd Thats cheap bud. I can go out and drop 10k in 2 seconds. Takes at least 2 years before I could spend a million unless I go buy 100 acres where I live.

I don't know about Trophy's but PreRunner's are legal and are the closest thing to a trophy you will see, they are amazing too.
They do drive on roads for many parts of the course. They even get pulled over for speeding on the roads. So, yea, they are road legal in the areas that they are running and they do need to follow speed limits on roads.
I don't think you can buy them just like that u have to build them but they r pretty expensive to buy and build

Previous legendary Baja 1000 champion has navigator die despite finishing, vows never to race again. A few years later there is a perilous multi-terrain race and a team needs a mentor to train the team to ensure the win. His best friend recommends him and despite not wanting to get back into the cockpit of an amazing trophy truck, he's somehow put into a position to race. HAHA I'm just saying. Something like that. A full budget cinema with a great cast and a lot of powerful trucks
Trophy Trucks are awesome and all but Class 11 and Pro Moto...Absolute TopTier and only Chads. Nothing can compete against these two. :D
Also...I would totally camp there aswell and just look at them passing one by one. Must be really chill aswell.

Baja is not a rally! Baja is a race. Doesn't matter whether point to point or loop. Race has prerunning and uses gps to go as fast as possible. Rally is about following a paper roadbook of symbols as fast as you can without getting lost. A rally is more about navigation!
@@gijsheeremans9732 Yes Baja is point to point as in A to B, start to finish, one day. One run. Dakar is a rally. You misunderstood my definition of point to point. But yes you can say Dakar is technically point to point but its in stages navigated over a couple weeks. I raced Baja I know my facts. The tech is way different too. Baja you "race what you brung" Dakar you might have stages of no pit crews but most of the time you have time for full pit service off the clock. Vehicles get stripped down to the cage to get fixed. Baja you get 1 minute stops or you lose. Not bashing either, both different animals.

xcrash34x word. A log jam at a hill climb at mile 55 would set us back almost 3 hours. Broken chase vehicle on the hill climb with no possible bypass. 1132 was the only 11 to make it up with no assistance once a local got that chase off the track.

Yeah. Baja racing is more like Le Mans but the drivers battle through fatigue and physical pain because of the brutal terrain. Even with big shocks

Sorry to say this, but viewed by Europe, Americans are ulways emphasising whatever they're doing, indeed, Dakar dethrones since a long time and for a long time Baja. Which is still a great competition tho

I recall chasing the race one year and in the morning we came across an asian rider with his bike on the race track and asked us "where is the road". We said, "youre on it guy this is the race course." He said, "no the road to get home" (he wanted the highway). I think he was the guy that night that popped flares and his team never found him.

Hard to finish? Just saying when my dad was the manager of the truck for the rod halls that truck would win win win, they alll finished but any truck he was in charge of and built won and was insanely durable because he over built shit.Team hummer was on the GM proving grounds and my dad worked there and built tf out of those trucks for him. He wants to do it again but no college so hes stuck just being the manager fab there at the GM proving grounds. Rod Hall and Chad Hall always fought over him and they always won..... RIP Rod youre a legend.

How do they refuel
Yeah there's like pit stops in during the race where they can also do maintenance and stuff.
You have chase crews, once you stop refuel and maintenance they find a good part to stop for you and them and find the shortest way to get there and beat you to the point. My dad ran Baja 1000 for awhile in the class right below real trophy trucks 5 years ago. I used to track him and watch him take off all the time.
