I'm not usually one for races but there's something magical about a trophy truck leaping across the sand kicking up dust that gives me pure joy.

I"m a mud bogger kind of guy but watching those trucks soak up those bumps at high speed is hypnotic! 😳👍
and the landing.. its smoooth no bounce at all!
Rocky mountain crawler guy and ATV/UTV desert guy and those suspensions are just insane! Its 60k to turn my truck into nothing that can do that (250k -1 mil is the real price on some of these beaut's.[Edit: just for the suspension systems]
Skimming whoops flat out is always my favorite thing to watch. Seeing the suspension working while the driver is feathering the peddle and trying to stay on top of them.Idk it's just something about man and machine and when it's done correctly...Magical

I will never forget going down there in the olden days with my older brother and his cohorts .
They tried to use me as a scout for the car. One thing they failed to realize was brand new 490 with an extra tank behind the front plate .
I’m sure the course is much rougher now.

The Baja 1000 was born in 1967 and was only interrupted by a fuel crisis in 1974 and resumed in 1979-2024 (Nov). No problems with spectators, the drivers are used to driving with them on the road, you can come, feel the adrenaline and enjoy.
Passenger said take it slow we're on the rough road..driver be like what rough road.😅😅😂

In Orange County at the Pomona short course races Robby went up into the bleachers to chat with his wife or something but I accidentally scared the shit out of him ! I saw him walking up the stairs right next to me and I stood up quickly and kinda excited maybe a little too loud I yelled “Robby Fucking Gordon!” Ah man the look on his face.
Robby Gordon is amazing. He's been in so many forms of motorsports.

I got three whiteness Wade Conway, Bill Carne's and Warren Thomas .Clear back in the 90's I was sayin these trucks need 44's! And hydraulic drive !. Back then they were just getting into running 35's.Now there are 40's! Haha!Keep goin!Another thing,air intake system - must have a forward facing collector that's bigger than a dragster above the caba little,full width of the cab,faster you go free forced induction you'll be backin off the throttle at hi speed .What I would do it have a trap door on the back of the housing that the navigator can operate mechanically so after the siltbeds when your up to flight speed again can be opened and closed to blast out the dust from the filters! Fuck ya !and I'd get big filters like off a D10 or something..

@@The-fs5wn In the lower spec trucks, 750-900 is a good middle ground. In Unlimited, 1000-1500 depending on supplier is the norm. There were a few making 1200+ at the wheel this year at the Mint.

Ya It's the other way around although I do like watching the dakar but ya the fastest truck or car int dakar couldn't hang with these trucks.
Maybe there should be a trophey truck class in the Dakar.. how cool would that be..

I am surprised the motion of the rear suspention of the tracks! I am really interested in the rear suspention settings of those tracks because they are working increadibly well though they seem rigid axle suspensions... I only can guess that they have much longer suspension arms than the production models and very nice shocks...😮
Yea and they can tune the suspension to have different bump stops, compress fast but not have the springs too soft that they’re hitting the bump stop and maxing out, and then also having them rebound fast so that they pop out almost instantly so they almost just form the bumps in the road with each tire while keeping the body sturdy and not bouncing you outta your seat lol
