- Have you wondered what it's really like living in the tourist town of Branson Missouri? Like any other tourist town it's always undergoing changes but at the same time it's very exciting to see something new, and it's terrific to see it always trying to improve. With a small population compared to the millions of visitors we get, we definitely have a "build it and they will come" mentality. There's great opportunity here, no doubt about it! It's beautiful and there's so many awesome things to do, so many interesting and friendly people. Living here has been a unique experience. So in my video I'll be talking about how to get around Branson and avoid traffic, What locals like to do, a little about Branson Schools (visit my old school and see how things have changed) Plus see how our shopping malls have extended our tourist "season". Oh by the way I'm a Realtor, so if your interested in real estate you can contact me through my site carrie.bransonhouse.com
Some images were used from ExploreBranson.com a great resource for your next vacation.

Terrific!. This was the type of video I have been looking for on TH-cam. It seems most of the videos about Branson were put together by the tourism board. Keep these type of videos coming.
Thanks! I know right? I totally agree. Thanks for your comments
Omg yes I agree!! Moving from Texas soon and I’m glad I found this video. My kids will be going to school there. This is the info we need! Thank you!
That is so nice to share about the place you want to live in. I really appreciate that because you've given everyone an idea about what is Branson Missouri is honestly, I've been thinking about that place since one of my neighbor are both a retiree in they mention about the area of Branson and also the state and I've been watching a lot of reviews which is I really really like it I am tired of Arizona I'm tired of the weather and also I am tired of the population in here it's getting really really chaos and it's getting expensive. I want to convince my husband to retire in that state because of all the good things and the weather is not that bad.
Hi Maryann! Thanks for your comment. You are right our weather is not that bad..yes we have storms, we have a little snow, beautiful fall leaves, hot summers and pretty spring flowers..but I always love the change in seasons! Hope you get to come and visit Missouri soon!
We moved here 10 years ago from Texas….we love it. We do go down the strip about once a week for fun,Christmas is beautiful, people are wonderful , lots to do,we are seniors, great for any age…the only thing we miss is the big name country singers that used to come here!
I miss them too. It was so much fun to see them in person back in the day!
We bought a second home at Ridgedale 5 years ago. Maybe this video will help me convince my better half to move there now that we are retired, thanks !!
I hope so! Ridgdale is a great area! Thanks for watching:)
I live 2 hours from branson love going there. Probably been there over 40 times or more
You’re stunning! I’m 26, visiting for the first time next week, thanks for the backroad advice 🙏
You're very kind! I hope you have a great trip and you're welcome!
My wife and I bought our vacation home In Branson last July and Carrie was our realtor, absolutely the best ! Thanks Carrie !
Awe thanks! I hope you're enjoying your new place!
Love Branson❤
Lived there from 1993-1998 and loved it. The 60 minues interview just aired a year before and the big boom had just hit. Tourist and entertainers were coming from all over. I lived at Fall Creek Resort and we knew all the routes to get around traffic. That is a must! Great town.
The 90s were an awesome time to be in Branson. I remember all of that happening! I use to get in all the shows for free by just showing my paycheck stub when I was 16 lol... fun times!
Great video Carrie!
Thank you so much!
Thanks for this great video, I’m thinking of relocating to Branson west Missouri or surrounding areas not sure which area been looking on Zillow
I can help you with that. Send me an email at carrie@bransonhouse.com
Taxes or high, been there before they did away with so much of the senerie. All the major music stars have died or retired.
You were in 5th grade in 85?!!!! Time has been very kind to you... muah
Thank you for the kind comment! Yes I'm generation X I guess!
@@LivinginBranson is there any way you could connect me with the information of how easy it would me to move into the area and secure apartment living affordable on disability and score a gig as a bassist at one of the local venues
@@shyfawxproductions There are some low income apartments here that are really nice based on income. Are you bass guitar player you say? I would just call some local theaters and see if the are auditioning for the season. Now would be a good time to do that.
Lots of great insight in this video! Nice work!!! 🤘
Hey thanks! Glad to help!
nice video...
Hi Carrie. Thanks for the great videos and all the valuable information. We have been considering a move to the Mountain Home, AR area in the coming year but you've piqued my interest in the Branson area. What would be the pros and cons of Mountain Home compared to Branson? We love outdoor activities including kayaking, fishing, and hiking.
thanks I emailed ya!
Foreal I even got a job my first day moving there
48 never looked so great.
I go to Branson every year I have a condo there
I really like the mirror maze it’s fun!
I know what it’s like, i live in Branson MO / Missouri. I mean there is not that much things to do here, I do like it here though. It’s actually pretty good!
That's awesome 👌 it is a pretty nice place to live.
Just like 270 in st Louis
We go to Branson every year and for us it’s about an 4~7 hour drive but it’s worth it
That's great! Glad you enjoy it here:) thanks for watching🙂
I been thinking of retiring there, I have been there in 2005 it was en eye opening experience that I really want to move there.
How is the economy and how's the medical field?
Hi Antonio, 👋 the economy is good and there's a need for people in the medical field. We have two hospitals in the area, Cox and Mercy.
I want to move there and to rise a family 😊
I want to stay away from the big cities especially Los Angeles which I live in and it's absolutely no way I want rise a family that includes like Las Vegas, St Louis, Dallas and so on.
@@antoniobotello4996 yes, most of those cities are not kid friendly unless you can afford it. You'll have to check out our area sometime
What is the resale of properties if I was to not like living in Missouri after a few years, how’s crime for someone who leaves November to February
Hi Robert, Resale is generally good because of so many wanting to retire here. I feel pretty safe here, although no area is immune from crime. The city of Branson/police dept can give you that information. It's very quiet Nov to Feb but a nice break for locals.
Can you do a video on local produce markets and open air flea markets? Places where visitors can spend their money outside of town?
Great idea! 👍 I'll add that to my list
Carrie, you are an agent of the crown right ?
Carrie, the shots of the high school made me cringe. My aunt died in the fire back in 1958 at the school.
Hi Carrie! Wonderful video! I have learned a lot about Branson and the surrounding area from you. We are near retirement and are thinking about possible places to move to. We currently live in the Portland, Oregon area and want to move to a region that is a lot more affordable than here. What is the best way to contact you to talk about Branson and the surrounding areas?
Hi! you can reach me on my cell phone at 417-230-3957. My email is carrie@bransonhouse.com
What are the property taxes on your home? What is the tax rate per 100,000 owned? Great video.
Property taxes vary but are generally low compared to other states. On single family homes lets say for a 3BD 2BA its usually 1000-1500 a yr.
What does that single family cost - $250k?@@LivinginBranson
At least yes
Stopped at 4:41, to make this comment. If there are 4789 students then 40% of the population is school age. Is that possible? Maybe the school includes a lot of students that are not part of the population. I also figure there are a lot of retires there, which means between them and the students there are not many people of working age, wierd to me.
I see your point..the population with a Branson address is 11,526 according to latest Google search, but Branson school district covers a lot of areas in the county like Rockaway Beach, Merriam Woods, Walnut Shade and part of Saddlebrooke. There are 2 school districts in Taney County which are Branson and Hollister. So the population of Taney County from the 2020 census is 55,533. This might give you more of a true perspective. Thank you Steve!!!
I saw that Branson is where they filmed the show "The Walking Dead". Maybe someday somebody will buy those abandoned mansions and land and fix it up.
I hadn't heard anything about that? I just learned the show Ozark was filmed in Georgia so now I can truly say that it's nothing like the show. lol! thanks for watching
Not bad place to see . I my self can't see haven a home in less it's a farm . Still looking .
I would never move to Branson but that's just me.
Hi!!! Excuse me miss, Im going to do my work and travel program in Branson Missourie. But I have a question, Is there any public transportation there? Or how can i move inside this city. Can you help me?
Hello! In Branson there is no public transportation. You can get around easily by foot in the downtown area, but there are no grocery stores downtown, so I think it would be difficult for day to day living without having a car. Springfield is a larger city with a public bus system.
How easy is it to find a rent?
Hi, there's usually a few rentals available at a time but not a lot lately, it depends on your price range too. If you would like to email me at carrie@bransonhouse.com I can connect you with a rental manager.
Branson needs more mechanic stations for auto repair.
I agree! I usually go to Ozark/Springfield. There are a couple good ones here but we could use more!
Is it safe for black families. Was looking up places to travel and there were a ton of racial prejudices that pulled up in Missouri. We booked for stillwater resorts and now I'm second guessing.
Yes there are many different people of every color from all over that visit here during the summer. I would say much more now then there was 20+ yrs ago, of course things have changed .
You'll love Stillwater Resort. I've stayed there and it's amazing!
@@LivinginBranson thanks for replying appreciate it.
@@LivinginBranson we're looking forward to it
I wouldn't risk it, there was a issue a few years ago where the locals protested to protect a store that had connections to the kkk, I wouldn't risk your family safety and take the chance, at best you will get constant dirty looks, at worst you and your family lives may be in danger from a far right psycho, with all the shootings going on in the country, it's not worth it, if you must do missiouri, stick with springfield or stl,
Just doing the math: if the average age of residents is 57, and more than a third of the residents are children.... that means the rest of the residents must be pushing pretty high up to move that needle to 57... interesting! It also makes me wonder if lots of grandparents are having to raise their grandkids.
Not exactly... Branson school district covers the whole northern side of Taney County in other towns that don't have a "Branson address" the population number I'm mentioning in the video is for the town of Branson. Thanks for watching!
Will my family be safe there , how much diversity ?
Overall, I don't think I'd mind living there for maybe a year or 2 (especially to make use of "all" of the major attractions and things to do), all things considered. Especially when I retire and start collecting SS (or earlier, if I somehow have enough saved-up before then to retire early), particularly to, say, have a good chunk of 'regular' money coming in that an apartment or small landlord would probably expect to "see" before renting to me (including maybe staying in an extended-stay Branson hotel for a few weeks prior to getting that room or apartment). Particularly to avoid having to drive multiple trips back n forth just to get a place set-up prior to moving there FT for "good". If I somehow have the cash then, I suppose I could get a house or condo (or townhouse), but... who knows. But... I suppose anything could happen in 30 years or so!
Probably most 'optimal' time for me to move to Branson, I'm thinking, would def. be retirement, be it in old age with SS and some extra money saved-up in my bank account, or just early retirement in general with "loads" of money (if I'm lucky enough for that to ever happen to me). Not having to work a job in Branson (or 2, god forbid), where the job market, from what I hear, "sucks", while having all or almost all of my time free to myself, would def. be awesome (less having to drive in "shitty" conditions, esp. snow and the like in Winter)
I suppose Hollister would be another option, for lower living costs or whatever.
I suppose it'd also be great to get a high-paying WFH job and move there, but... again, who knows! I'd probably have to "really up" my skillset to get a good one that doesn't involve annoying customer service-related crap! I do have a bg in 'clerical' and data-entry related stuff, but... that doesn't seem very 'likely' in terms of high-paying jobs, esp. remote (especially ones that don't involve any dealing with customers or customer-related stuff). My current data entry job is 15.50/hr, which isn't bad- especially since I'm pretty frugal- but who knows how often pay increases will be! And my previous office job prior to that (2018) made, at its peak, like... 12 bucks an hour, lol. My other, past set of jobs are warehouse, which... are easy enough if you're relatively 'fit' (and young), but... can be really exhausting and a *huge* hassle, ngl! I did that for 3 years, and I'm so sick of it
hi how are you?
