One place I'd recommend from my trip was a cafe called, "Vintage Paris." Besides being a nice French themed cafe, it's across the street from a scenic view roadside stop. The view overlooks Branson's valley from a high hill/mountain point.
I went in 1987 and returned October 8, 2024. It's so fun. I was there for a week and saw 2-3 shows a day and the restaurants had such good food. I want to go again. It was so much fun.
I am going to Branson in December - first time and can't wait! On a side note, you gotta check out Slick City which is an Indoor Dry Waterpark in Chesterfield, MO which is about 1 hour from St. Louis. I am going to check this out as well in December. It looks so fun! Def something you would love.
The scenic train is not that scenic except for a spot at the end which is just a few minutes. I thought it was a waste of money. The one in Grapevine, TX is bad too unless you want to see a lot of urban graffiti.
I have been to both. The one in Branson is nice, especially if you have kids, but it’s a little pricy for how small the aquarium is. The one in Springfield is incredible and you could easily spend half a day there for not much more money.

My 1st wife and I visited Branson three times in the 90's...haven't been back since.

This was helpful. I think I might be heading to Branson next year. If not, 2026 for sure.

The “river” that you keep mentioning is Lake Tinney Como
Appreciate the info

For political reasons I have stopped going to Disney World. Branson and Gatlinburg seem to be great alternatives.
Thank goodness there will be fewer people like you at the Orlando parks when I go! Thanks for your sacrifice!
Thank goodness Orlando is pretty much the only place in Florida for people like you.
Branson USED to be fun up until it turned All Corporate!
Overpriced!!!!
I am curious, as I have only been visiting Branson for a little over 10 years. Which attractions or parts of Branson of yesteryear do you miss?
