Honestly, when the rocks started falling I legit thought the Firmament was going to crumble and crush absolutely everyone, turning the Neutral Ending into just another Bad End in disguise. Given how SMT works, I wouldn't put that past it.

Burroughs was the spirit of the gauntlet. The goddess of tokyo was a child for most of the game. Burroughs was not. Therefore Burroughs could not be the goddess.
He becomes the final boss for the DLC, still pretty disappointing that they didn't make him the final boss of the neutral route. I was so hyped after seeing masakado's true form and going "WAIT, IS HE THE FINAL BOSS?! FUCK YEA" then the credits rolled passed and I'm like "wait wha-"
The girl that turns into a woman at 9:00 looks and sounds a lot like Burroughs, doesn¡t she? She was the Goddess of Tokyo, according to STEPHEN. Thanks to Omega's efforts in reuniting Mikado and Tokyo, she has revived and returned to her true form. Also, STEPHEN said she created Burroughs based on a dead person, and since you were trying to revive a dead deaity in the Neutral route, then I assume Burroughs was a Goddess (THE Goddess) all along.
Yeah, I felt the same. I like to think it's because we see that his interest in Tokyo was born from his own fascination for the culture; he never really hated the Unclean Ones, and the defeat of Merkabah made him realise that his authority meant nothing for his worth as a human being over the citizens of Mikado, or even Tokyo.

So let me get this straight... 4 endings, 3 partners, each representing a pathway for the main character to choose from... Law, Neutral, and Chaos. The 4th ending, the Bad Ending, need not require one... Jonathan = Law, Walter = Chaos, Isabeau = Neutral.

It's implied that Stephen designed Burroghs as a copy of the Goddess and then programmed her into the Demonica Gauntlets to gather data. 25 years ago a man sided with neither the Angels or Demons and defended Tokyo from utter destruction. Then the man was reincarnated as Flynn and Burroughs watched him make the same choices, and stand neutral. So Stephen chose him to be the one to revive the Goddess.
Researching wine, nice to see you've got priorities figured out Hugo. And Masakado is truly huge. Love that. XD The developers of SMT favor the neutral ending in all their games. That's why they make players work hard to earn it. The message I got here is tear down the wall that separates one another lest we wish to live isolated in the dark and close off our fellow man from the light. Thanks for yet another great run of a great 3DS RPG, Omega. I can't wait to start Xillia next week myself.
Never got into the tedious work of getting the Neutral ending, but I'd like to thank you for doing all these videos, so I could see them for myself, even though I didn't get to experience it firsthand... And I'm not the only one who thinks the endgame credit music seems somehow extremely fitting and loves it, right?
2) The Chaos and Law endings have the angels or the demons under their will, but in the neutral route, Omega defies them both to create his world, a world where both believers of Heaven and Hell will merge so that the sky barriers that enforced them in will be shattered like the Britain Wall, where in the other endings, the barrier remains untouched, therefore is not the "true" ending, even though he is hailed as hero in killing Lucifer or live in a chaotic world with Merkerbah's death.
Thank you very much omega, I had lots of problems trying to take the neutral way because I played with my heart... But I realized this is a good ending too, ;D
i always like getting the neutral ending when playing megaten games bec it always makes me feel i'm choosing my own path or belief instead of choosing obvious paths given by others( i.e lucifer's chaos,yhvh's order, which have both negative outcomes for me, anarchy or slavery ), and besides you get to pawn both demons and angels at the same time, now that's awesome..
Except in Nocturne's TDE... The characters were complete pricks.. Besides, Getting to fight a planet-sized Lucifer as the final superboss(with 65535hp, the peak value of the int number system) is fun(tedious/mind breaking on higher diff)
Many years after doing that ending and I realize that not even this ending is 100% happy. Flynn still had to destroy his entire 1500 years old culture and homeland, part of Tokyo (you saw those huge rocks falling, don't tell me nobody or nothing got hurt with that shit) and move his people to an entirely foreign country bringing up problems this kind of mass migration. The fact that they brought their people to Tokyo might help preserving a bit of their culture, but almost all of the landmarks, places and documents are completely destroyed now. And all that not considering the fact that, once again in the series, you had to kill your friends. They sorta killed themselves before that, sure, but you would still feel bad for killing those eldritch abominations knowing that part of them used to be your friends. Also you're reminded by both of the eldritch abominations that no matter what you do they will come back regardless due to how that universe works.There will always those yearning for the things those demons and angels wanted and they will come back to answer to those desires. This ending maybe fulfilling, but when you start looking at what was lost to achieve this and the other caveats you start realize the true nature of this pyrrhic victory. This ending is kind of fucked up.
yeah, I agree, personally this ending is better than both apocalypse's endings because they were either too sweet, because all your friends and Mikado survive or too ambiguous when it's not being dry like killing all your friends and every named human and reducing everything the player worked for in IV to ash leaving nothing behind of the old universe to make a new one that is largely ambiguous this ending has clear ups and downs downs because of what you said and ups because now humanity is free from demons for the time being
Well, after beating the Chaos route is nice to see a happy ending for Isabeau, the most heartbreaking part of any of the paths is seeing how basically only Flynn remains of the 4 friends, 2 of the msacrifice themselves for their goals and Isabeau kills herself to prevent getting killed by one of her friends.
I love this game I have beaten this game like 10 times the story to me is wonderful and it made me feel connections :) but now I don't have my 3ds anymore I can't play it :(
I feel that. Luckily I completed SMT IV neutral path before my 3ds got killed by my kids' bubble mixture bath. Probs going to emulate apocalypse to check it out but I'll miss how the game 'feels' on its original hardware.

Down the line most likely as she is impressed with Flynn very early in the game and drops many hints that she has fallen for him. Her words on Chaos/Law merely cement that she wanted to walk the same path as Flynn. Luckily she can on Neutral and gets her happy ending with him.
They are. Burroughs is based off the Goddess of Tokyo and was sent out to find the reincarnated Hero, who followed the same path as the past Hero(Past Flynn), to revive the Goddess of Tokyo and to return balance.
Actually due to the actions of the MC and Issabeau, the people do indeed learn, thus they live in peace together. Plus, what's an SMT game without Lucifer.
There's a few methods to encounter the fiends semi-quickly... I've run into four of them so far myself. But yeah, it takes a lot of reloading, and a little bit of luck. Will you get a video of the other NG+ bosses such as Azazel and Mastema? I do believe Mother Harlot is one as well, but I've yet to do NG+ Chaos to find her.
Isabeau got everyone in Mikado to move to Tokyo knowing it'll be destroyed once Masakado awakens so they'll no longer live under the absolute order of the angels and YHVH
Hope? Yes, because having to, as you say, defend yourself is a very hopeful future indeed. Yes, I bet they cant wait for the another armageddon war in the future between the armies of law and chaos. See, here is what I like about characters of law and even chaos. They have ALREADY confronted the world for what it is and CHOOSE to do SOMETHING about it. Instead of ignoring the issue, they want to conclude it. Eventually, either Law or Chaos will reign supreme.
Neutral really could be seen as the best ending. Why? Because humanity has hope. In the Law and Chaos endings Humanity lacks an actual driving force, being controlled by either God or Lucifer. In the Neutral Ending humanity is forced to stand on it's own feet and confront the world for what it is. And the people of Mikado aren't insects, they'll be able to defend themselves.
Yeah.... definitely like this ending a lot more. Isabeau is alive, Hope is restored, and everything good with the world (for now) Now, I'm curious what the Protag and Isabeau will do now after all this craziness. Have a family perhaps? Would be nice.
I'm three years late, but all you're doing is postponing the conflict between law and chaos. You just push the problem onto your descendants by choosing neutral.
I think it's the little girl you encounter before you meet Stephen. they explain it throughout the game but I think she's supposed to be like a goddess or something.. I just got to Tokyo in my game..
Yes, because destroying Lucifer and Merkebah, becoming an Icon the people in Tokyo can rally behind, and uniting two peoples as one is "ignoring the issue". Masakado flat out says that Flynn only won a temporary peace, however seeing as Flynn was resurrected once already to reestablish peace it's safe to assume that during the next conflict he'll return anew. The world is not absolute, one force cannot rule over another.
That's why its cool in the Law route, because all of the 4 friends die in the end, sacrificing themselves for his/hers beliefs. It's definitely more climatic.
They only exist as long as at least one person believes in them. SO if no one existed to believe in them, they'd cease to be. Or at the very least be drained of all their power, and be the only two beings left in existence.
Well, in Devil Survivor, Remiel and the angels seem much more bro like and will even help you in neutral routes. Lucifer in this game seems less charismatic then in previous titles and doesn't seem to like you unless you go with him. But you are right in aspect of previous games, he usually is a bit more forgiving for neutral paths and characters than God does.
Actually, the Ashura-Kai disbanded after Tayama's death and most of the former members are dead and the rest are willing to help rebuild Tokyo due to Flynn since he is the Champion of Tokyo. The Ring of Gaea is still up, but there aren't as many members anymore. Some of them think that Flynn pretty much proved that their philosophy (Social Darwinism) is correct since he defeated Lucifer and the rest are planning to leave the faction to help rebuild Tokyo back to normalcy.
Well, since God created humanity and the universe, it would be very illogical to assume he would be dependent on believers or be drained of power. Having believers probably just allows himself to be revived after a defeat.
That is true, however as the White return you to your reality before anything happens we have no clue what the result is. At the core of it I prefer the ending where Humanity is given control over their own destiny. Even a temporary freedom from the war between Chaos and Order is a boon to humanity, so they might live as they wish instead of obeying the whims of either God or Lucifer. Hope may be a fleeting thing, but while it lasts humanity prospers.
Mikado was literally above the ceiling that covered Tokyo. By removing the ceiling, Mikado ceased to exist. That's why Isabeau was trying to convince all the people of Mikado to move to Tokyo.
1)I begin to understand the endings have the same dialogue but is modified by the route of choice, such as, "You have leaded the Lord's Chariot to such desperation", meaning that Omega himself had lead the angels/demons to the present state, which after the leader of the factions (Merkerbah or Lucifer) begin to start the words for Omega to finish the enemy he created. Soon after, I notice that the voices of the original hosts. Walter/Johnathan begin to say the last words before oblivion strikes.
I just wanted to add though, if you beat Ancient of Days, it will show God bringing "arks" down to start a new world, with a new humanity. Blasted Tokyo was Tokyo, and its people were unclean. Mikado on the other hand is clean, so it is entirely possible for God to rule over the world in the law ending for eternity.
It's not wrong really, personally I too think that the endings could have showed us more stuff... but maybe it's for the best, since that leaves open room for my fantasies of my character marrying Isabeau you know? and other stuff like that xD anyways, like you said, it was a great ride. One I hopefully will experience soon too lol :P

this ending has clear ups and downs

Well, after beating the Chaos route is nice to see a happy ending for Isabeau, the most heartbreaking part of any of the paths is seeing how basically only Flynn remains of the 4 friends, 2 of the msacrifice themselves for their goals and Isabeau kills herself to prevent getting killed by one of her friends.
I love this game I have beaten this game like 10 times the story to me is wonderful and it made me feel connections :) but now I don't have my 3ds anymore I can't play it :(

I feel that. Luckily I completed SMT IV neutral path before my 3ds got killed by my kids' bubble mixture bath. Probs going to emulate apocalypse to check it out but I'll miss how the game 'feels' on its original hardware.

Down the line most likely as she is impressed with Flynn very early in the game and drops many hints that she has fallen for him. Her words on Chaos/Law merely cement that she wanted to walk the same path as Flynn. Luckily she can on Neutral and gets her happy ending with him.
They are. Burroughs is based off the Goddess of Tokyo and was sent out to find the reincarnated Hero, who followed the same path as the past Hero(Past Flynn), to revive the Goddess of Tokyo and to return balance.
Actually due to the actions of the MC and Issabeau, the people do indeed learn, thus they live in peace together. Plus, what's an SMT game without Lucifer.

There's a few methods to encounter the fiends semi-quickly... I've run into four of them so far myself. But yeah, it takes a lot of reloading, and a little bit of luck.
Will you get a video of the other NG+ bosses such as Azazel and Mastema? I do believe Mother Harlot is one as well, but I've yet to do NG+ Chaos to find her.
That hypotheses runs into trouble with the True Demon Ending, since that end sees the complete destruction of all creation.

Hope? Yes, because having to, as you say, defend yourself is a very hopeful future indeed. Yes, I bet they cant wait for the another armageddon war in the future between the armies of law and chaos. See, here is what I like about characters of law and even chaos. They have ALREADY confronted the world for what it is and CHOOSE to do SOMETHING about it. Instead of ignoring the issue, they want to conclude it. Eventually, either Law or Chaos will reign supreme.

Neutral really could be seen as the best ending. Why? Because humanity has hope. In the Law and Chaos endings Humanity lacks an actual driving force, being controlled by either God or Lucifer. In the Neutral Ending humanity is forced to stand on it's own feet and confront the world for what it is. And the people of Mikado aren't insects, they'll be able to defend themselves.

Yeah.... definitely like this ending a lot more. Isabeau is alive, Hope is restored, and everything good with the world (for now)

Yes, because destroying Lucifer and Merkebah, becoming an Icon the people in Tokyo can rally behind, and uniting two peoples as one is "ignoring the issue". Masakado flat out says that Flynn only won a temporary peace, however seeing as Flynn was resurrected once already to reestablish peace it's safe to assume that during the next conflict he'll return anew. The world is not absolute, one force cannot rule over another.
That's why its cool in the Law route, because all of the 4 friends die in the end, sacrificing themselves for his/hers beliefs. It's definitely more climatic.

They only exist as long as at least one person believes in them. SO if no one existed to believe in them, they'd cease to be. Or at the very least be drained of all their power, and be the only two beings left in existence.

Well, in Devil Survivor, Remiel and the angels seem much more bro like and will even help you in neutral routes. Lucifer in this game seems less charismatic then in previous titles and doesn't seem to like you unless you go with him. But you are right in aspect of previous games, he usually is a bit more forgiving for neutral paths and characters than God does.

Actually, the Ashura-Kai disbanded after Tayama's death and most of the former members are dead and the rest are willing to help rebuild Tokyo due to Flynn since he is the Champion of Tokyo. The Ring of Gaea is still up, but there aren't as many members anymore. Some of them think that Flynn pretty much proved that their philosophy (Social Darwinism) is correct since he defeated Lucifer and the rest are planning to leave the faction to help rebuild Tokyo back to normalcy.
To be fair you kinda revive Black Maria and you help in the making of the next Lady Danu.
Well, since God created humanity and the universe, it would be very illogical to assume he would be dependent on believers or be drained of power. Having believers probably just allows himself to be revived after a defeat.
That is true, however as the White return you to your reality before anything happens we have no clue what the result is.
At the core of it I prefer the ending where Humanity is given control over their own destiny. Even a temporary freedom from the war between Chaos and Order is a boon to humanity, so they might live as they wish instead of obeying the whims of either God or Lucifer.
Hope may be a fleeting thing, but while it lasts humanity prospers.
I/m guessing the lesson is the best thing to is never the easy thing and the dangers of absolutes

Mikado was literally above the ceiling that covered Tokyo.
By removing the ceiling, Mikado ceased to exist. That's why Isabeau was trying to convince all the people of Mikado to move to Tokyo.

1)I begin to understand the endings have the same dialogue but is modified by the route of choice, such as, "You have leaded the Lord's Chariot to such desperation", meaning that Omega himself had lead the angels/demons to the present state, which after the leader of the factions (Merkerbah or Lucifer) begin to start the words for Omega to finish the enemy he created. Soon after, I notice that the voices of the original hosts. Walter/Johnathan begin to say the last words before oblivion strikes.
Even though the neutral ending is cannon, in the next game your MC wil be a chaos hero. I wonder how he will appear in the next game.

I just wanted to add though, if you beat Ancient of Days, it will show God bringing "arks" down to start a new world, with a new humanity. Blasted Tokyo was Tokyo, and its people were unclean. Mikado on the other hand is clean, so it is entirely possible for God to rule over the world in the law ending for eternity.
It's good in that everything is stable for now. But humanity repeats itself and they'll all be in another terrible position later.
It's not wrong really, personally I too think that the endings could have showed us more stuff... but maybe it's for the best, since that leaves open room for my fantasies of my character marrying Isabeau you know? and other stuff like that xD anyways, like you said, it was a great ride. One I hopefully will experience soon too lol :P
