More than friend, Isabeau makes it extremely obvious she's in love with you before she kills herself. Neutral she obviously still loves you but keeps it to herself as you're kinda too busy to worry about that stuff since Angels/Demons are threatening to mess up everything.
Its easy if you follow a simple set-up: Always select the 1st option in dialogue (boss battles notwithstanding unless its a philosophical one) Go left for all questions in Tsukiji Hongwanji Go with Jonathan at the split Do not talk with the woman behind the shutters at Ikebukuro (heavily shifts alignment) Choose to destroy the status quo. Avoid doing sidequests that can shift your alignment, you can do all sidequests after being locked into the neutral route (even Mikado ones later on)
Actually it seems Skins is referring the Flynn from his past life who sacrificed himself to save Tokyo with Masakado. Hence why Stephens and Burroughs reveal that your decisions are just like "his" and this is your "current" self.
DoubleA2015 I actually just got it yesterday on my second playthrough. I was going to just go Law then do Neutral then White but then I did all the quests and was like "F it" and went ahead with it. I only really used a guide for the blasted and Infernal tokyo parts so I wouldn't have to repeat it so my choices would be correct and I would get it.
Yes. Walter always merges with Lucifier, Johnathan always merges with the Archangels. Isabeau only lives on Neutral, Masakado and Goddess of Tokyo only revive on Neutral, and it requires the most effort to complete as well as going through each final dungeon. Flynn simply isn't needed for Law/Chaos to happen, however Neutral, and its events, cannot happen at all unless Flynn chooses his own path and goes Neutral. That and you only learn of Flynn's reincarnation and the such in Neutral.
Yes, it is also hidden quite well and can be missed rather easily as you must be between +8 to -8 Alignment after the Final +10 or -10 Law/Chaos choice.
I got neutral on my first try because picked all of the decisions I thought were right. My morality simply took that path for me.Also, what armor are you using Omega? It looks badass.
I ended up unlocking the neutral route by accident since I gave up after seeing how complicated people made it seem online. Now I feel like a badass for getting this far lol
I really wanted to get this ending in my first playthough but sadly I failed. I read a walkthrough on how to get it step by step the second time around but I didn't look ahead. When I realized that killing Kenji gave you +5 to law it was too late and I got the Law ending again...URGH!
+Christopher Sluyk *sigh* I feel you. I began my 1st thru with even a notebook by following a guide, but it appears that the guide I was following didn't mention nothing of a forced +5 after defeating Kenji. Now, I'm stuck in the 'Law Ending'. Dx I mean, I spend 70+ hours trying to do the 'Neutral', so a NG+ it is scary. SHIT!!!
Leirus Zitro Me too, just yesterday, even when I said Destroy the status quo, who was suppposed to give me an alignment of -1 after ~77 hours of gameplay
Isabeau also dies in Nothingness. Only Neutral does she survive and she was looking for you the entire time but only Stephen, Neutral, sends you to her. Walter and Johnathan, no matter what, always repeat their fates. Only Isabeau's can be changed.
Thank you for uploading these dialogues; I accidentally held X all the way through them, thinking that I'd already read them and that the alignment lock hadn't happened yet hahaha
Not for all SMT games... But in this case yes, Neutral fits as canon and seems to be the intended final route as it's the only one where you can actually fuse all the Fiends, end game Demons, and Red Rider being farmable for infinite Incenses. It also is much longer and takes you through each final Dungeon as well as bringing up the early plot point, the Goddess of Tokyo, as well as revealing your past life and why you're the chosen one.
Oh, OK. I misread your comment, believing "girl" to refer to that little girl from the beginning, thus I thought you were saying the girl was Isabeau. Though Stephen only refers to Isabeau as a "certain someone", never as "girl".
I just got on this route, and it wasn't easy. I made myself a point guide for staying neutral during the alternate tokyo's(because no Cynical man) and it worked out on my second try. Thank the demons, I won't have to do it again. =P
Goddess of Tokyo... And referring to the girl waiting for you? It's Isabeau. Burroughs is also based off the Goddess of Tokyo hence why she has her image and voice.
You inherit the will of Past Flynn who sacrificed his life to help Masakado form the ceiling that saved Tokyo from the nukes. It's why Masakado recognized you so quickly as he sees you as the past version of you that helped him.
Oh, so the alignment lock isn't necessarily when you pick between Walter and Johnathan...? I saved before going to Shene Duque, and since I had to choose afterwards, I got a little worried... The Cynical Man says that I seem very polite, but that doesn't last long in Tokyo, so what are my chances of being able to bring it down to a Neutral level...?
GURGLEGUY12345 The alignment lock doesn't come into play when you pick between Walter or Johnathan. It comes into play after you beat the shit out of Kenji. If you're careful, you can balance out your alignment without too much trouble. If you choose to follow Johnathan, you can still make some choices that are more chaos-aligned, and likewise, if you choose to follow Walter, you can still make some choices that are law-aligned. Following Johnathan makes your alignment go +10, whereas following Walter makes your alignment go -10. Pushing the button on the Reactor when following Walter makes your alignment go -5. (You have to do this, by the way.) Pushing the button on the reactor when you're at Blasted Tokyo also makes your alignment go -5. When you push the button when you're in Infernal Tokyo, it makes your alignment go +5. Given that, I said more chaos-aligned things when I was in Blasted Tokyo, and said some law-aligned things when I was in Infernal Tokyo. Then, when it the time to make the choice, I decided to go toward lawful. So yeah, that helps with going onto the Neutral path. Though admittedly, I consulted a guide throughout the entire playthrough to make a short-term plan toward going on the Neutral path.
No Deathbound, but the skills Mortal Jihad and Titanomachia are good alternatives especially if you have Charge and high strength/luck/agility. On demons it might be worthwhile to give them Dragonic Reaction, High Phys Pleroma and Bloody Glee; if made right your physical attacker will nearly always crit and will destroy most enemies. My Alciel has Null Phys/Gun and all elements (except an weakness to light) plus all the above skills making him invincible, but can be killed by light magic.
I'm not sure about the +8/-8 thing but I did spare all the hunters in one tournament and kill all the hunters in the hunter so that may be what happened with me. Anyway, for whichever you are more closely aligned you pick the opposite choice for the neutral ending in the second choice The Whites give you.
Great I didn't get the Neutral path and I really wanted that path too. I'm stuck between choosing law and chaos and I didn't want either of them. Oh well
Where can I see if I have positive or negative points? I talk to the cynical man but he tells me I'm doing fine, but the guides show numbers, where can I see the number I have?
True enough, though if it isn't Walter or Johnathan it makes sense it had to be Isabeau who happened to be a girl. Though yes, when he mentions girl he is talking about the Goddess of Tokyo who placed her faith in you since early in the game.
I ended up with Walter. He HAD to be sacrificed for the Demon Lord... So there Walter dies. After you want to leave the building where the Yamato reactor is Isabeau will come and will say that the will not allow you to pass her since you are on the way to destroy Mikado. You have to fight her and after you defeat her she commits suicide and cut her own throat be cause she can't stand the fact that her friend has turned evil.
(Also, is the game trying to imply that White Issachar has part of the real Isschar in him? They ARE aggregates of human thought, and Issachar is the only one the White are based on who was dead at the time...)
No kidding on the not going to be easy part. I've finished up all the quests I had available, and i'm only 3rd ._. (not including the ones that are closed).
You know the waifu is worth keeping if she's the Neutral Route representative
Unlike the Law Route representive Zelenin
YES MA BOE, waifu is laifu
Personally i respect Isabeau for staying true to her values, and even fight flynn if he chooses law or chaos, props to her.
Well its better then the heroine from smt 1 with becomes a giant doll with no personality after you save her
whites before the decision: BECOME THE MESSIAAAAAH!
whites after the decision: YOU AND YOUR MESSIANIC TENDENCIES!
totally not hypocritical at all.
Masakado is a bro. Everyone else is like "COMMIT SUICIDE FOR MEEEEEEEE" and Masakado is like "Hey, make the world less shitty."
Instead of “commit suicide for me” how about “DIE FOR ME”
Stephen is a bro too. He totally supports you getting the girl and even sets you up to work even closer to her.
Neutral is the hardest ending to obtain for a reason. It's worth it.
fucking sucks that it's hidden behind a hidden value. I was aiming for it and still don't get it
Ah.. this is when Krishna appears.
In another universe/alternate timeline, yeah.
I like Flynn and Isabeau together
"Ah...you have reincarnated" like that's such a casual thing for him. The equivalent to "long time no see", "it's been awhile"
“You took your sweet time getting your soul into another body”
"While I have to get into my old, torn apart body!"
More than friend, Isabeau makes it extremely obvious she's in love with you before she kills herself. Neutral she obviously still loves you but keeps it to herself as you're kinda too busy to worry about that stuff since Angels/Demons are threatening to mess up everything.
six years later
but i agree
She was even willing to kill herself so that her death wouldn't be on your hands
that's why samurais shouldn't fall in love with their comrades
isabeau when will u learn?
at least neutral flynn is the best for her
@@superbegeeta8000 I blame the manga

omg Isabeau's happy face
i cant even
pls
this felt like a nightmare to get to
MrBracchidios I hear that Neutral routes in all SMT games are very finnicky to get on.
DoubleA2015 Rightfully so. I mean, they're the best endings.
TylerDaDragon I'm actually trying to get nuetral on my current playthrough. I got Law and Chaos on my first and second playthroughs respectively.
DoubleA2015 I actually just got it yesterday on my second playthrough. I was going to just go Law then do Neutral then White but then I did all the quests and was like "F it" and went ahead with it. TylerDaDragon First playthrough, I got Law because (I think) I did too many sidequests. I even sided with Walter.
Yes. Walter always merges with Lucifier, Johnathan always merges with the Archangels. Isabeau only lives on Neutral, Masakado and Goddess of Tokyo only revive on Neutral, and it requires the most effort to complete as well as going through each final dungeon.

The neutral route always feels so right. Also the Neutral route leaves the feeling of a link to the past SMT games.
Yes, it is also hidden quite well and can be missed rather easily as you must be between +8 to -8 Alignment after the Final +10 or -10 Law/Chaos choice.

Best route by far.
Also, Isabeau's alive!
Isabeau is so cute. And those ears! *swoooon*
He is the reincarnation of the one who helped make the ceiling above Tokyo.
I really wanted to get this ending in my first playthough but sadly I failed. I read a walkthrough on how to get it step by step the second time around but I didn't look ahead. When I realized that killing Kenji gave you +5 to law it was too late and I got the Law ending again...URGH!

Wait killing Kenji gives you Law Points? Thats why I couldn’t get the Neutral Ending!
Killing Kenji gives you +5 to law but destroying Pluto doesn't give you +5 to chaos?
Isabeau also dies in Nothingness. Only Neutral does she survive and she was looking for you the entire time but only Stephen, Neutral, sends you to her. Walter and Johnathan, no matter what, always repeat their fates. Only Isabeau's can be changed.
war between angels and demons...DAMMIT THE APOCALYPSE
just got it, thanks omega for these vids
I want to give Isabeau a great big hug
4:05 - Is that a reference to the whole plot point with Flynn and Masakado?
Glad this is here. I did the neutral route and got pissed with the challenge quests taking literally forever. Going to start apocalypse now
Thank you for uploading these dialogues; I accidentally held X all the way through them, thinking that I'd already read them and that the alignment lock hadn't happened yet hahaha
It's so obvious she has a crush/is infatuated with Flynn.

Good luck with those sidequests. Especially the one with the four devas.
You are right, he never asked for a sacrifice.
Yay! I got neutral! I just wanted to make sure with this video. Thanks for the upload.
Whether angel or demon, all shall be cut down by the Son of Man. God, Lucifer, prepare yourselves!
It's Stephen, he's the badass of the series.
I too feel the same way. Getting the neutral path is really hard.[without the strategy guide].
Thanks for the upload. My friend borrowed my game and lost it. I wish I could have played this route as I got every other ending. Oh well.
+PiratesoftheNorth78 buy it now and finish it before smt iv final arrives!
is this the canon ending? cause it sure as hell seems like it lol
It is
Considering what happened in Apocalypse. It's kinda is
No, Stephen talks about the Goddess of Tokyo and Isabeau. Isabeau is the person waiting for you that Stephen sends you to after you defeat the Whites.
the young man they referring too is the protagonist of the very first SMT game on the snes
Oh, OK. I misread your comment, believing "girl" to refer to that little girl from the beginning, thus I thought you were saying the girl was Isabeau.
Though Stephen only refers to Isabeau as a "certain someone", never as "girl".
Interesting route so far.
Gotta love the neutral route :)
They are the bad thoughts and despair of humanity. Burroughs mentions this when your fighting the last one.
O_O Wha?! I didn't know that must have missed that part then.
The girl appeared way earlier in the game. I don't believe she's Isabeau since they both met in Naraku when the samurai were on a mission there.
So If I dont see Stephen atter pressing the button, that means that i missed the neutral route. Is that correct?
Yes
Next video please, can't wait.. D:
Kinda did the same thing, only I found out how hard it was before the first reactor trigger. Then I number crunched to try to get the Neutral.

what is the theme that plays from 12:00-15:00?
SMT rule :
law & chaos = good ending
natural = true ending
Isabeau will live. YEESH ! YEEEESH !
Great Chalice of Hope? Well, it's better than the Great Chalice of Friendship.
I'm giving up and just watching this after failing to get neutral for the third time lmao
Just your time as you have to complete a bunch of quests first. Though I had a head start, I was second place at the beginning of the quest. =P

That Katana, it's indeed the one Masakado holds, atleast his model from Persona 4 holds it :v
Where can I see if I have positive or negative points? I talk to the cynical man but he tells me I'm doing fine, but the guides show numbers, where can I see the number I have?
You have to count it yourself.
Sucks to be Walter and Johnathan still.. But Isabeau alone makes this route so much better than the others.

Who's the girl that Stephen is talking about?
Law is even worse... Neutral really is the way to go.
I've played this game like eight times and can't get neautral☹️😂
sry to sound stupid but can someone explain in greater detail because ive been writing down the points as i play the game and so far im at +8/-8.

Question: when they say Flynn reincarnated from someone, do they mean the protagonist of the first game?
No, the past flynn that created the dome
Yes its late I know
Wait, whose will did you inherit again? who does Stephen refer to? Aleph?
Past Flynn who created the dome
Too late for me to get neutral on my current file. Guess i'll wait until i make a New Game+ file to balance out my "allignment"
i had gotten this on my first try blind cuz i wanted to complete every quest and not kill anyone in tokyo lol
i didnt know how hard that was til later
Okay that sucks but at least one friend is alive.
"A certain young man"? Who is that?
Isabeau. Bitches love Isabeau.
Im liking the neutral route. :)
Wait when did Isabeau die?
all the smt games are like that
No kidding on the not going to be easy part. I've finished up all the quests I had available, and i'm only 3rd ._. (not including the ones that are closed).
Omega's character look kinda reminds me of a Power Ranger... sorry i had to point that out lol
Anyone that even thinks about sending Isabeau away is a cruel person that doesn't deserve Neutrality!
I only thought that there were 2 paths in this game.
PCveteran117 4
Stephen!!!
Isabeau dies if you get Law or Chaos.
Here, take this cup and pour me a cuppa hope will you?
Who is Skins referring to? (Spoilers?)
I never knew Omega had a heart full of neutrality....
