    As I have already stated, the game hints that the caste system was abolished when the angels took control. Gabriel says that the corrupt caste system "saddened our Lord". Not to mention the King and many Luxurors were exiled or punished. In Tokyo, the national pastime is watching hunters kill each other in arena's. I wouldn't compare Mikado's people to Tokyo's, while there were a few decent people in Tokyo, there was far more bad. In Mikado, most are honest working people.

      What are you talking about? The vast majority of people in Tokyo are also good, honest, hard working people just trying to survive. Some of the hunters may seem selfish and just want treasure, but all they're trying to do is survive.
      On the other hand, the people in Mikado are far worse. There was one man who survived in the law ending that was HAPPY to have his son killed because he was reading literature. And he was considering killing his adopted son because he suspected him of also being into literature. No matter what God or the angels do Fiction and literature will eventually resurface in Mikado, possibly in a different name though.
      Chaos is honestly the route with the most potential to be good. You literally completely smash the order created in Tokyo and Mikado. Under Flynn a new order can form, one that values merit above all else.

      On the surface, it is (similar to the Chaos and even Neutral ending, to other people). However, it is so saddening to know that these endings will only result to so much change before it repeats the opposing values of the world, becomes the absolute extremes of these ideals (Infernal and Blasted Tokyo), etc. It gives the White ending more context knowing that not only what you do in this game doesn’t matter, but also hurts more than it helps to the people of Tokyo and Mikado.
      You’re not on a righteous path for people in the Law route: you’re blindly destroying innocent lives for sake of only resetting the inevitable cycle of doing so again and again to the next generation, as humans are born of evil nature.
      You’re not freeing and changing the once shackled world of Mikado in the Chaos route: you’re coaching a dictator in his path to destroy and burn everything in its path to be the one to not guide the people, but only to challenge and and provide fear to them.
      And Neutral, while the “good” ending in this game, is merely a hiatus of a situation that will just bud again.
      This game is a tragedy, inside and out. I still cry when replaying and listening to the game and it’s soundtrack (such as “Messiah”, “King”, “Separation”, and “B3”. It’s why i understand faith more than every before, why I want to live my best life for my girlfriend and family, and to never show hatred to others.
      In a game that only shows pain and suffering, it truly makes me want to do more than anything

      +GoldSaint Luis Demons and Angels can revive themselves, though. Unlike humans, which when they die they die for good until they're reborn. Killing a demon is much more justifiable than killing a human, who is invested in their life and won't remember their past life when reborn.
      besides, most of the killing you're talking about isn't exclusive to a neutral run. you kill the least amount of people in the neutral route since you resurrect the goddess as well as choose to not genocide an entire city of people.
      the demons will keep coming out of the expanse, but they can be used to help better society. i remember some of the tokyo people before the neutral route ended in my playthrough said that they plan on keeping all the unfriendly demons out of tokyo until there aren't any left. points in the direction isabeau was going when she argued against merkabah saying that they can strive for what's best without going to monastic extremes.
      but all of that will be figured out in SMT IV Final, which fixes a lot of the problems that the neutral ending left in SMT IV. Similar to how SMT 2 is a continuation of SMT 1's neutral route which still left them with problems.

    • @morehero1

    • @bruno17289
      @bruno17289 7 ปีที่แล้ว +16

      Nope,, this is one of the few SMT games where the neutral ending is overall superior,and all around good ending. If you paid attention to the game lore, and DLC, is revealed that the law ending is the most "evil". The Angels are responsible for every bad thing that happens in the game directly or indirectly because of God's plan, whose goal was to get rid of the original sin, which is human knowledge, how they plan to do this, is to kill everyone and start a new human race (which is Mikado). Also God's plan is not even God, the main angels have lost contact from the Great Will a long time ago, and they are just doing what they think is God's will

      Law is the philosophy of the selfless and those who understand that we put laws into place to safeguard the general welfare. People seem to think that Law does not promote change or growth, but this is incorrect. A society without conflict or strife, a society of equality, is the best breeding ground for advancement. In Law, everyone is judged equally and fairly, and those who are found lacking must pay the price. But for those who follow the law and aid their community, peace and happiness are theirs to keep. Vastly preferable to the sad, hopeless life of Chaos, where people are constantly looking over their shoulders for fear of traitors or usurpers.

    • @JT-hk9ur
      @JT-hk9ur 3 ปีที่แล้ว +22

      Not quite. Megaten operates on a multiverse; thus, every ending is canon. However, not every ending gets a continuation in the form of a game.
      In SMT1, the Neutral ending leads to the events of SMT2 but the Law ending of that game leads to SMT: 20XX, more specifically the events that occurred in Valhalla before Aleph's birth.
      Neutral is generally the best route to take since Law and Chaos taken to extreme is bad for humanity something that we as players who are humans relate so much with the Neutral route.

      @Palatinus-Z 4 ปีที่แล้ว +6

      @@MajorLawliet I made a really large text, hope you don't mind, friend. Plus, forgive me any typo, english is not my main language.
      I'm not claiming moral high ground based on human perspective on my point of view. Take fascism or some other form of dictatorship for exemple, awfully like the lawful world; it's just someone who thinks he knows what it's right, wrong, and what makes people happy, right? We both know that is a disaster, hence, chaos sound more human, free and logic based on what we experience from law (and I'm not arguing about what "law" is)
      However, this view is down to it's knee before God himself. Take all the holy scriptures and look for heaven in it, people are always happy and...they aren't free to sin, because they don't want to, and why they don't want? Because they happy. You see, the jew and christian scriptures say the closest we are to God, the more happy we become, and by happy I mean fulfilled and delighted; however this also is a influence in our ways to take decisions, right? Why stop doing something if that makes you happy? And so...making someone artificially happy is right down brainwashing, that is the argument against law by chaos.
      However, by PRAGMATIC point of view, you have the greatest intellectual on power (God, cuz he knows all, while most demons don't), he gives you pure bliss (which is the goal of ever human deed), no fault can be made, nor cruel act which isn't justifiable. Sure, you don't control your life, but would you need to control something only "because I want" and ruin the bliss of everyone by making stupid stuff? Sounds more selfish than law by now. You would make pain reappear because morality while morality never solved a sigle problem and morality breeds chaos (in this scenario) which then breeds imorality by demons?
      Law solves the problem fairly easy.
      Then you say:
      "Well, Adam and Eve were happy and they seek knowledge"
      Absolutely right. However, seek the paradise in the Christian laws. God HIMSELF is amongs us, when he wasn't on Eden, which solves the problem. Plus, the world supposedly exists for people to know how bad freedom is. Heck, even freedom to choose your destiny is bad when you don't know what to do. But to know that someone who sees ALL, even you, choose your destiny, you can't be anything beyond happy.
      "But what about the Tokyo Millenium in SMT2?"
      That wasn't God, it was a fake made by angels, and even then the workers who were laboring and being slaughtered and jailed were happy (I can't confirm that one), so I leave that question to you. Is it good or bad?
      Now, about the most scary world in Strange Journey...
      People are brainwashed by Zelenin and her song, and they are happy. It's canon, however, that some people weren't affected and were killed, which is a reference to Christian teachings of not rejecting the Holy Ghost, hence, not repenting or submitting out of sheer pride or incapability of recognizing misdeeds, which means you are forever lost. Also, in Christian terms, all elucidating thoughts and high culture comes from God via the Holy Ghost, reject that and you are a demon yourself. Can you reject the Holy Ghost without wanting to? I don't think so.
      Zelenin power is not the power of God, it's the power of Satan (Mastemah). You see, in the Ethiopian church, Mastemah is a Angel, not just any Angel, he is a governor of the Angels of the Presence, Uriel. Uriel is called Jeremiel at some accounts, and Jeremiel is Ramiel, and Ramiel is a fallen angel, a watcher, group which joined Mastema, and together they are MastemaH. So Zelenin power comes from the boss of SATAN, her power is OP, but not absolute, hence, he can and certainly fail with strong minded people like Alex.
      We all know God wasn't behind Mastema's plan, so this is a PHONY Law Path, God's Will isn't at work. But in lawful-neutral ALL abide by the song and became non-violent without fault, much because it wasn't a TOTAL mind control, it didn't gave happiness, it JUST removed violence and made people reasonable, a ending which I love.
      Now, even in the most pessimistic scenario, 1% is unhappy and 99% happy.
      Chaos or Neutral doesn't even get results.
      Neutral lead to repetitive mistakes and alignment wars again, chaos just bring dictators which will try to make law by their own hands, but not law for the people, but to keep them from taking him down (just like the chaos that Mussolini, Hitler or Lenin used to rise up to power).
      I see the lawful as a lesser evil overall, imoral, yes, but to God which can change concepts (based on the Conception from SMT III and Kagutsuchi changing concepts, and also Polaris from Devil Survivor) what morality even mean? For all we know, God can change it (because Amala turns all smt connected and every world in the hands of the Great Will, meaning that some divine power in some world can be replicated by God, since God is the Great Will "incarnation", and the Great Will is the source of all those tricks, to conception to the void in devil survivor).
      So that's that. I was a chaotic myself, but Lawful makes way more sense and more people happy.

For example, when he decides to be a martyr and talks to the MC for the last time, he says things like "Every time humans and demons open their mouths, they talk only of themselves. Why cant people help one another? Are humans even worth salvation?". This resonated with me because I have asked such things. He acknowledged the flaw in humanity and realized that it is through God and Law(guidance and order), humans can live happily.

      Venus Adeptisaac Law is the philosophy of the selfless and those who understand that we put laws into place to safeguard the general welfare.

Keeping Mikado in absolute peace (with there being no indication of the caste system being abolished) will never allow the stronger and more hardworking people (luxuror or casualrie) to become the true leaders in society. Leaders should not be chosen based on birth right like in Mikado.
