I was so stressed for the few days of dealing with the feds. I didn't know what was going to happen. I'm not rich by any means and losing the money and cards would be a huge hit

@@badlucksbargainbasementbas875 The original owner wouldn't pay for his cards back. Breakout Cards will never get a "check in the mail". More likely the Facebook seller in Georgia sent a fake e-mail claiming to be the FBI and then had Breakout Cards send the cards to a friend of his in St Louis, so now they got the cards back and have Break Out's money. Does anyone really think the FBI would send an e-mail to someone when investigating? The St Louis FBI would contact the FBI office closest to Break Out and knock on his door
The FBI email could be sketchy as well, odd that you'd know the owners info; I wouldn't expect that from the FBI. If you get the payment and it clears, then it's not so sketchy. There are scams where the 2nd step is pretending to be a govt agent and getting account info, I hope he sends a money order; I wouldn't want my account number stamped on a check he gets (but again, only if you have any doubt.) As to 'hard to find cards,' I love the Nolan Ryan rookie. When I was a kid, they were only available mint for $1600 (no internet to find the bargains.) What was mint then, would be 6-8 in most cases today; finally seeing some gains. From late 2019 until now, I've been buying them. When I found out there were 3 rare versions, I made an effort to buy them (Milton Bradley is 1/30th the pop, O-Pee-Chee is 1/100th the pop and Venezuelan is such a tiny pop report it's uncertain how complete it is; but it's very rare.) Without earning a lot, I bought 3-4 Milton Bradley (I thought it was 7, but some were just off center Topps that had the white line; wrong back to be MB though), 6 O-Pee-Chee and twice I came close to Venny's (none yet.) I probably bought 50+ total, sold a few, returned a few, I've got 47 and sold 7 and returned 2 fakes and a few sellers were scammers that never sent so probably 57. This of a card I dreamed of having one some day. I'll keep a dozen, all MB (I sold the lowest grade one already, 2-3 left; 1 is being graded so I'll see if it's MB) all OPC (why sell something that rare unless the price is MJ rookie or Mantle rookie level?) Sorry to hear you had to return them, I find the whole story odd; I'd think they'd arrest the guy and insurance would pay. How they found you unless you were selling them is beyond me. (I just noticed your PWCC comment, wow; that's crazy. They should make their stolen cards database public.)
I really want to get the other Nolan Ryan variants. My name is Ryan Nolan, so I have to get them for my PC. I just picked up a centered 4 earlier this year for 500 and was thrilled to have it. Next up is the 3 other versions, but I'll be waiting until I get a few more pre war cards and the Seaver rookie. On the FBI side of things, I agree it can be sketchy. But I was given ample proof that it was an agent, and I did a background check as well.
When you buy stolen property and Leo finds it (state or feds) they confiscate it to return to original owner and the last buyer eats the cash loss from bad purchase. Feds don't call you, they show up to take immediate possession of said property to catalog and return to owner after processing and clearance of an open case. You don't contact original owner and ask if they want their cards back, much less get reimbursed. If feds contact you they need the cards to clear a case. If they don't, they're not feds. Either you got scammed or it's a nice story, either way sorry dude.
I didn't contact the original owner, the FBI agent did first. The guy had no obligation to refund for the purchase. They emailed me first from an fbi.gov email address before calling. I confirmed that they were legit. I wouldn't have sent the cards otherwise.

Hey, glad to know blowout has that. I'm going to check before making a big purchase. The FBI found out through PWCC and the TH-cam video. I didn't buy all the cards in the collection. 6 other cards were bought by a friend and put on PWCC. PWCC pulled them down when the FBI reached out.

Not sure if he insured the packages or not but that is a great observation. Perhaps that is how he got money to pay us back haha
@@BreakoutCards well I'm not him so I can't say he did insure them , but I know if I'm mailing anything worth $10 or more I'm getting insurance, so with stuff worth thousands it would only be common sense.
@@thisshouldbeentertaining3386 Yeah I agree, I would like to know the answer to that question. I am assuming he didn't which does sound a bit crazy
Thanks for sharing very interesting and sneaky shows another value of eBay, even tho the fees are crazy. I’ve only had sellers return cards after they went down in value. Good to call these out. Subscribed.
Thanks for subbing
Very surprised the FBI actually took this on. Congrats on your integrity and sharing.
FBI was because it went to different states. If it was same state the police would have.
@@arthurcohen9390 Same question I had at first. It crossed states lines so it's a federal crime
Great that you got your money back!! I have lost thousands of dollars over the years due to different scams, it sucks get taken!!! Aren't there a lot of the Mays and Rose rookie cards on posted Ebay? I have not looked for those cards for over ten years now.
There are lots on eBay. But the prices have skyrocketed the past few months
Great informational video. Just subscribed to u!
Thank you!
I have had lots of my high end rookies and graded cards stolen by my former roommates when they moved out. The police were absolutely useless!!!
I guess he didn't try to sell them then
The fact that they were slabbed and serial numbered was your downfall. If they were loose it woulda been a different story they coulda been on a fishing expedition.
Yeah, if the crook was smart he would have broken them out and got them reslabbed lol
@@BreakoutCards the fbi never woulda figured it out. How dumb do you have to be to post serial numbered stolen items on Facebook and think the feds ain’t gonna figure that out one day? This dude needs to be on worlds dumbest criminals ffs smfh. I hope he went to jail just for the crime of being stupid more than anything.
You are a good person
thanks
In the future... wait until the check clears before sending those cards back.
Ye... I haven't received the check yet, getting a little worried
🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣"the FBI emailed me" 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣... So I mailed the cards to a stranger 🤣🤣🤣
Can't make this stuff up. Would you like more proof?
@@BreakoutCards you cash the check?
Just subscribed crazy story atleast you got your money back thanks for sharing 👍
Refreshing story how many people if they had the cards would have said they already sold them and then cracked the slabs and resubmitted them . Yeah i got burned a few times back in the late 80s . Sold 4 84 fleer update clemmens for 200 each threw the internet . Mailed the cards and like and idiot didnt seal the cases with sort of label that i only had . Boom guys gets the cards and says there counterfeit and i have to pay him back . So i didnt want to get kicked off the site so i did . They werent fake i cracked an 84 fleer update case . Lesson learned . Protect yourself
Good video !!
Also, you seem well informed, how much would you change to tell me if a card is fake or not? I have a Jodarn Nike rc, it seems to pass all the tests but I wont second opinion before sending it off to be graded, I'm afraid if I submit a card that turns out to be fake I'll end up on some internal list

Blowout forums has something like that. Its been awhile since I have logged in but check it out just search for the sticky of I think "STOLEN CARDS LIST" or something similiar. Sucks to hear but one question. How did the FBI know YOU had those cards? That was never answered.
The cards were raw too this story makes no sense. How would the FBI know they were the exact cards and like you said how did they know he had them. 🤷
@@Tony_Pepperoni The cards were not raw. The Mays was a PSA 1 and the Rose was a PSA 3.5
@@BreakoutCards gotcha I’m a bad listener 😆
The struggle is real 👊🏼
It really is James but Ryan and I will eventually get those cards back. Everything happens for a reason
Holly Drag On of a story!!
Damn, that’s a shame brother, but at the end...you did the right thing...you ever found out what happen to the guy who sold you the cards?
The FBI has his identity. That's the last I know about it
Can you explain who’s money went back to who? Or if the original owners shipping insurance covered your reimbursement? And did the thief get busted with your cash, but then the original cash was not returned to you? It’s a confusing 3 way money return and for educational purposes please lay out exactly who’s money went back to who; we’d all appreciate it and it’s great content! - from the way I interpreted the video, it sounded like the thief got busted and kept the money ( maybe fbi confiscated it?? And then did not get “it” back to you) - but then original owner paid you somehow with his money; sooooo where did that money come from? - great video thanks!!
Subscribed 🤓👍
I believe that the shipping insurance covered the reimbursement. The payment for the cards was through Zelle and Cash App. I assume that the FBI confiscated it.
Are you going to talk about how you got scam
you didn't know what month it was, you didn't know what town it was, the FBI called your phone, and the shady seller gave you back a full refund. I need a second opinion on this story LOL
The seller didn't give me a refund. The original owner of the cards did. If you look at my channel, February 21st I uploaded the Rose/Mays video. I met in a small town in Georgia. Wasn't a large city like Savannah or Atlanta.
No genius. You need to watch the video again. You must be slow.
Sound like dude you got hustled. Someone is selling the cards, buying the cards back with a "check" and then resell them over again. I doubt the FBI is going to make initial contact through an email. P.s you sent the cards back without getting the check and confirming it's real and that the funds were in your account? I seen this on a TV show once but it wasn't with sports cards and it was a scam, so hopefully you get your money back.
@@imperfectgamer54 The person he bought the cards from probably sent a fake e-mail claiming to be the FBI and then he had Breakout send the cards to a friend of his in St Louis. A very obvious scam. So they have their cards still and have Breakout's money
@@888strummer yep spoiler alert check never comes
THIS IS A FICTION STORY CORRECT. I WONDER IF I CAN PICK THAT BOOK UP AT THE LOCAL LIBRARY

Yeah I got ripped off about a month ago from a guy in New Jersey he ripped me off on my Mac Michael Jordan baseball cardplus I gave him a free Jordan card included in the order just because mail was taking so long so I included it with his purchase of the Michael Jordan card and playing baseball
At least you were reimbursed. Your loss could have been much greater. Did they ever find out who stole them? If the FBI knows a specific serial # graded card has been stolen then they should contact the grading company and that company should have that card notated when you look it up on their site.
He had to pay you back or he would have been committing insurance fraud
That sucks man. I live in Savannah and I remember wondering who you were buying those cards from when you posted the original video. Glad that you got your money back. I'm sure you'll get the cards legitimately one day!!
I hope so too! We both want them back because we bought them fair and square!

Not yet but we are going to receive it very soon
Best thing about graded cards if your register them no one can sell them or register without you knowing I had an embiid stolen from me and two days later I was notified by psa they tried to add thier info to the registry and I got the dudes name address everything press charges got my card back
If you buy a card like that lesson of story check registered by same person selling you the card and have them transfer registry at time of sale
Wait originally owner reimbursed you to get his own stolen cards back? Why would he do that? How much did you paid out for those cards?
He probably got the insurance money from the cards
Hey great video! Do u know how to spot a Jerry rice reprint? I got one at a card shop for $75 but im worried it could be a reprint. Ive tried searching google but cant find anything to explain if its a reprint. Please help and thank you
it proly isnt if u spent 75...a reprint will be reconizable read the dates on the bottom back of the card..almost all reprints will have the real date ...i dont think many people are faking jerry rice rcs unless some fake psa shit goin on
@@LITMOVIESCENES🙅🤦 There are a lot of fake Jerry Rice rookie cards on eBay. Not all say reprint on card or have a different copyright date from the original. Some you can tell from the photos, some you can't. Depends on how to clear the photo is and what kind of stock it was printed on.

So did the FBI actually confiscate the cards? How did you connect with the original owner?
I think the video maker is either making up a story or he got scammed because the original owner would never have his cards stolen and then have the FBI involved and then actually pay the video maker to send the cards back. There is no way the video maker gets his money back from the original owner
The FBI agent had the contact info of the original owner

You should not have asked the original owner to compensate you for the purchase, also a bit odd if you never sat down with an agent/handed over the stolen property in person.

Why would the FBI make initial contact through an email not knowing who would read it?
@@imperfectgamer54 u missed my point, I’m sayin that BECAUSE they contacted him and that it wasn’t just the police or local police is saying something.
