It is DISGUSTING what the Marxist Media did to this guy. He should be in the HOF as a player-END OF STORY. As a manager this would be a different argument. They want to hold him out as an example of what morals are supposed to be while they gaslight us and allow politicians with free rein to insider trade and manipulate our markets which have all but destroyed the true meaning of free markets. Sure, the guy wasn't perfect but his stint as a player cannot be attributed by gambling. Prove me wrong...ANYONE.

Pete Rose was justifiably removed from the game and never took the actions necessary to atone for his actions and return to any official role in baseball governed by Major League Baseball. Right now we don't have good reason to think that Ohtani knew or was involved in the gambling and other crimes committed by his former interpreter. An interesting thought, I remember when Giamatti died and all the speculation at that time that the stress of the Rose situation contributed greatly to his death. After all it was like one or two weeks after the suspension that he suddenly died. I remember thinking at that time that Giamatti's death would forever keep Rose from getting re instated. Of course Pete never did himself any favors either by continuing to deny he ever bet on baseball until his book came out in 2004 and all the "I bet on baseball" balls he was selling. Pete was who he was, A bight star on the field and a hero to many, but a truly flawed man off of it.

No doubt ...Pete Rose should be in the Hall Of Fame. Alex Karas and Paul Hornung are in a more selective pro football HOF despite being suspended FOR 1 SEASON, 25 years earlier than Pete Rose for the same disease/act. A few years ago, Calvin Ridley bet 10s of 1000s on his team, and received a 1 YEAR SUSPENSION. As soon as the Ridley suspension occured, baseball needed to end their war on Pete Rose, as it isnt a fitting or legit punishment for modern times plain and simple. The scrolling odds on EVERY modern televised baseball game should have made that obvious as well. The basketball HOF has a player who has done much worse, solicitation of the murder of a disagreeable head coach. Take the friggin fraternity of baseball writers out of the equation immediately. They are the real guilty party, along with those that fetishize the glossier and romantic view of baseball's past. The people who select the baseball HOF need to grow the F up!!

Let's be clear: Shoeless Joe Jackson was the only player on that team to _not_ accept money to throw the 1919 Series. Look at his record in that Series. His 12 base hits set a World Series batting record that stood for 45 years. He led both teams with a .375 batting average, no charged errors, and threw out a runner at home. He was playing to win. The other seven players accused testified on his behalf that he wasn't involved. The jury found the players innocent, but Landis didn't care. He banned all eight players under the presumption that, at some point, they were all aware of the plan to fix the Series, yet did nothing to stop it from happening.

This man deserves to be on the Hall of Fame. It’s disgusting that he wasn’t inducted in his lifetime. He served his lifetime ban, it’s time to put him in the HOF where he belongs

Dude should be in the HoF. MLB bungles another situation, shockingly...

While it's still important to me that Pere Rose is placed in the Hall of Fame, with Pete's passing it will NOT be the same without seeing Pete's acceptance speech or watch him personally enjoy his day in Cooperstown. RIP Legend. Forever loved and appreciate as our Hall of Famer!

It’s a shame what the MLB did to Pete. Murderers get 25 years; Pete got life. 4256 hits will be tough to beat.

He knew the consequences of his actions. You can't seriously compare 25 years in prison (and Rose did his own jail time for his other crimes) and being ineligible to be involved the sport you stained.

This is truly heartbreaking. Ban him from the league whatever but to not acknowledge the player with the most hits at bats and games played is just straight up wrong.

Pete Rose was the "Greatest" Baseball Player of all time.... I watched him play for years.... It was the geatest time to watch him play on tv or when he was in San Diego wearing my Padres out.... CHARLIE HUSTLE was exactly that 1000% Mr. Baseball every game he gave everything he had.
That cannot be said about 99.9% of those playing today.... and Pete knew it but was too nice to put his finger on baseballs lazy, soft cancer.
