I do not think that any other player in the last 56 years exists, that evokes so many emotions as Peter Edward Rose, my favourite player when I was a teenager, my favourite player now. (I'm 60) Mr. baseball Commissioner, please put this man in the Hall of Fame before his time here on Earth is up for fuck's sake, we MLB fans will forever be grateful, his achievements are incredible.
I can't tell you how much I enjoy these segments. I spent half my childhood looking at baseball cards from the 80's, reading the backs of them and then making trades with my friends. And then to hear all these stories. I'm in heaven!

TO THIS DAY, the thing that amazes me about Rose and many, many professional ballplayers, retired and active..is how razor sharp, their total recall of game, players and innings, is. Just incredible. They can just glance at a guy's pic or name, and damn near tell you about his ENTIRE career, or big chunks of it..even if they didn play in the same damn league!
Im amazed at the recall Pete Rose has. I saw an interview where he rattled off tons of stats from 40 plus years ago. His individual stats versus pitchers and teammate stats. I checked what he said with Baseball Reference and Pete was 100% accurate.

Also The Cincinnati Reds used to always play the 1st Game of the season to start the yr off and that was in tribute to The Reds being the 1st Official MLB Team.
