Timmy never canonically got rid of his Heat Vision. He still can just casually hit the Optic Blast anytime he wants. Only real issue with him is Da Rules, a laundry list of things he can't do with Cosmos & Wanda's magic. Dude wished for hyper intelligence, which stopped working when he tried to use it in a competition. And breaking Da Rules too much can eventually just destroy the universe.
But is self defence a competition though? Timmy has wished for weapons and he actively used them against those that which him harm, I think some people overrate "Da Rules"

I completely agree. Both characters have access to insane futuristic technology as well as means for space travel that would make them excellent choices for the Espada.

I will say, I think another reason why SpongeBob is a tier above Timmy is the fact that, despite all the wishes that Espada Timmy could make, he still has to contend with that colossal pile of bullcrap that is “The Book of Da Rulez”. And while yes, there are some rules that play in his favor (“Timmy Turner can keep his fairies even after he turns 17”), the other rules make things a bit more challenging (“No More Super-Wishes, Super-Powered Beings made by the wish must willingly give up their powers, You can’t wish away Da Rulez”)

I actually found the original fanart you're referring to on Tumblr and also had similar thoughts on how fucking universe demolishing some of the Nicktoons characters would be as Espadas lmao. It's not as detailed as yours, but I think my curiosity on how they would work as Espadas was answered in this vid lol. I enjoyed the discussion! Plus, I think the fanart is cool but it also made me laugh at the absurdity of it lmao. Timmy and Spongebob as one of the strongest Espadas does make sense. They both have that "underestimate them and you'll be gone in a blink of an eye" vibes lmao. Also, multiple characters in the Cartoon Network akatsuki are on SpongeBob’s level already from what I can tell. Ben 10: anything that applies to anyone can apply to him because he can just turn into the peak version of that person’s race Gumball and Darwin: toon force on the level of SpongeBob, Gumball literally turned super saiyan once. They can pretty much do whatever they want. Uncle Grandpa: has absolute Bill Cypher level chaotic feats casually, and once again SpongeBob level toon force. Mordecai and Rigby: they literally almost end the universe in every episode, and it’s usually just over like food or a game or show or something. Not SpongeBob levels of toon force, at least not directly, but pretty damn close.

Before anybody gets crazy, Asng beats Zoro in everything except for speed and possibly strength. The reason I say this is because Aang canonically scales to past avatars while in the avatar state. Past avatars have moved islands with their earth bending. He has better experience with the avatar state. Better abilities because of bending. Better skill because of avatar state. And although a drawback could be his pacifism while in a criminal organization, Aang has certainly killed before. Like, bro definitely killed combustion-man.

Another thing is that many rules are added AFTER the fact, so technically his wishing capabilities get ever so slightly weaker over time- it would depend on how Fairy world reacts to any skirmishes Timmy finds himself in, and whether they stick with integrity to da rules despite him going against dangerous oponents.

Timmy and Spongebob as one of the strongest Espadas does make sense. They both have that "underestimate them and you'll be gone in a blink of an eye" vibes lmao. No disrespect to the lower tiered ones in the group though, they all had their fair share of destruction and ingenuity in their own universes. I think it's fair to say that all of them as a group shouldn't be underestimated if they were ever villains in an anime lol.

Before anybody gets crazy, Asng beats Zoro in everything except for speed and possibly strength. The reason I say this is because Aang canonically scales to past avatars while in the avatar state. Past avatars have moved islands with their earth bending. He has better experience with the avatar state. Better abilities because of bending. Better skill because of avatar state.
