  • Join me as I discuss the history of these 3 African American people who were freed slaves and called Northeast San Antonio their home. We'll also take a tour to their family/community gravesites and share the rediscovery of these places as well as some troubling events that took place to one of their cemeteries.

I totally enjoyed your video. I live right off Judson and have been here 33 years. Lots history of Wetmore, Texas when with first moved here. I didn’t know about the cemetery at 1604 and Nacogdoches. How disrespectful that these people bodies were removed with no respect given to them. I hope that small area that was once a cemetery would be designated as scared land.

CORRECTION: on 13:49, I mention that Jane Warren was married to a man named "William" Hockley. His name was actually "WILSON" Hockley. Also, the reports shown on the archeological projects is done by the UTSA center for archeological RESEARCH, not "records" as I mentioned in this video 🤦‍♂️This was an error on my part as I missed these mispronunciations after uploading the video. Thank you for watching and be sure to like, share, comment, and subscribe!

I wonder who owned the land when the graves were moved - a neighbor used to own land in that area and not sure if he owned that exact parcel or when he sold it. Really awful.

Just think, if these dispicable grave robbers had no place to move these people to, they might not have been dug up! Shame on Holy Cross Cemetery for doing business with "Them", illegally!
