There's a lot of good info and very great ideal builds in this video and you covered them well. Especially with not too heavy JP and level grinding. I feel that the Genji Gauntlet would be useful for a few of these builds. (Ideally mostly Samurai and Geomancers or other classes with elemental-based melee weapons incase of the spell procs) I had to double take when I saw that 971 Holy from the Time Mage to see how it was so high in damage with that build, only to see that it was due to the 94 Faith. Although I do like my ideal combo of Vanish+Lifefont on Bards&Dancers, this would be a bit more effective since enemies will heavily focus on trying to KO the Bard while you get MP back every few turns leaving your attackers with easy openings for the quick kill. Seeing Defenders throughout this video and the Ch.3 Builds video is giving me serious Tank build vibes. Load up a Knight with Defender, (or a class that can equip Main Gauge or a Dancer with a cloth) parry, shield and mantle and that'd be a hard target to hit for the most part. Edit: Did I hear you correctly in the video that you can get Cloud earlier in the PSP version than the PSX version? If so, how? 🤔
@@thatidiotuhate I had to go and manually look for this comment. So weird. You aren't being offensive or putting links so still not sure why. Yeah the Genji Gauntlet is solid on the PSX too bad in most cases it can't be obtained in War of the Lions. Vanish lifefont is solid too. So that is amazing as well. Yeah Defender with Parry, a Mantle and Shield is great. I only wish it was more effective vs things like Choco Meteor. And yeah you can. Once you unlock Sal Ghidos and have Reis back as a human you are good to go. 💯👍
Last week I started a new playthrough after years and found your channel! It's been invaluable. And I just reached chapter 4 today so this video will be extremely useful.
I fell in love with this game back when it first came out. I remember when The War of the Lions released for psp. I had to go out and buy a psp just so I could get the remaster. I loved the changes in speech and the addition of the dark knight class as well as the multiplayer. With that said, this game has so much versatility. You can make OP combinations and there isn't just 1 combination you can use. There are only a couple of drawbacks to the game. The enemies don't scale to you and can be too easy if you over level. I like to level up in chapter one to get dark knight, then de-level down to like level 5 or 7 and then just play the story out from there. Yes it's time consuming but having 2 dark knights in your party at all times makes the game fun for me. I like your content. Good job!
Nice man same here, this along with Dissidia were the main reasons I got the PSP. War of the Lions was an overall fantastic remaster which people seem to forget that this game was technically a remaster of the original. My main negative is the slowdown and inferior sound quality mostly which are its major negatives but I can still live with it. I mean enemies do scale with you level wise in random battles and a few enemies in story battles. But if you know what you are doing your choice of abilities and equipment can wreck them lol. But I love your hard work and dedication for Dark Knight! They are my favorite! Thanks for the kind words!
I'm doing the "Final Fantasy V Job Crystal challenge" from the GameFaqs challenges FAQ. The jobs I can use are Squire (chapter 1), Knight (chapter 1), Summoner (chapter 2), Mediator (chapter 3), and Dancer (chapter 4). So these videos help with what the best equipment to give everyone. (The chapters are when those jobs are available for me to start using, and I can only use those 5 jobs and abilities)
Excellent video, Jase! So much content to cover. 🎉 In Chapter 4 HP isn’t that important. Stats like PA and MA are more important. Black Mages are still so amazing. I was wrong about them going out of style in Chapter 4. I still think Ninjas are great in Chapter 4.
It was a long video for sure lol. Took me a while to make too. Mostly due to their MA while in the job which is bananas. And yeah Definitely speed and of course PA and MA are amazing and yeah Ninjas are fantastic!
Hello J7Jase! I appreciate your content and videos on FFT. If you haven’t already heard they’re now holding FFT PVP world tournaments! I watched it on Tactics Live Tournament. Let me know what you think. 😁😁😁
Hi thanks for the comment. Yes I've watched the few tournaments that were hosted. It's fun to watch but I think the game changed a lot to balance it around pvp.
I remember in the original game, it was speed that increased steal chance..unless I am mistaken. It's interesting if they changed that for the WOTL version
This build suggestions should be useful for first timers and even returnees. I wasn't able to explore other unique character builds in my first playthrough because Cid just destroyed every foe. For a potential re-release, I wonder if it is possible to give us Cid later while keeping the story intact? At least let Meliadoul join before Cid.
Lol you could always opt out not to use him. But the only issue is, if he gets nerfed or etc. He is supposed to be more of a pick up and play character since all your other characters will have a lot of abilities learned. I noticed Excalibur is a large part of him being insane due to great weapon power and haste too. I'm not totally sure. To me best the keep the story as is I feel lol.
@J7Jase Fair point regarding the story. I just felt like asking someone who played this game plenty of times to see if changing Cid's recruitment point is possible. I should definitely try out Balthier when I play through the game once more. I would probably build him by combining the two jobs I gave him in my FF12 Zodiac Age playthrough just for fun and see how it goes.
@@curryryse I'm not sure how they would go about it, I think personally its changing the story too much myself. He is really good and you can get him quite early. So I recommend him although he is very strong lol
Nice video!. I think you put Items as a secondary WAY TO MUCH though. Like half of your builds had than man. I get it really, they are great in any stage of the game, but personally if I already have a Chemist I prefer to go for different ways forms of healing for variety's sake. I don't like White Mages in this game but auto-potion lets you chug potions without the Items command, Dark Knights get to steal life from their oponents and so do Mystics and Beowulf. Also Samurai are great at healing a bunch of allies at the same time, just like summoners. Aside from that, there's a great variety of builds here, nice job!
hi thanks for the comment. The main point of this video was for pick up and play builds with very minimal grinding. And Phoenix Down is like the best revive in the game. Samurai healing is mostly good if Iadio/Draw out on something like a Black Mage with solid MA. But then I don't really consider that a true Samurai. Thanks
@@J7Jase Of course. Not only Chemist are a great class, they are also available from the very beginning of the game for every character with no grinding required. If you just want to get through the game without worrying too much about variety the Item command is just perfect.

It is hard not to grind these days.
It can definitely be easy to get carried away lol
Is cloud worth the effort in the 2.5 mod ?
I don't think do, despite being a big fan ou Cloud 😢

Speed still increases the % as well as good or best zodiac signs.

Is there a way to prevent or mitigate Iaido destroying katanas?
Sadly no, they will always have a chance to break with the higher weapon Katanas having a higher chance to shatter
So once you have a Ninja/Brawler and Black Mage/Samurai squad going, you're unstoppable?
I wouldn't say unstoppable but it's very strong
cant you also get ribbon from poaching red chocobo?
No that is Barette
