    Just a really excellent video! Love your down to earth approach. It was so liberating to know that your stitches never look the same on the back as the front! I so appreciate that you pointed that out 😊

    Great tutorial! Very clear instructions. I was especially happy to see how to end and start the stitching in the middle of a quilting line. I’ve been doing it wrong!

    Hi Thanks for your teaching method. Specially for showing how to start and end. It's the best so far. In UK it is not seen as much.

    My machines' throat plates are just too small for machine quilting, and I am turning to hand quilting rather than the expense of a long-arm quilter. I am using templates and stencils for designs, and it is working well. I have embroidered since the age of seven, and I do enjoy hand work. I get a helpful hint from every hand quilting tutorial I watch.

    Hi Corey thank you for this video. When making a big memory quilt, can you big stitch each block separately and is it ok for the reverse side. Yikes. It’s for my grandbaby but I don’t want it to look too silly. I only started sewing now during the lockdown in Melbourne and it’s my first project. Than you.

    You indicate 4 squares on the top and bottom, and 6 squares on the sides. Your example shows 6 squares on all sides?

    • @CorianderQuilts
      @CorianderQuilts 4 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Yes, that's right. When you sew the sets of 6 to the sides, it will appear that you have 6 squares on all sides even though you only added 4 to the first two sides.

    What size is the pillow itself? This is my biggest problem - do I make the case larger than the pillow, or the same size?

    • @FatQuarterShopTX
      @FatQuarterShopTX  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hello Seven And The Littlest Mew! The pillow is a 12" block finished. We recommend a 12" pillow form.

    How does big stitch quilting hold up with washing?

    • @FatQuarterShopTX
      @FatQuarterShopTX  5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hello! Corey finds it holds up quite well actually, but we wouldn't recommend washing quilts w lot in a shirt span of time.

    Corey, you could refer to the inner backing on the pillow top as the LINER. Less confusing. Pillow Top, Pillow top Liner, Envelope Backing.

    For me this should have been in two parts first one talking about thread layers etc second about the actual sewing process because I had to put it on fast speed and listen to you talk very fast for 15 mins to get to the part that I hoped it was about. The part on hand quilting is actually good but I didn’t want all the chat first maybe I found the wrong video
