Thanks for the tip about why you knot the end that is closest to the spool, I've heard this rule before but no one else ever said the WHY.

Thanks for this! I thought I was doing a horrible job and your advice about the look on the front vs the look on the back was really encouraging.

Been watching a ton of tutorials and I must say, I think I've enjoyed yours the most now! :D Very clear and consice, but not only that the material and thread was so easy to view and the contrasting thread made it so easy to follow along to what you were doing. Thanks for sharing !!

As well, no one discusses batting, the different qualities, and how you get those nice little bumps in the quilts. I keep looking for true beginner hand stitched quilting videos and still not found. And how to choose the backing? What criteria, what are the differences and the consequences of choices.

Good explanations but when you have a big quilt like for a queen bed, do you turn it the same way you did when you turning the way to quilt??

Great hand quilting tutorial! - especially for a newbie like me. I love your quilt. Do you use 100% cotton or some other kind of fabric. The fabric in your quilt is really pretty and seems to have a sheen. Thank you!!

You videos are awesome! I have a question though. When you wash the quilts that are bound using your big stitch method, does the fabric past the stitch (toward the middle of the quilt) curl or lift? I hope that makes sense.

Lynn, Possibly you have the wrong side of the batting up or are using a poor quality of batting. Here is a link to some detailed information I found about batting:
The Right and Wrong (Side) of Batting - Quilts, Quips, and other Nearsighted Adventures
      sherriquiltsalot.com/2019/02/13/the-right-and-wrong-side-of-batting/amp/
Also see around 9:23 when she talks about wrong size needle causing batting to come up with thread.
