When it came to Clubber Lang, she believed Rocky would come out of it ok win or lose and that's why she told him to face his fears concerning his defeat of Lang and deal with it so it wouldn't haunt him and possibly;y hurt their marriage. I very much like how the scene is designed, with her standing on the top of the stairs and him standing below. they don't get any closer, this symbolizes their different opinions. she is standing over him, but this morally gets inverted by his speech. really a great piece of movie art.

Rocky was always stronger than apollo so let's say he punched around 850, clubber lang was far stronger in power so he was probably around 950. Drago punched with over 2100 pounds that's over 2x as much as clubber and rocky. Adrien was right to say that, drago was on a different level compared to lang.
How am I not making sense? Did you even read what I said? If you look at Rocky 2 and 3 neither apollo or lang were as strong as drago. He killed apollo and was able to punch with 2100 pounds. Lang wasn't that great of fighter even without apollo's help rocky could have won if Micky didn't die. The training from apollo was really about getting is passion and heart back into boxing. Apollo was great having speed, power and all around great footwork but was not able to severely damage rocky. Drago gave rocky brain damage and the people said that rocky should have died against drago that's how powerful and scary he was.
Bruh Drago was much tougher than Lang. Rocky would have beaten Clubber had Micky not died. Drago literally killed Apollo in the ring. Rocky said Drago's fight was the fight of his life. Rocky just wanted to avenge apollo even if he lost, even if he died along with him. Apollo meant so much to him, they were best friends, and as rocky said at his funeral, apollo was the only one who truly believed in rocky. They were polar opposites when it came to personality, apollo was cocky, light hearted, and extroverted while rocky was shy, reserved, and introverted, however they both had one thing in common, they were fighters filled with heart, Rocky lost his best friend and he just wanted to avenge him in some way shape or form, even if he died in the ring to drago just like apollo did
I think when Adrian saw what Apollo’s wife went through when Apollo died, it hit home, and yes on a selfish level; Rocky was always HER rock, her savior, her friend, lover, and husband. I love the character of Adrian throughout 1-4 (I never saw 5). Him reading, however difficult, to their unborn baby in her womb proves that to me every time. When she believed in him I think he felt invincible, the brief look in his eyes when she says “You can’t win!” Shatters him, there is no Rocky without Adrian! Ugh, I love her💖, and them. ❤️🙌🏼💯

This is why and how Rocky IV lives up to the hype of it being the best Rocky film. 4th movie in, Adrian has seen Rocky go the distance and win against Apollo, seen him lose and come back to beat Clubber, yet still thinks he can't win. Rocky at this point in his life is supposed to be the greatest fighter of all time and even his own wife is doubting him as well as the world. It takes the stakes to absurd heights and that what makes it so great.

Rocky said in Creed 2 "Than man broke things in me that ain't never been fixed". The doctor from Rocky 5 said the effects were irreversible too. Chilling, ain't it?
This line was the hardest punch Rock ever got in his life. Also the one and only moment which made me literally cry because it was so strong. Rocky doesnt care about others doubting him. But with Adrian… it was completely different. But once again she was right. Even if Rocky won the fight, he actually lost at the end

He probably would not have been so eager to fight Drago if Dragon showed even a little remorse. But because of his cold indifference, that set Rocky off. He didn't have to fight Drago, but truth be told, he didn't have to fight Apollo the 2nd time. He didn't have to fight Clubber Lang the 2nd time either. Every time he fought, he wasn't really forced to. He always did it out of his own free will. When he fought Apollo the first time, it did at least give him motivation and truly use his talents instead of being a leg breaker for a loan shark. But all the other times, he didn't really have to do it. He didn't have to be a champion again and didn't need to avenge Apollo's death. But maybe he felt he needed to do this. Not really for Apollo, but maybe as sort of a penance. Punishment for what he did, since he also felt like caused Apollo's death, too. He wanted to throw the towel, Duke begged him to do it as well, but just honored Apollo's wish. But maybe he also wanted to do it in Drago's homeland, since he mentioned that he could change and use it as an example to help others change, including the US and Soviet Union.
When she says, "You can't win" you can see in her face that she regretted saying that. She didn't truly mean it, she just talking out of fear and doesn't want Rocky to take the risk. Great acting

Since, I saw the Rocky 1 in 1977 was about fourteen year old, now almost sixty -one year old. I fight every day to win. I have speech impediment and other cognitive disabilities. I got 500 college credit college. I will be getting my fourth, fifth, sixth , seventh and eighth college degrees.
Rocky 4 might be the cheesiest one but it is by far the most entertaining and one I go back to the most. Everything in it gets you pumped up for a fight.
I don’t think people completely understand what Adrian said. She said that he couldn’t win not as he can’t win against Drago necessary, but rather it is pointless as she says “Apollo would still be gone.” Adrian has always been a voice of realized for Rocky through the movies and cares for the best of him while supporting him through the tough times. I don’t get why people act like she is not believing in him for the fight, I think it’s rather she wants him to not recklessly persuade into death matches as we have clearly seen the results of in Rocky 5 with rocky’s injuries.

Sylvester Stallone is an amazing actor, must don't see him like that and get blinded by the bullets and explosions on some of his movies and even then, First Blood is a culture masterpiece.

First of all, let me state the obvious: it was a movie and therefore not real and he only won because he was scripted to win. Now let’s talk about this as if it was reality. To everyone saying that Adrian should have showed him more support and she shouldn’t have told him, “You can’t win!” Shut up! She literally watched Drago kill Creed IN the ring in front of hundreds, thousands actually, of spectators. I agree that a spouse should be supportive of your ambitions and they should verbally back you but there’s also a time when reality needs to be considered. Adrian was with Rock before he was famous, she was with him through his fame and stardom, and she was with him in his post-prime. That right there is loyal and supportive on its own. Rocky was already suffering from brain damage from years of fighting and he was out of his prime when he decided to fight Drago. The man had at least an 1,850 lb punch. What spouse in their right mind would encourage their lover to fight that?! Adrian wasn’t in the wrong for telling him he can’t win, she was being realistic based on what she witnessed for herself. Telling her she was wrong for not supporting Rocky’s decision to fight Ivan is like telling someone they’re wrong for not encouraging their lover to be the best bank robber and drug dealer they can be. I know sly is like an action star but he really is a genuinely great actor his micro expressions and mannerisms are great in every film I’ve seen him in

I really wish Rocky 3 and 4 had an extra 30 mins to each movie and were more like Rocky 1 and 2. My biggest problem with 3 and 4 is that they are shorter movies and definitely feel more like an action movie.. don't have a problem with action movies but Rocky's humble/down to earth/relatable/heartwarming moments are lacking in 3 and 4 compared to 1,2, and yes even 5. Maybe if we had that extra time we could have seen more of that

Of course she can - Rocky was an over the hill fighter that just watched his friend (another over the hill fighter) get killed in the ring. You have the perspective of a viewer, watching a movie.....she does not. And life is not a movie.
What makes this scene so good is the complete reversal from Rocky 3. In 3, Rocky is afraid. In 4, Adrian is the one who is afraid. For the first time, Adrian is the one who is too afraid to support her husband - not because she didn't believe in him, but because if Drago could do that to Apollo, it's only logical that it's possible to do it to Rocky. The boxing didn't matter to her if she lost him in the end.
I totally understand Adrian here. They both just watched their best friend get murdered in the ring by a man Rocky wants to fight. She was trying to discourage him because she just wanted to save her husband from the same fate.

I love the character of Adrian throughout 1-4 (I never saw 5). Him reading, however difficult, to their unborn baby in her womb proves that to me every time. When she believed in him I think he felt invincible, the brief look in his eyes when she says “You can’t win!” Shatters him, there is no Rocky without Adrian! Ugh, I love her💖, and them. ❤️🙌🏼💯

This is why and how Rocky IV lives up to the hype of it being the best Rocky film. 4th movie in, Adrian has seen Rocky go the distance and win against Apollo, seen him lose and come back to beat Clubber, yet still thinks he can't win. Rocky at this point in his life is supposed to be the greatest fighter of all time and even his own wife is doubting him as well as the world. It takes the stakes to absurd heights and that what makes it so great.

But with Adrian… it was completely different. But once again she was right. Even if Rocky won the fight, he actually lost at the end

He probably would not have been so eager to fight Drago if Dragon showed even a little remorse. But because of his cold indifference, that set Rocky off. He didn't have to fight Drago, but truth be told, he didn't have to fight Apollo the 2nd time. He didn't have to fight Clubber Lang the 2nd time either. Every time he fought, he wasn't really forced to. He always did it out of his own free will. When he fought Apollo the first time, it did at least give him motivation and truly use his talents instead of being a leg breaker for a loan shark. But all the other times, he didn't really have to do it. He didn't have to be a champion again and didn't need to avenge Apollo's death.
But maybe he felt he needed to do this. Not really for Apollo, but maybe as sort of a penance. Punishment for what he did, since he also felt like caused Apollo's death, too. He wanted to throw the towel, Duke begged him to do it as well, but just honored Apollo's wish. But maybe he also wanted to do it in Drago's homeland, since he mentioned that he could change and use it as an example to help others change, including the US and Soviet Union.

I don’t think people completely understand what Adrian said. She said that he couldn’t win not as he can’t win against Drago necessary, but rather it is pointless as she says “Apollo would still be gone.” Adrian has always been a voice of realized for Rocky through the movies and cares for the best of him while supporting him through the tough times. I don’t get why people act like she is not believing in him for the fight, I think it’s rather she wants him to not recklessly persuade into death matches as we have clearly seen the results of in Rocky 5 with rocky’s injuries.

First of all, let me state the obvious: it was a movie and therefore not real and he only won because he was scripted to win.
Now let’s talk about this as if it was reality. To everyone saying that Adrian should have showed him more support and she shouldn’t have told him, “You can’t win!” Shut up! She literally watched Drago kill Creed IN the ring in front of hundreds, thousands actually, of spectators. I agree that a spouse should be supportive of your ambitions and they should verbally back you but there’s also a time when reality needs to be considered. Adrian was with Rock before he was famous, she was with him through his fame and stardom, and she was with him in his post-prime. That right there is loyal and supportive on its own. Rocky was already suffering from brain damage from years of fighting and he was out of his prime when he decided to fight Drago. The man had at least an 1,850 lb punch. What spouse in their right mind would encourage their lover to fight that?!
Adrian wasn’t in the wrong for telling him he can’t win, she was being realistic based on what she witnessed for herself. Telling her she was wrong for not supporting Rocky’s decision to fight Ivan is like telling someone they’re wrong for not encouraging their lover to be the best bank robber and drug dealer they can be.

I really wish Rocky 3 and 4 had an extra 30 mins to each movie and were more like Rocky 1 and 2. My biggest problem with 3 and 4 is that they are shorter movies and definitely feel more like an action movie.. don't have a problem with action movies but Rocky's humble/down to earth/relatable/heartwarming moments are lacking in 3 and 4 compared to 1,2, and yes even 5.

Adrian cannot make an argument by saying Rocky can’t win. Because Apollo didn’t train for a serious fight anyway . It was supposed to be just an exhibition fight. Drago killed an old, retired, under-trained fighter.
Of course she can - Rocky was an over the hill fighter that just watched his friend (another over the hill fighter) get killed in the ring. You have the perspective of a viewer, watching a movie.....she does not. And life is not a movie.
What makes this scene so good is the complete reversal from Rocky 3. In 3, Rocky is afraid. In 4, Adrian is the one who is afraid. For the first time, Adrian is the one who is too afraid to support her husband - not because she didn't believe in him, but because if Drago could do that to Apollo, it's only logical that it's possible to do it to Rocky. The boxing didn't matter to her if she lost him in the end.
