Hi i just watched the anthony padilla interview where your son was a guest and i gotta say that your son blow me away with how cool he is. It was very inspirational hearing him talk about him moving out and becoming more independent, and when he said he did a ted talk i was blown away. I wish you guys all the best and if you happen to read this tell him he’s got a new fan in the netherlands.

One of my best friends since I was 6
    Has Down syndrome
He is the most supportive person ever. I remember when I had a fight with another really good friend at the school dance, and she said something cruel that made me cry. I remember him following me into the hallway by the bathroom. He gave me a big hug, and then he told me jokes, and spent the next 30 mins sitting with me and talking, before I was ready to go back into the cafeteria

Great job! It takes courage to get in front of people and speak out. It takes more courage to advocate for yourself and others. Keep plugging away. The world needs more of this.

Great job Matthew! I love it that you said "We are More Alike Than Different." That is the tile of my son's book (David Egan who also has Down syndrome and much older than you). Keep inspiring others.

There is so much that the rest of humanity is sorely lacking of , that people with Down syndrome seem to be brimming with: kindness, thoughtfulness , and a genuine love for life. Look at All the cynicism and negativity in the world that we ‘normal’ people create . We think we are so civilized and “complex”, but I think we have a lot to learn from them .

❤️❤️ Excellent presentation. People with Down Syndrome are people like everyone else, who deserve to be treated with respect and dignity. I love how he brought up, "meaningful" employment. Reasonably challenging, not dumbed down, gives people with DS the chance for growth themselves and doesn't allow for complacency. Thank you for this TED Talk.

More inclusion. More allowing Down's people to show us THEIR points of view. So much we can learn and know. When I heard of some Scandinavian country that boasted they had '0% people with Downs'. I knew that was because amnio tests that revealed the extra chromosome - those fetuses were being terminated early in the pregnancies. It gave me the creeps, because so many wonderful Downs people, living now - have so much to offer the world.

People with Down Syndrome can do awful things just like anyone else. Even as children (I speak from experience). Let's finally stop calling them "angels"... if you can't see that then do you really know someone with DS?
