    Top tip, if you are going up to Edinburgh Castle and feel you can't do the walk up the hill, please tell them, the Castle offers a careers ticket option also, if you you have that or if your struggling they do have a car service that will on less busy days drive you up to the Castle and museum up there. So glad the COVID has left your home. I too was hit with the COVID stick two weeks ago. As I will be traveling to Edinburgh at the end of the month I am glad (if that’s possible) that it hit me in March instead of days before my planned arrival. I look forward to your next video, although by that time I will be in Scotland!

    I got covid in Feb/March too. I was fortunate that my symptoms were not so bad. But, all in all I'm glad to be over it and feel a lot more relaxed about avoiding catching it. Hope you recover quickly and are asymptomatic

      It was pretty rough for the first 4 or 5 days but thankfully after that it quickly faded out like a cold would! Glad to hear your experience was mild and I totally agree that it gives one a bit of a reprieve from having to be anxious ALL. THE. TIME. when going out.

    Hello, great videos! Question, my wife and our twin boys (4 of us in total) are planning on moving there this Fall for school. We are in our mid twenties and our boys are currently almost a year old.
    Do you or could you make a video regarding moving there with young children? Are there months where you probably couldn't take them out as it would be too cold?
    Thank you for your help! We just started looking so any help would be awesome!

    • @Kakibot
      @Kakibot  2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Hi Frederico! Congrats on the future move! .)
      Small kids - wise: I have a friend who moved here last fall with a toddler (so just a bit older than your twins, I believe she's about 2 and a half years old now), and she was able to go out just fine over the winter - the trouble in Edinburgh is mostly the biting wind rather than cold itself. I'd invest into some really wind proof baby attire! (Some days it will most definitely be so windy you will probably be a bit scared to take your kids out though. But those are days when we are all quite worried to leave the house x) )
      Another thing that gets tricky with kids is that the extremes in when the sun goes up and down in Scotland seem to mess with their sleeping schedules - so from what I gathered, some good blackout curtains will be a godsend!

      @NickiNewellArt 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hi, don't mean to barge in but I just moved here with my husband and 2yr old fall of 2021 (I am the friend Kakibot was mentioning). I don't have a video about it but would be happy to answer some questions and pass on some knowledge if I can.
      About certain months where it is too cold to take them out, I wouldn't say there are full months (haven't been here long), because there are days where even though it is cold the sun comes out and it's beautiful. The wind is killer so I have seen some kids have these like coverall things that are like a coat with feet. I keep meaning to get one for my daughter so she can still be out when it's rainy and not get her clothes wet. I will say it gets dark really early in the winter, as Kat mentioned. So there were some days that if we didn't go out before her afternoon nap we missed all the sun.

      Now I live in Mie prefecture, central Japan. (A rural area between Nagoya and Osaka…and the location of Japan’s most important Shinto shrine.)

      May tends to be one of the nicest months in Edinburgh, but of course with Scotland one should always be ready for quick changes in weather! It's unlikely to be cold cold but it might very well be colder than what you expect (because the wind does cool you down a lot). Hope you have a great time!

    • @Kakibot

      I think for locals, March can be particularly bad because it FEELS like it should be getting nicer and often it isn't just yet. But you might luck out - I definitely remember many beautiful March days! Visiting Scotland asks for a zen-like ability to just not mind whatever weather hits you.
