      @@kaisouseru2466They're often seeded with a true RNG. On amd64 chips there are the RDRAND/RDSEED instructions which use thermal noise (or something similar) to generate random numbers. Mix that with some extra entropy sources (network delays, voltage jitter, temperature, time... the operating system should do this for you) and realistically that number isn't getting predicted by anyone who doesn't have access to (or code running on) the machine. Then use a good CSPRNG (preferably popular enough that you'll see it in the news if a flaw is publicly discovered) with that seed, and if you didn't mess up it'll be less predictable than the randomness you get flipping a coin or rolling dice.
      If you're up against national intelligence services or doing DRM to protect copyrighted work from piracy, this comment isn't enough research to do crypto. It gets very, very hard to make a good cryptographic implementation which protects its secrets in a lab full of tools meant to extract them (and it still isn't easy in other circumstances).

      @Chroniclilskip27 huh? From what i read, does saxon REALLY have any use for an atomic trampoline?compared to the huge number of scientists and other researchers that could use this to the benefit of science and technology- i cant say that i dont think It isnt sorta tragic that such a rare piece of scientific equipment be used "for cool points" imo. If he wants cool points ill give him a 3D hologram projector screen or a massive tesla coil to throw lightnight around or something, or a bunch of lsd would be better suited for scoring cool points in college... *cries to self*

      @@M3TaTr0Nx scientists can just make it themselves

    • @M3TaTr0Nx
      @M3TaTr0Nx 3 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @vibaj16 If only it were that simple. not if they lack the equipment. Or the resources. This is the age of information. I have all the academic resources available to me that a post doctoral Ivy League university student has/had, and the dedication & commitment to learning, but i lacked the money to have some bureaucratic institution give me a diploma for learning it & mastering it from them. That doesn't mean I didn't learn and commit myself to growing as a scientist every day for the past 15 years (which I have), it just means that I have a far more difficult time accessing the lab equipment to "do it myself". I would have done this myself years ago if i could afford a 20k plasma smelting setup, but I can't. Niles videos should be proof enough that the informational resources are freely available to those determined enough to acquire it; however, the same doesn't go for the lab equipment itself. Not everybody fits into the same box, nor should they. Chalking it up to "scientists can make it themselves" is an assumption that the lab is what makes a scientist and not the mind. There's a very big difference between knowing how to make something and having the privilege of being able to apply that knowledge in practice. You dont need to have attended MIT to be a scientist any more than you need to have attended Juliard to be an artist, writer, etc.. both require extreme dedication, aptitude, knowledge, etc. The only difference is that high-tech lab equipment costs a hell of a lot more than a pen and paper. Hence why it would be really nice to see those that are fortunate enough to have access to this equipment to consider maybe giving it away to people who have specific use cases in mind for it, given that we're not talking about a novelty here. This is something that has the potential to kill somebody if mishandled, and people using things like this "to score cool points" are the exact reason that the rest of us aren't able to buy them anymore. So yeah, it's upsetting to me to see it be used for something so trivial. Its not like I'm demanding a redraw here, frankly I am shocked to see one of these given away at all. 55k emails is a lot and he wanted to be fair, i get it 100%. As that person who lost sleep over this giveaway, I hope that Saxon will show this the respect it deserves and not treat it like it's a toy to show off

    This was definitely way more fun than a number generator, even if they couldn't figure out how to do it digitally 🤣

    There's probably lots of programs that could choose but you could also write a short python script that picks a number between 1 to however many pages and another number between 1 and 100. Would be like maybe 30 lines of code? And would be simple enough an AI could write it if you wanted. Crude but would work if you ever do another giveaway!

    Mr NileRed, I'd like to see the base of the atomic trampoline vibrate just a bit thus imparting kinetics into the system... Can you get the ball the continue bouncing consistently long as the vibration persists?

    Hey, this is random idea I have is it possible to take the toxins out of a flower like the lily-of-the-valley because I know it’s toxic because of the enzymes and I was wondering if it is possible to break down those enzymes in the flower well it be alive

    Even though I didn't win and may not have been on the lucky page, that was far better and more entertaining.
