    Thank you, enjoyed the clip. I also have the 2016 Thruxton in Red but has the R attached. The feeling which it give me, is one of pure enjoyment, tho on a long 375 trip to KC from south central Missouri, have a real pain in the rear end. But at this age (77 Y/O) I'm still riding. Like you the HD StreetGlide sits in the garage, The Thruxton is so much easier to handle. I too got a good deal on the Thruxton, almost like they just wanted it out the door.
    Thanks again, if you get a chance let me know your LOC.

      Awesome that you're still riding. Thruxton is definitely painful on long trips. I'm in Houston. 👍

    Really enjoyed your ride and comments, felt like I was in part of ''The Heat of the Night'' What a country, huge wide roads that I can only dream about, living in UK we have nothing like it. I would love to come over and have a ride on some of those roads, there's no cars, brilliant. Thanks

    Beautiful Bike! The White is the best option in my opinion. Its a shame that Triumph doesnt include the White and the Red model in their current Lineup.
    Next year im getting a Triumph too, my heart says Thruxton R, but my head says Speed Twin :D
    A combination of the Speed Twin and for example the MV Agusta Superveloce 800 would be a dream too, if money was no object.

    • @dorian_vlogs

      Thruxton S or Thruxton R is the best bike in my opinion. Speed twin is fast and whatnot but has no soul. Call me old school but my thruxton speaks to me. 🤷‍♂️. Test ride it and decide that way.

    I love the white model! I have seen hundreds of videos reviewing this bike and all of the Triumphs with the 1200 engine and I’ve never heard anyone mention the vibration. I have the old 865 in my Speedmaster and thinking of adding the Thruxton as I agree it’s simply gorgeous but trying to decide if I really need the 1200 given my riding style but now I am wondering about that vibration and if it’s a common issue or just specific to your bike. In any case thanks for sharing

    • @dorian_vlogs
      @dorian_vlogs  3 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Honestly it could just be my bike. It seems to have slowed or almost stopped as the miles keep going up if I'm being honest. It was pretty tough at first. It's much smoother now. As far as should you add to the collection? Well, it's cheaper than getting a girlfriend and alot more fun 😉. Two bikes is better than one in my opinion. Thanks for watching. 👍

    Regarding the suspension; you weigh 205-210lbs. Do you find it bottoms out on bumps, wallows on corners, or dives upon braking? This is the same suspension on the Speed Twin, and everyone trashes it saying they want an “R” model with Ohlins rear and Showa BP up front. Some of the forums say your suspension and the Speed Twin are set up for a 170-180lb. Rider, which is where I’m at geared up. I’m looking to buy a new or used Thruxton 1200 (like yours), and R, or RS. Money is tight and I would hate to buy the base Thruxton 1200 and $2,000 right away for rear shocks and an Ohlins Nix 22 cartridge kit. What are your thoughts. Are how do the Nissin front brakes feel? You have had sport bikes so you can compare the initial bite and feedback/modulation. Does this bike really need dual Brembo M50s with radial master cylinder?

    • @dorian_vlogs
      @dorian_vlogs  3 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      My answer, my suspension and brakes are perfect for me. I take curves as if it were a race bike at the highest speed possible without any issues. My rear tire has what we call chicken scratches, at the very edge of the tire. I take the suspension, brakes and the motorcycle itself to it's limits without any issues whatsoever. The "R" and "Brembos"... are not worth the extra cost in my opinion. I'd love to take it around the track against someone who rides an R or RS and see if they're $2,000 faster or better than me... may sound arrogant but I bet I take their lunch money. In fact, I guarantee it. Just a random guy on TH-cam and his thoughts though. Good luck on your purchase. 👍

    Great vid, watched it whilst doing some work on the laptop.
    Did you expect it to be slightly quicker off the lights? I have a Thruxton 900, and I'm really missing the power so I was thinking about the 1200. Are you on Insta by any chance?

      I come from 600 and 1000cc bikes. I don't miss it at all. The 1200 has more than enough horses to get you in trouble or to pick it up on one wheel without a problem.. watch some of my other videos on my channel on the twisties. It leans just as far as you need it to without a problem. This is my favorite bike I've ever owned and I've had plenty. Enough power, feels like a rocket cause I'm leaning forward, plenty of torque and you can't beat the sound with a good exhaust. Do it, I promise you won't regret it.

  • @786philb

    Wheel balance causes that at set speeds but i guess you know that. Oh some workshops may cut corners or not spend time to balance it proper. Next tyre change make sure its balanced.

    • @dorian_vlogs
      @dorian_vlogs  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      I'm assuming you're referring to my comments about vibration. It's not an unbalanced wheel type of vibration, it's the typical parallel twin vibration. Thanks for watching.

  • @aesonvirus
    @aesonvirus 4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    Nice bike! I love my TTR. I was going to say that I've experienced none of the vibrations you were talking about until you went on to talk about the speeds where you felt them. I don't spend much time above the 60-65 mph mark so maybe that's why I haven't felt them. I hate freeways... too many morons out there trying to kill us while checking on their snapchat accounts. LOL I enjoy mine much more on the twisty back roads.
    I picked up a Motone x-pipe... haven't gotten to the install yet and may save it for the winter months during downtime. I too was freaked out about the install until I watched Stuart's video. His video walks you through things, gives a few heads-up and tips and overall, I'm feeling better about it now. His video can be found here:

    Are the shocks garbage? The R seems to have Ohlins rear and Showa front. Are the Nissin brakes shit? The R has front Brembo. My questions; is the extra money for the “R” worth it? The RS is even more money with better front Brembos and there are some engine mods, but less color options. I agree the white looks vintage.Triumph no longer sells you model.

    • @dorian_vlogs
      @dorian_vlogs  3 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      My brakes and suspension are perfectly fine. Zero issues. The only thing they're missing is... oh yeah, that ugly gold color. As for me, I'd pass every day of the week on ohlins and Brembos.. bottom line is they're not $2,000 better brake or suspension wise. They're simply not. If you want a crotch rocket, I'd absolutely recommend them(ohlins & Brembos) because that's just what we're used to in the liter bikes so I'd say yes. On a "vintage" looking 95 horsepower thruxton, no way! Save your money, you won't notice the difference. Period. Go test ride both though, it's all about what you like and how it feels for you. 👍

      Dorian Almonte I prefer the basic looking forks with this style bike. Goes well with the Spokes wheel. I assume a "racer" might notice the difference on a track. The rest are posers. Glad to hear your reply, it help my decision. Keep up the channel

      On one of your first shorts, you had mentioned the X piping. I did take that job on and you were correct, started mid morning and finished with dark coming on me in the driveway. Also completed the air box thing (removal). Still running the stock pipes out the back on the Thurston R. The wheels sure catch the eye while at the pumps. Still have the 17 HD SG CVO just clan't let it go either.. Be well. Ever come south give a shout out.
