Wonderful machine! Great bike all around. Price wise, a champ. The round display should be larger cause in a direct sunlight, the split second you need to look at the gauge longer could count vs safety. The DCT is a killer option. It makes the ride so much more relaxing.
FYI - My Rebel 1100 DCT will kill the engine if I’m in gear and put down the kick stand. Doesn’t pass neutral, goes straight to off. In the video you said it would go to neutral. Great video BTW! Used it to program my user mode to P2, T2, EB1 and D1 which is my favorite right now.
Great explanation of the modes. Can't wait to get this bike. Looks awesome sounds awesome and has plenty of tech and cruise standard and abs. Great bike for my wife and for me as well to ride when she let's me.
you are correct, the DCT control is the rpm shift points, in standard mode it tends to go to 6th gear quickly, I programed the user mode to change it to a higher up shift, better yet just put in manual mode mode and use the paddle shifters, you'll be amazed at how seamless it shifts, had mine for a week now
I hope I didn't say it backwards in the video, but that is how it's wired. As some who has raced karts and sequential manual racecars, that's exactly how I would want it too.
i cant be fucked with gears anymore. I dont want to have to think about it. Im not into speed up through the gears enough to care. its so nice just jumping on a motorbike in through the city or even on long trips and not have to think about gears. it just makes my experience more enjoyable. Thanks you You save my time I gone back to shop buy one. *Last time i went to shop, I used demo the bikie So the bikie too aggressive slow down, I really no idea avoid to buy.
Hi mate, I would like to ask if there is possible to switch to neutral while the bike is moving, for example when you goes down the hill or when you are approaching traffic lights and you are going to stop the bike..... Thanks
nice vid, this DCT business ain't obvious to me and seems quite alright. definitely will take one for a test ride once it's available, i wonder how well it will do in the city
Good video, but for me the most interesting thing I saw was the gauge showing a full tank of petrol but the ‘range’ only showing 97 miles, is that right, before I buy one I need to know it’s gonna get me past 150 miles between fill ups!!
Just seen previous posts, it would be great if you could confirm the mileage, so far you’re the only person on you tube giving out any useful information, good job mate👍
another great video I can see that the gas tank is full and it says 95 miles on the rain screen good Lord I surely hope that is correct I hope they are trying to emulate the Harley sportster peanut tank that much I was hoping you could at least ride over 150 miles before he would get the meetings you'll like when the reserve amount is left in the tank of course you will have to wait to find out until it is not raining I'm looking forward to hearing thanks for sharing with us fantastic information very helpful
How can you control the RPM on slow speed curves on a DCT? Like when I do slow turns, I use clutch on manual transmission to control the rpm rather than throttle, I guess that is more controlable. I’m wondering how can you do that with automatic? I find higher rpms with half clutch pressed on slow turns makes bike a bit more stable ... not sure if that’s how it’s supposed to be done?
I am a VTX 1300 owner. I like the display and the DCT. I would like to have more clearance. The bike is obviously lighter than the VTX. I am considering the Rebel 11.
Could you do a size comparison with the 500? I am a taller guy and I am a bit cramped on the 500 and I want to know if the 1100 could be more comfortable for me. Thanks and great video!
How far can you go on a full tank? Because that says 97 miles of range and the tank looks full. 😳😳😳 I’m thinking of getting one but I don’t know if I could if it can only go that far on a full tank.
Thank you very much. This is all very helpful. Nearby dealer has the bike on the showroom floor now. If anyone is interested, you can download a PDF version of the manual from the Honda site (powersports.honda.com/downloads/owners-manuals). Can be helpful to better understand all the buttons and settings. Stay warm. Ride safe.
Are you considering a slip on exhaust? I saw Two Brothers Racing and Vance & Hines has them for the Rebel 1100. Both around $500. Would be great to see a review on those! Thanks
@raceboy1971 I have mine on pre-order, but I am getting a manual version. I just hate the aftermarket exhaust options for them. They look pretty bad. But I was wondering if the VH exhaust for the Rebel 500 would fit the 1100. Do you have any way to measure the outlet pipe diameter of the cat on the 1100 and the 500?
Yes, because of the modes. Put it in rain mode and it's very docile and as you gain experience you can add in power in the user mode. Perfect for a beginner.
@@raceboy1971 i believe so. To be honest I was not even looking for it. I wanted a Harley but did not want to spend Harley prices especially being new. Plus I have a bad back and they were just too heavy. So I went to the local Honda dealer just to see what the had really but sat on the 1100 and it felt great. Light but sturdy. I'm 6'1" 300lbs but felt like it could carry me well. So I finish paperwork and pick it up on Saturday. Very excited.
You've cornered the market on personally owned rebel 1100 experience and I think that's a great thing. I'm thinking about trading in my 2010 vfr1200f for this, but never liked the sitting position of cruisers. Will need to test ride it when it's more available here in LA.
You made an amazing video good job!!! My advice to make it better would be time stamps with I think u can edit the video with you tube to add them but very will done
Best thing since sliced bread for long roadtrips ! I have a dct nc750x and I love it, looking forward to spring so I can get back to my favorite roads here in the Swiss mountains.
6' is probably the upper limit. I'm 6'3" and there's no way I could last more than 30 minutes. Ergos are basically the same as the 500. Hope that helps brother.
I asked the same question on the last video and I'm the same height haha. I submitted the bike to cycle-ergo.com and they have it up there now so you can see roughly how you'd look on the bike. Looks like it's more cramped than most cruisers but less cramped than most other standard/sport bikes (I'm coming from a VFR 800 and the riding position would be a lot less cramped for me). I can see how it would feel cramped for someone who is used to cruiser ergonomics though.
Awesome video man! I just purchased the ‘22 1100 DCT yesterday and should be getting delivered tomorrow. How is the bike holding up since you posted this video?
That’s great to hear. I can’t wait to start bombing around on it. I was wondering if there was going to be issues with the DCT system. But from further research, sounds like Honda has been in that game for years. Thank goodness. The 1100’s are hard to find. I wanted the 6speed clutch but someone had bought it the day before. But I’m sure I won’t be disappointed. Lol.
Honda is on their 9th generation so they have had plenty of time developing it. My buddy has a Goldwing with 60K peoblem free miles on their DCT and DCTs have proven bulletproof in automotive applications for over 20 years now.
don't you think having a clutch lever gives you more control to the motorcycle and and the power you want from it? I want to exchange my 500 Rebel for a 1100 but Im doubting on the DCT .. is it worth it
You're probably talking about tight low speed maneuvers where, if you're using proper technique and dragging the rear brake, I don't think there's a difference. It's one of the first things I tried today and one of the first things my wife practiced. It's certainly no worse than any bike with a hydraulic clutch.
How does your Harley run compared to the rebel ,who would win in a race the Harley or the rebel ,I realize you have a s&s motor on your Harley so it would probably be your Harley ,just curious
hey there! i have the 500cc rebel, is this the same like my rebel but with doble power?same ergonomics?...i mean, i love my rebel and i may upgrade next year to rebel 1100 maybe next year they may add some new colours like always honda do.

The reason it was like that is because the bike had been idling. Real world is 200 miles per tank roughly.

It's only like that because it was sitting there idling. Real world should be roughly 200 miles on a tank.
