  • New cables released by whistleblower website, wikileaks, have opened a lid on the thinking of the country's three top politicians, President Mwai Kibaki, Prime Minister Raila Odinga and Vice President Kalonzo Musyoka in the run-up and immediately after the disputed 2007 elections. The cables to Washington by American Ambassador Michael Ranneberger between November 2007 and January 2008, indicate that both Kibaki and Musyoka were firmly opposed to the inclusion of ODM leader Raila Odinga in the government arguing that Odinga was a difficult person to work with. The President reportedly told Ranneberger that he was willing to co-opt any ODM leaders into the government but not Odinga and Eldoret North Mp William Ruto. Further, the cables indicate that president was convinced the William Ruto was largely responsible for the post poll violence in rift valley. Here is Evelyn Wambui with that report.

Interesting that Citizen has "carefully", or "wittingly" avoided to quote in part, 'Odinga victory would be a “revolution” (in the sense of dramatic action against corruption and improvement in social services and other areas)'...Citizen, tunawajua...!!!!

@Otdog: I don't blame you....it all boils down to where one is in the 'intellectual' pyramid....Ranneberger happens to play in the class of Heavy Weights Division...Kalonzo is several steps downstairs!
