  • Tonight on our newsmakers series, we focus on Vice - President Kalonzo Musyoka, the man who marked his 57th birthday on Christmas Eve. To some political observers, the Vice - President cuts the image of an indecisive fence sitter, but the man himself argues that it's his training in law that has seen him take a cautious approach to life, including his political career. Our senior reporter, Sylvia Chebet spent Christmas day with the Vice - President and his family and has his story on tonight's edition of the newsmakers series.

Guys I forgot to tell you something, recently Hon.Peter Kenneth came to the UK, the Kenyan High Commission wanted to send him a car to pick him up from Heathrow, he refused and sait that's a waste of resources and instead preferred to travel the London Underground to spare our state resources. Now compare that to Kalonzo's 20 Min. flight with his family for this interview. You will judge for yourself. People R suffering in Kenya & we must use state resources wisely.

This man man has been in power for ages and his home is ONE of the reasons why some people still think Kenya is all semi desert and Kenyans live in small mud huts.

I admire your family life & your faith but you need to avoid KKK, what will small tribes do? Instead form alliances with upright people in Kenya like Githongo, Gitobu Imanyara, Peter Kenneth, Orengo, etc and bring Kenya's past glory lost in the time of Kenyatta's land grabbing and Moi's corruption. President Kibaki & Raiola have done well laying foundation in terms of infrastructure, new constitution, opening democratic space, etc but we need visionary people to finish the job.

Kalonzo is a great guy who finds himself in the murky waters of politics. He is one of those gentlemen who could give our nation so much away from the mafias.

Kalonzo is still timid; lackign in confidence or determination. Whenever you say the truth, people look at your name and call you a Raila sycophant. The truth is Kalonzo is not a bad man but he is very indecisive. We would not have the new constitution if we had Kalonzo at the helm that's the truth. We needed the determination of President Kibaki, Timothy Njoya, Raila, Gitari, etc. By the way, not all Luos support Raila. Its time we all support those principles we believe in like Githongo.

@jambopatty I honestly haven't watched Raila's profile. That's a waste of resources if he ever did that. I am no anybody's fanatic. Give me url please. I have been waiting for that. To be honest I didn't know Citizen TV TH-cam until about a week ago. I want to look at Raila's profile. I know him to waste resources and won't stop at anything criticising him. Give me the url please.

@KILIMANJARO, you r right about Kalonzo whatever some will say. I truly admire Ruto, he is like a Lion, goes for what he believes in. In fact, Ruto has so much to offer for Kenya today. He started on a bad note KANU 92, but he has changed a lot. However please don't abuse Kenyasoul, for he is entitled to his opinion, besides please, his stupidity has got nothing to do with his tribe. We must shun completely any tribal feelings here. THE TRUTH IS, KALONZO IS YET TO BE A DECISIVE LEADER.

By calling himself "Wipper", Kalonzo admits that he neither here nor there, always back and forth, yes, no, yes, yes, no.....

@Kubi7644 Ha ha ha... that was nice (I LOL). You may well have a point. In fact it doesn't matter, whatever background, we need someone who will bring change. A lot of these guys in the armed forces R discplined & can bring change but after the record of Col. Ali in the police, I am scared to death what they can do. Can you remember how he was shrugging about the way the police dealt with PEV?. Can you imagine the message to someone who lost a loved one? But I agree, we need some discpline.

Soory @Kilimanjaro, I think I meant kenyasoul, sorry. But still the truth is, even Matiba had so much to offer than Kalonzo. With someone like Kalonzo, Moi would still be in power with all the corruption. The determination of people like Matiba, Rubia, Muliro, Gitari, Raila, Imanyara, etc has changed the country whatever peopel like kenyasoul may say. Where was Kalonzo when pple were up for multy party? he really doesn't know what he stands for. GUYS CAN YOU COMPARE THIS GUY WITH R Rv GITARI

The good table manners Raila learnt in Germany during his studies is that you do not watch television while having dinner. And that you do not scoop your food from a plate with an eating fork as if a fork were a spoon!
