Proud to say I watched all your golden tools streams and even your editing stream, it's so much fun being here for the entirety of the challenge before these videos come out for once
This reminds of when I realized I got all the golden tools except the shovel back in March 2021. I started playing May 2020, and got the gold net and gold rod by December. So I deduced that a person could reasonably get the majority of the golden tools in one year or less than a year based on when they start. The golden watering can isn’t exactly time sensitive and can be achieved whenever, same with the axe and slingshot. Then I looked up the requirements of the golden shovel and then started “doing math” on how long it would take to get the golden shovel if a person played the game a little bit every day and don’t do any time traveling to cheat the system, And my calculations were based on a “best case scenario.” Since you gotta help Gulliver 30 times, Best case scenario, every 2 weeks Gulliver shows up on the beach and his arrival days never coincide with any special events or holidays. With 52 weeks in a Gregorian calendar year, that means best case scenario you will only be able to help Gulliver 26 times in a year. So the last four times come out to 8 weeks, which is, Like, 2-3 more months. Which means that unlike the other golden tools that can be acquired within a calendar year, even less if you’re lucky, but the shovel would take the most amount of time. And that’s the best case scenario. Taking any variables into account means that it could take maybe a year and a half or more technically making it the hardest golden tool to get if you’re just some casual player.
Yeah the shovel (and axe) are the only golden tools I don't have and I got the game May of 2021 and got my golden rod and net in December ( I did time travel to April since I got the game 3 weeks after my bday and wanted the cherry blossom DIYS, still don't have em all but got the ones I really wanted). My first golden tool was the watering can. I got that after only like 2 months or so of playing. It was really easy for me. Next was the slingshot, then the fishing rod then the net ( I missed one damn bug in summer as I took a 3 month break, which was half of the summer so I had to TT back to get the horned Hercules but other than that, I didn't have to TT to get anything else)

dagnel your amazing "this video will resume in 7 seconds, relax, stretch, and drink some water!" thing literally was so wholesome and it made me feel like i wasn't alone omg i could cry right now
I was trying to think of a challenge called the Midas challenge where you get basically everything with gold in the name, but I imagine the rng of getting different gold furniture crafting recipes makes this too unreliable.
26:10 I appreciate that Darnell puts a reminder to stretch because my posture is so bad that my inevitable future chiropractor would need a chiropractor. Thanks for the reminder.
looking at your island without snow makes me so jealous
what a great video again, also i find your animal crossing speedruns very rewatchable! i came back to the flower and museum run at least 3 times, same with this one over the course of the next months. Keep it up dude!
That's awesome, thanks!
The fact that the dagnelondeforestation actually works 😂😂
Your challenges are so so fun ❤️ I have no idea how you edit all this footage and do the challenge but thank you so so much for all your hard work and endurance!!! Your twitch streams are always so fun too 💕
Thank you so much! It's a lot of editing but the final products are always worth it
I know this video is old, but Dagnel thanks for these longer videos. I love having these challenge runs on in the background while studying or playing ACNH
Thank you!
This is an older vid, but one of the best newer animal crossing vids. I recently fell in love with animal crossing so I’m grateful for you managing to edit a over 10 hour run, into 30 minutes (or congrats to ur editor)
i have been watching the acnh challenge videos playlist for like a week straight i cant stop theyre so entertaining
It’s always a good day when dagnel uploads 😎
me: still hasn’t caught a great white even tho i’ve played for 500 hours
this man who just started a new island: *great white shark intensifies*
You can speed up breaking your axes by getting a certain prediction from Katrina that will make your tools break more quickly.
Dagnel no joke your long animal crossing videos have become amazing comfort videos and background sound for me. I watch them at least once a month
The immediate repulse to Olaf is just hilarious 😂
Everytime I watch these (usually while playing anch, myself) I am amazed at your patience!!
Thanks!
me watching this 2 years later and realizing when he caught that flea off that hamster the music in the bg had a smack like sound and it was timed perfectly 19:25
Dagnel, your videos give me so much luck😂 the third gigas giant clam in less then 12 hours (without actively searching for it!!) While i watched you get golden tools. I also got a flea yesterday while watching a video of yours (the one with the please wake up thingy) so thank you for the unreal luck I had since watching your content!
Thanks for showing me something i would probably never achieve. 10/10
I’ve been binge watching your speed run videos and let me just say, the little break during the videos telling us to go and take a break always make me happy !
I have played this game for like 800 hours...I have the companion guide...and you just taught me about the vision score. thats wild. great video!
Another great video, Dagnel! It was great to catch your "Behind the Streams" editing stream.
Thanks, maybe I'll do more!
I’m really enjoying your videos, super chill and well edited 💚
Thank you so much!!
Every time he mentions how hard fleas are to catch, I look at my own game and question why I have them almost every time I log on😭😂
It’s like Christmas when Dagnel posts!! Yaya!
his videos are just so comforting for some reason
The chat losing it when you caught the flea was hilarious 😆
i was losing it inside
i was playing acnh today and found a flea on a villager, but i thought it was a moquito. they kept talking about how they were all itchy and stuff, then i heard your description of them and i nearly MISSED it. thanks for that man.
I think Gulliver needs to attend an AA meeting
oh wow, i have over 1000 hours in this game and ive only gotten the golden watering can and slingshot recipes! much respect to your dedication for all of your videos dude. also, pro tip: to shorten waiting time while changing your clock, change the time *before* you save and quit. if you do that, the new time will be updated upon returning to the title screen, which means you dont have to close the game entirely. i hope this helps! looking forward to more videos from you.
Thanks! Yeah that's what I've been doing. I press minus, change the clock, then go back to the game before it saves and go from there.
I love these videos so much , thanks as always for all the hard work Dagnel !
Glad you enjoy it!
Bro really just played geoguessr in the middle of an acnh speedrun twice and i gotta say, i respect the grind.
I didn't even know golden tools existed, and now he has all of them
had* 😂
@@Alice-jp3wx and now he had all of them?
@@lovelyParasoul I think they mean that he doesn't have them anymore since he deleted the file
@@lovelyParasoul Yeah bcz he deleted it at the end
@@radioactivevolt Exactly
21:12 "tough fish to do" is an understatement. Spent over 20 hours during rain to find a coelacanth 😫 and ive never caught another one since
the people that keep suggesting an all nook miles achievement speedrun are actually insane and haven't thought about the mental anguish it would cause dag, it wouldn't be fun to watch at all
I've been working on it slowly since the game came out and trust me, it's ridiculous. The sheer amount of time travel required for some of the achievements is insane (particularly K.K. Mania), and some of the more tedious ones (catch 5000 fish/bugs) I'm nowhere close too. Nook miles for miles is really dumb too (3000 nook miles + goals is excessive...)
@@iambor1393 I completed them and the WORST was crafting 5000 tools by FAR. The only real TT i had to do was for KK Mania but i just did it in the background while shinyhunting. i found a way to cheese smile isle if you're interested

I watch longer vids like this for background noise while I'm playing acnh. Today I was terraforming and customized a couple things with Cyrus.
This kept me sane.
Loved this video Dagnel and really enjoying all your content! Keep it up 😊👍
Thank you so much!
I love your video's I can never sit down myself and play animal crossing for a long time but this is a perfect longform video. great work and I hope you make more you are growning so much and you deserve it
Thank you!
I love how Dagnel cares about our health
Also, Geoguesser was on AGDQ2022 so be honored that you played a game that someone did a speedrun race on! ^_^
