- Giorgia Meloni will lead Italy's most-right wing administration since the fascist era of Benito Mussolini.
Her nationalist Brothers of Italy party won last month's election, along with two others.
Matteo Salvini's far-right League, and the controversial former prime minister Silvio Berlusconi's Forza Italia were in the winning camp.
Social conservatism as well as anti-immigration and Eurosceptic rhetoric are part of Meloni's political appeal.
She's also voiced anger about Italy's struggling economy.
But she's pledging support for Ukraine, a stance different from her Russia-friendly allies Salvini and Berlusconi.

@Amal Arab Girl whether immigration is legal or illegal depends on the laws at that point in time. In times, past all immigratio was legal. The problem is that humanity is increasingly packed together so those in wealthy regions want fewer immigrants, but how many are allowed in is a legal technicality and doesn't have so much to do with anything other than what politicians decide.

She, Giorgia, is the most impressive politician I have encountered in a very long time. Only in the last few years would someone with her views be considered "far right". There is an old argument whether times produce the person or does the person produce the times. It is of course both. However I lean within that scale - meaning I lean towards the "person produces the times" side. The zeitgeist of the people can go unheard for decades...longer...until a particular person comes along. One of those persons, and we need more of them in my opinion, is amongst us...her name is Giorgia. I would crawl on my hands and knees to vote for her. We in the modern west are becoming closer and closer to what 99.9% of all people in all history experienced - .1% rich and 99.9% poor and powerless. It is our own fault, we are voting for oppression. Giorgia is a ray of hope. I do not have to agree with her 100%, she would not with me.
