Its GREAT but it lacks the WEIGHT and flow of the original. The FUNK isnt quite there. That said its the best cover YET. What would be interesting if this guy actually SPOKE. Would be to know how many times he filmed this before we got to see it. My moneys on the wrong side of 100. Thats why theres years between his uploads. You dont master a Hendrix Masterpiece in a few weeks.
If you look at others who cover Hendrix like John Mayer. They do ALOT of improvising over the main melody and chords. They arent even close to the original.
Because you simply cannot REMEMBER all of this. Even hendrix would improvise stuff like this. And never play it the SAME again. Thats the most impressive thing about this. This guy has a MEMORY like a SAVANT. Maybe thats what he is.
99.9% of us simply could not remember all of this let alone play it. Thats what you ALL need to take onboard here.
Other Hendrix pieces like Hey Joe and Purple Haze are far easier to remember and cover.

Literally the best cover performance of this track I have ever seen. I dont know how you managed to work out all the nuances of the studio recording like this. Mind blowing level of detail and tone.
it’s kind of boring hearing just a complete cover of the original. not bringing down this guys talent and obvious skill but this is a very pro improvisation song and it’s fun to do your own thing with it.

Hats off to this version. Best I have heard yet. I'm actually jealous of how close this is to the original. A very difficult song to master as Jimmi never played it the same way twice. Jimmi's style is more about feel. I've been working on this song for about 5 years and still not as close as this version. There are so many versions Jimmi did, so you just have to pick one that you like the best and try to figure out all the little nuances you can't get from tabs or lessons. Awesome song, well worth putting the time to learn in my opinion.

When you see someone recreate all the little tonalities of Hendrix with such perfection, it gives you a real appreciation of Hendrix’ skill and imagination. Hendrix just really had the groove, man.

Def probably the best cover of this. But it still blows my mind how Jimi played it in the studio... Nobody can ever truly embody the raw ferocity of this track. Again though, this was a damn good tribute.
