K-ON no.1 slice of life anime for me, I dont care what other people think since we all have different favorites
and it's not just about cute girls doing cute things, its absolutely more than that
and also has one of the most emotional ending in anime that doesn't envolve any deaths. it's simple yet beautiful because its the real essence of slice of life

nichijou is more sit com than SoL
Cloude I argue that Nichijou is better SoL than most of these on the list. For once, it's episodic and has barely any plots. You just pick one among any of the 26 eps and enjoy without watching in sequential order.
Nichijou is a comedy not a SoL show, it likes to make jokes on the SoL genre as a whole but I wouldn't classify it as SoL at all.

Yuru Camp is one of my all time favorite slice of life anime and holds a special place in my heart. I can't really explain why but it makes me calm and happy when I'm overwhelmed and stressed out. I absolutely love the scenery and makes me want to camp near Mt Fuji even if I done even know how to. Kinda sad it didn't make the list :(

I recommend watching K-On if you haven't. It's become my favorite anime and it only took a few episodes. When I started drawing a few months ago one of the things I drew the most were K-On characters.

Aria the animation is so memorable. Felt like this anime is not known to many but it contains a lot of beautiful soundtracks, character development and there were so many scenes that is beautiful and nostalgic at the same time. Love how you watch them grow thru the years. And there were moments that this anime teaches you to appreciate the little things in life that you may fail to notice on day to day basis. Definitely recommend.

Hyouka is a rom-com slice of life anime. You will know if you watch it one more time. All about detective activity done by Oreki is because he has been fascinated by the beauty of Chitanda Eru, since the locked door mystery in episode 1, Oreki always wants to be close to Chitanda Eru, and vice versa.

Okay I have seen Barakamon and it is one of the nicest anime's I've seen, its laid back but also funny the characters are also very lovable
I recommend you guys to watch Barakamon, because it is very inspirational and it reminds me of myself as a big brother playing with many kids in a peaceful village. ❤️

I'm just happy Barakamon made this list. It's my favourite anime simply because it existed at the right time in my life not because of literary merit or anything more intelligent. It's nice to know it's also valued as a Slice of Life.

Usagi Drop a Anime that will warm your heart, until you decide to read the manga and read it till the end, where a part of you will die and you will struggle to trust any series with similar premise.
Also I've never even heard of the number one on the list, I've watched (or unfortunately the case with Usagi Drop, read) the rest on the list.

I wanted Kids on the Slope to be number one but was completely shocked when it was. I didn't think it was nearly as popular as the others. You should watch it though. It really is gold.

Maybe you've heard its 'real' name, Sakamichi no Apollon? Either way, it's really good, on top of being a music-centered story. It's exposure in the west is really low.

@@ahrenortile8909 Agree, they have goals and the characters put their efforts to reach their goals. Actual SoL animes are usually repetitive, with some education in between. Their charm is not the goals or education, rather just the environment and the interactions between characters..

Others I’d recommend are: Maison Ikkoku, Servant x Service, Welcome to the NHK, Your Lie in April, pretty much any adaptations of Key visual novels; (Sub SoL) Ah My Goddess, To Love Ru, Chiobits, Durarara, Violet Evergarden. For movies there are a few Ghibli, and there’s also some Makoto Shinkai movies...

I think they totally missed out on, K-On, Chūnibyō Demo Koi ga Shitai!, Clannad, Shigatsu wa kimi no Uso, Toradora, and Koe no Katachi. Personally, there are a lot of good slice of life anime out there, so it's always based on opinions. But like for real, how in the world did you miss out on K-On!? >:(((( lol

Pros: Anime is very good. I also find refreshing that 2nd protagonist (takagi) has a female companion as a mc not the main protagonist.
Anime really opens up the world of manga writing and make me feel respect for them. Hardwork competition romane emotions. This anime hall
Revelation of antagonist like eiji fukada aiko etc brings a new dimension to the anime.
Cons: Plot in 3rd season felt rushed . I thought side charactor development was compromised especially during reversi vs zombie gun arc

None of these shows sound like my cup of tea except March Comes in Like a Lion and Hyouka ( a show that I already watched)
Competing with Houtarou was really fun though, he felt like a true equal. Something that is hard to find in a slice of life show (because the main charecter is either TOO GOOD at solving stuff or he is just a plain rock when it comes to most slice of life show - not talking about great MCs like Hachiman-)
