In 2020 our gardens have been more important to us than ever especially for our mental health. In a recent survey commissioned by the The Royal Horticultural Society (RHS) 7 out of 10 people felt having a garden had helped their mental health during lockdown. 60% of respondents felt that their physical health had benefited too. So important - and once of the key benefits of lockdown has been everyone becoming more aware of the peace to be found in nature.

Fragrant smells also trigger happy memories and thoughts. I am aware of a number of allotments where raised beds have been built for physically disabled in wheelchairs to be able to garden because of the mental health benefits. Excellent video

Yes, scent in the garden is so important Terri and yes there are a number of gardens around for physically disabled people. There are also gardens at hospitals used for patients - Horatio's gardens.

I love flowers and prefer them growing rather than sitting in a vase. So much more inspiring.
